Chapter 28
RAYA’S POV
1 did not give up right there and then. The horrors that my eyes had seen within that short amount of time was too great for me to give up at that
I was pounding on the door with all my might, shouting at the top of my lungs for the guards to open up. My hands were starting to ache with the effort, but I didn’t care. I had to get out there and run for dear life because it was clear from the foregoing that they were probably going to attack the Packhouse. I guessed it would be super easy for them, considering the way they had dealt with the guards as if they were dealing with kids. The sheer evil that they exuded was enough to make anybody run for their lives.
But despite my ranting and unfathomable fear that was displayed in my furious pounding and panic, the guards said nothing, didn’t even acknowledge my presence. They just stood there, stoic and unmoving, as if they were made of stone. I felt a surge of anger and frustration rise up
in me
Why wouldn’t they let me out? Why the f*ck weren’t they believing me even when it was clear that I looked utterly concerned. They didn’t even want to hear me out, as though I was known for being that dramatic. They had no idea how serious this was and I just hoped that I wouldn’t be forced into harm’s way when I tried to save the whole situation earlier.
1 pounded on the door even harder, until my hands were throbbing with pain. And then, as I was about to give up. I felt a sharp, stinging sensation in my shoulder. 1 looked down and saw a small trickle of blood flowing down my arm I had been wounded, but I didn’t even feel it at first.
m of blood was flowing from my I stumbled back, chitching my shoulder in agony, and that’s when I saw that I was already bleeding. A small stream punctured hand, staining my clothes and the ground beneath me. My heart sank. Why were these men so heady!
My hands ached from the constant pounding, but I refused to stop until they opened the door. I could hear the sound of their footsteps outside, but they refused to respond to my pleas
“Open the door!” I yelled, my voice echoing down the empty hallway. Let me out of here!”
But there was no answer. It was as if they had all disappeared into thin air.
Just as I was about to give up, the door suddenly creaked open. The two guards stood there, their faces twisted in annoyance.
is all the fuss about?” one of them asked, his voice laced with irritation
“What is
I stepped forward, ready to explain the situation, but before I could even utter a word, the other guard cut me off.
“Shut up and calm down,” he said, his tone menacing. “Or we’ll have to tie you up”
I bristled at his words, my fear and frustration boiling over into anger.
“You can’t tie me up!” I shouted. “I demand that you let me out of here right now!”
But my protests fell on deaf ears. The guard grabbed me roughly by the arm, his fingers digging into my flesh. I let out a scream of pain, but he didn’t seem to care.
Suddenly, we all heard a low growl, coming from somewhere deep within the bowels of the building. It was a sound like nothing I had ever heard before, a guttural rumble that sent chills down my spine.
I froze in fear, my heart racing in my chest. The guards, too, seemed unnerved by the sound.
“What was that?” one of them asked, his voice quavering-
But before anyone could answer, the growl turned into a roar. It was a sound that shook the very foundations of the building, causing the walls to tremble and the ground to shake.
I screamed, my hands covering my ears as the nose filled my head. The guards, too, were overwhelmed by the sound, their faces turning white
with lear.
And then, just as suddenly as it
as it had started, the roar stopped. There was a moment of silence as if the world was holding its breath.
And then, all hell broke loose
I turned back to the guards, my eyes blazing with fury. “Let me out?” I screamed, almost breaking down in tears. “Let me out now!”
But they just stood there, unmoving, as if they were deal to my words. I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead. What was going on here! Why were they so silent!

And then suddenly, one of the guards straightened up, his eyes widening in shock. I heard a low growl coming from the passageway behind him, and my heart skipped a beat 1 knew that sound. I knew what it meant.
I hugged myself in fear, my body trembling with apprehension. “They’re here.” I whispered, my voice barely audible.
The guards looked at me, confusion and fear etched on their faces. “Who’s here?” one of them asked. His eyes were apart and his brows came together inquisitively as he sniffed loudly.
“What is that smell?” the guard asked rhetorically, exchanging a very haunting look with the other guard.
“It smells roguish the other whispered before he stood up slowly, asking the guard to stay with me while he goes to check it out
My heartbeat had already skyrocketed at this point, it was already beating erratically behind my ribcage as I widened my eyes, staring at the front of me. I warned you”
“Shut up” he sneered in response.

