Alpha Mate Chapter 25

Chapter 25

ASHERS POV

Ifch something wrong in the air, a disturbance that made my instincts prick. I tried to mindlink Caden, but he wasn’t answering. Panic crept into my heart. Something was wrong. I had to leave the soiree and investigate

I quickly made my way through the crowd, ignoring the murmurs and whispers of the guests. I sensed a few of them following me, but I didn’t care. My priority was to find Caden

As I walked down the passageway, I saw a few guards. They seemed to be totally fine, and their faces were tense. I wondered what was going on, but I didn’t stop to ask them. Instead, I kept walking, trying to sense any signs of Caden’s presence. I wondered if he had returned to Raya, I clenched my fists at the thought wondering what I would do to him for being such a simp

I made my way to the guards at the entrance, and they immediately let me pass without question. I felt a twinge of unease even thought everything looked perfectly fine. The soiree was going on smoothly like it had begun

I emerged outside, and I was greeted by the cold atmopshere that sent a shiver careening down my spine

I tried to mindlink Caden again, but there was still no response. My worry increased, and I began to run in the direction of his quarters. I hoped to

find him there

As I ran, I sensed the presence of someone else, like someone was watching me or I was being followed but I quickly expelled the thought, thinking it was just a fragment of my imagination

I walked down the dark and dingy corridor leading to the basement. The further I walked, the more my senses heightened. The air grew still, and the silence was so deafening it was almost eerie. I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was wrong. It was as if my gut told me to return and leave this place, but I had to find Caden. I quickened my pace, and soon jogged down the dark hallway

I couldn’t see a thing, but I could feel the cold stone walls around me. The only light came from the small windows high above, casting long shadows on the ground. I kept calling out to Caden through the mindlink, but there was no answer. 1 started to panic. I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off

As I reached the end of the corridor. I saw a faint light coming from a room at the end of the hall. I walked towards it, and the closer I got, the stronger the smell of blood became. I could hear muffled sounds coming from inside. It sounded like a struggle

The air was thick with the scent of blood as I got closer, and I could feel the fear emanating from the guards stationed outside. I knew I had to be careful

I signaled to the guards to stay back and slowly made my way inside. As I rounded the corner, I saw Caden panting, sweat glistening on his forehead. What’s going on!” I demanded, my voice tense with worry

Bounty hunters, they came with the guestshe gasped. They’ve invaded the basement and they have stolen something. We need to find them

I didn’t need any more encouragement. We quickly made our way back up the stairs, taking care reached the top, we burst out into the open air, and I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. Where are the

are they?I asked, my eyes scanning the area for any sign of the bounty hunters

Caden pointed towards the east, and I nodded. Let’s go,I said, my voice low and determined

stay quiet and avoid being detected

Once we

We took off at a run, our footsteps pounding the pavement as we raced towards our quarry. The wind rushed past us, and I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins. I was in my element, and I knew that I could handle whatever these bounty hunters threw at us

We slowed down as we approached our targets, crouching behind some nearby bushes. We could see them ahead of us, moving through the trees in a tight formation. I could see the glint of their weapons in the moonlight, and I knew that we were in for a fight

I cautiously made my way towards the Rogues, each step calculated and deliberate. My senses were heightened, and every muscle in my body was tenise as I prepared myself for the light

The first Rogue charged at me, his eyes wild with fury as he lunged forward with his weapon. I sidestepped his attack, then quickly countered with a swift punch to his gur, causing him to double over in pain. With one quick movement, I slammed my knee into his face, and he crumpled to the ground, unconscious

Two more Rogues attacked me from behind, but I was ready for them. I spun around and delivered a powerful roundhouse kick to the first one’s face, sending him flying across the room. The second one lunged at me with a knife, but I was too quick for him. I dodged his attack and grabbed his arm, using his momentum to flip him over my shoulder and onto the ground