But I said nothing. I couldn’t. My mouth had gone dry, and I felt like I was going to be sick. I just backed away, watching as the guard rushed out to the passageway, his footsteps echoing through the silence.
And then, he stopped. I saw him freeze, his body tensing up, and I knew that he had seen them. Whatever they were.
I felt the hair on my arms stand up, and I wanted to scream, to run away, to do anything to escape the terror that was gripping me. But I couldn’t move. I was rooted to the spot, my eyes fixed on the guard as he slowly turned back to face us,
And then, he spoke, his voice barely more than a whisper. “Run” he said. “Get out of here. Now.”
I didn’t need to be told twice. I turned and ran, my heart pounding in my chest, my feet pounding the ground as I sprinted for my life. I didn’t look back, didn’t want to see what was coming for me. I just ran, and ran, and ran,
As I ran I heard a strange sound behind me, a growling and snarling that seemed to be getting closer. I didn’t dare look back, but I could feel my heart racing faster and faster in my chest
And then, suddenly. I heard another sound, a ripping and tearing that made my blood run cold. It was the sound of flesh being torn apan, of bones being crushed. I knew then that something terrible was happening, something that I didn’t want to see.
But I couldn’t help myself. I turned back, just for a moment, and what I saw made me scream in terror. The guard who had been with me, the one who had shifted into his woll was lying on the ground, his body twisted and broken. And standing over him, a huge, monstrous creature, one of the strange, evil men that had shifted downstairs.
The beast was massive, easily twice my size, with fur the color of blood and eyes that glowed like hot coals. It was drooling, its massive jaws open wide, ready to tear me apart.
I stumbled back in fear, not knowing where to go or what to do, I felt like a mouse being stalked by a hungry cat, and I knew that there was nowhere to hide, nowhere to run
The beast approached me, slowly, stalking me with deliberate steps. I could feel the heat of its breath on my face, smell the stench of its fur. I knew that I was going to die, that there was no escape.
But then, suddenly, I heard another sound, a growling and snarling that was coming from behind me. I turned, just in time to see the second guard, the one who had been standing with me at the dour, shift into his wolf.
He launched himself at the beast, tackling it with all his might. The impact was incredible, a thunderous crash that shook the entire hallway. I felt like the world was ending like everything was being ripped apart by the force of the collision.
The beast and the guard fell back, tumbling to the end of the hallway in a tangled heap. I could hear their snarling and growling their teeth clashing together, their bodies slamming against each other with incredible force.

But then, suddenly, it was over. The beast had managed to get the upper hand, sinking his teeth into the guard’s throat and tearing it out with a single, savage bite.
The guard fell back, his body writhing in agony, his eyes glazing over as he died. The beast stood over it, panting and bleeding, his fur matted with sweat and blood before he looked at me, his eyes fierer and wild.
“Run” he growled. “Get out of here. Now?
Istood frozen in fear as the beast advanced towards me, its eyes fixed on nie like I was its prey. I didn’t know where to go or what to do. My heart was racing, and I could feel sweat trickling down my foreheadl
As I stumbled back in fear, the beast continued to toy with me It seemed to enjoy seeing the cower and cry, reveling in the terror that was etched across my face. It would lunge towards me and then pull back, watching me flinch and scream. I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare, unable to wake up of escape,
My heart was pounding in my chest as I tried to calm myself clown, but it felt like an impossible rask. Every time the beast growled or bared its teeth, my fear escalated to new heights. I was on the verge of breaking down completely, convinced that this was the end.
The beast circled around me, its eyes locked onto mine as if it was trying to decide the best way to attack. I could feel uncontrollably and my breaths coming in ragged gasps. I tried to take a step back, but my feet were rooted to the spot.
hands shaking
It was like I was frozen in place, completely at the mercy of this creature. I wanted to scream for help, to call out to anyone who might hear me, but my voice was stuck in my throat. I was alone, defenseless, and terrified.
But just as I turned back to run, I heard a terrible roar that made me stop dead in my tracks. The beast stopped too, and for a moment, there was
Bence.
Then in a flash. Alpha Asher appeared at the end of the hallway, looking very angry.
“Raya!” he yelled in our direction, a very bad scowl etched on his face. The look on his face already said a lot about what he was going to do
He lunged himself toward the beast, and I watched in awe as he tore it apart in a blur of fur and teeth. He moved so fast that it was like he was a blur, charging toward the beast with a primal fury that was both beautiful and terrifying. The beast didn’t stand a chance
As the beast steps towards me, Asher lunges forward in a blur of movement, his massive wall body moving with such grace and speed that it takes my breath away. The beast turns to face him, snarling and baring its sharp teeth, but Asher is undaunted. He circles the beast, his eyes never leaving its, watching for any sign of weakness.
The beast charges forward, aiming to knock Asher off his feet, but he’s too quick. He dodges to the side, moving with a fluidity that belies his size. In response, Asher slams his massive paw into the beast’s side, sending it crashing into the wall with a sickening thud.
For a moment, the beast is stunned, but it recovers quickly. It lunges forward again, claws extended, aiming for Asher’s throat. But dodging out of the way at the last moment and snapping his jaws around the beast’s hindquarters, tearing a chunk of flesh away.
the’s too quick.
The beast howls in pain and fury, spinning around to face Asher again. Its eyes are wild, its movements erratic as it tries to find an opening. But Asher is relentless, his movements precise and controlled. He circles the beast again, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
The beast charges forward again, but this time Asher is ready. He leaps into the air, his powerful jaws clamping down on the beast’s neck, tearing through flesh and bone with case. The beast howl in agony, thrashing and clawing at Asher, but it’s too late. With a final, vicious twist of his head, Astarr staps the beast’s neck, silencing its cries forever
Alpha Asher tore the beast apart with a savage ferocity that left me breathless. The sound of flesh tearing and bones breaking filled the hallway, and I could feel the blood spatter on my face and clothes. It was a gruesome sight, one that I would never be able to forget.
I was overwhelmed by the whole violent sight. I had never seen anything like that, and it scared me so much. Asher’s wolf panted while staring over the big, had woll

I wiped my tears away, trying to calm myself down. But even as I did so, my body still shook with fear. I had never felt so vulnerable and scared in my life.
Asher’s presence beside me was the only thing that kept me grounded. His hand still rested on my shoulder, and I felt like he was a lifeline that could hold onto.
He turned his head towards me, and his expression softened. “Are you okay, Raya?”
I nodded, still trembling. Tm…I’m fine. I’m just scared.”
“It’s okay,” he said, his voice soothing.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. Asher came towards me, and I flinched, thinking he was going to hum mo
But he just put a comforting hand on my shoulder. It’s okay,” he repeated. “I’m here now.”
I hugged Asher tightly, still shaking from the fear that had gripped me moments ago. It was weird to be holding him like this, considering we had always been at odds with each other. But in that moment, I didn’t care about our past disagreements. All I cared about was feeling safe and secure in his arms.
His body was ripped and muscular, and it felt so comforting against mine. I could feel his warmth and strength, and it made me feel protected. His scent was also very nice, a mix of musk and pine that was both calming and invigorating.
I closed my eyes and breathed in his scent, letting it fill me up and calm me down. It was strange to be feeling this way about Asher, but I could help it. In that moment, he was the only thing keeping me grounded.
I pulled away from him, feeling a little embarrassed about my behavior. But Asher didn’t seem to mind. He past gave me a small smile and squeezed my hand
The air was thick with the scent of blood and death. My heart was pounding in my chest as I took in the gruesome scene before me
|
The two guards lay motionless on the ground, their bodies twisted and contorted in unnatural ways. Blood pooled around them staining the pristine white marble floors a deep crimson. It was a scene straight out of a horror movie, but this was no betion
The beast that had attacked us was lying nearby, its body mangled and torn apart. The force of Alpha Asher’s attack had been too much for it ne handle, and it lay there as a testament to his power and fury.
I couldn’t help but feel a shiver run down my spine as I took in the sight. It was as if I was standing on the edge of a precipice, staring into the abyss
of death and destruction.
The air was heavy with the stench of fear and adrenaline, and my mind was racing with a thousand thoughts at once. How had this happened? Who was behind this attack? And most importantly, would we be safe now!
As I looked at the bloodied bodies before me, I knew that there was much more to this than what meets the eye. This was a battle, a fight ive survival, and the stakes were higher than ever before.
