Chapter 206
As Josiah spoke, he buried his face directly into the crook of Sienna’s neck, too shy to lift his head.
He was incredibly nervous.
He had never said anything so embarrassing before.
His heart was pounding so fast it felt like it might leap out of his throat.
Meanwhile, Sienna froze in place, staring blankly at the mirror in front of her. All she could see was Josiah’s tall frame and her own stunned expression.
“What did he just say? Like me? This has got to be the biggest joke of the century. Who’d believe that? Only an idiot, she thought.
After leaving FOUR HOURS, Sienna announced she was heading back to Sunshine Neighborhood.
They had only just made up, so Josiah wasn’t eager to part ways so soon. “Why are you going back? Tonight, we could…”
“I want to rest, to sleep,” Sienna interrupted before he could finish, leaning back in her seat with little energy.
Josiah glanced at the faint dark circles under her eyes. “You’re tired!”
“Yes,” Sienna said, turning to look at him. “And the reason I’m this exhausted? You’ve had quite the role in that. So, please, just let me go back and get some sleep. I haven’t had a good night’s rest in two days.”
Then, as if to prove her point, she yawned. “I’m really tired.”
Josiah still wasn’t satisfied, but he tried to be considerate. “How about you sleeping at Silver Beach? The environment there is better. Your place is so
Josiah” Sienna said, rolling her eyes. “Do you think that just because I agreed to reconcile, I’m supposed to treat you with smiles and sweetness immediately“”
After spending more time with him lately, Sienna had figured out that as long as she didn’t mention breaking up or bringing up his first crush, he was actually pretty easy to deal with.
“If that’s what you think, drop the idea. The day you insulted me? I’m still not over it,” she stated.
The day I i
insulted you…” Josiah stammered, trying to argue.
“Yes? Sienna raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t that right?”
Josiah admitted reluctantly.
He had called her arrogant, domineering, and willful.
“Hmph” Sienna snorted, curling her lips into a smirk. She leaned back, closing her eyes. Just take me back to Sunshine Neighborhood!
“Fine.” Sanna was sull mad. No matter how much Josiah wanted to protest, he could only agree to take her home.
When the car pulled up outside the gates of Sunshine Neighborhood, Sienna stopped him. “It’s okay. If you drive in, the security guards will scop you to quration and register your details. It’s too much trouble”
In reality, the was worried that if he drove in, he might run into Joyce
Tara usqally took Joyce out for a stroll around this time in the afternoon, and the chances of them crossing paths were too high.
Grabbing her tag she opened the door and jogged into the neighborhood.
“Slone down” Jonah called after her, sticking his head out the car window, “Let me know when you’re home. Call me or text nie”
wand her hand without looking back, her voice carried off by the cold winter breeze.

From his vantage point, he could see her wearing the fiery red down jacket she had just picked up from FOUR HOURS. Her long hair was loose, fluttering in the wind
“Beautiful. Yes, absolutely stunning, Josiah muttered to himself. It wasn’t until her figure disappeared that he reluctantly pulled his gaze away and
started the cat.
He drove slowly, pondering where to go next. Originally, he had planned to spend the whole day with Sienna,
Tapping his fingers against the steering wheel, his thoughts were interrupted when his eyes caught something, and he slammed on the brakes. Is that who I think it is? Did I see that right?‘ he wondered, his heart skipping a beat.
Josiah reversed the car a short distance, taking a closer look. This time, there was no doubt. It was Joyce. He hadn’t been mistaken.
Sunshine Neighborhood, sinuated near the river circling the city, didn’t have particularly outstanding facilities. But right next to it was a large park. Every afternoon. Tara would bring joyce here to play.
They were often joined by a few other kids from the neighborhood who were around the same age.
Some were accompanied by their grandparents, while others had their nannies with them.
The kids clustered together, playing noisily and joyfully. Meanwhile, the adults sat nearby, keeping an eye on the children while chatting leisurely. Among the group of children, there we
were only two girl, one of whom was Joyce. She was beautiful and charming, making her quite popular. Right now, a boy named Seth was trying to impress her. “Joyce, here, have some candy”
Seth was holding out a piece of candy in his palm, wrapped in a beautifully decorated wrapper that Joyce hadn’t seen before. “Is this good?” she
asked.
“Yeah, it’s really good. Seth nodded. He unwrapped the candy very gentlemanly. Joyce, open your mouth.
Joyer obediently opened her mouth and let him place the candy inside.
“Ts it good?” Seth asked eagerly,
“Yeah,” Joyce smiled, her eyes bright. “It’s sweet and sour, really good. I’ve never had this kind of candy before.
“Do you like it” Seth beamed. “Ill bring you more tomorrow. My dad brought these back from his business trip”
“We’ve got a lot more at home. I’ll bring you two pieces tomorrow. No, five pieces… Seth held up his chubby little hands, counting his fingers awkwardly.
But Joyce was puzzled by some of the words he had used. She tilted her head and asked curiously, “Your dad! What’s a dad“”
Seth was confused too. “It’s just my dad!”

Seth was about to answer when a voice interrupted. “Come here, Seth

“Hi. Joyce.” A tall figure appeared before her, crouching down to her level. It was Josials, who had noticed her from the car and turned around to

Josiah gave a big smile. “Do you retuber mul

“es” joyer nodded. “You’re the one who wrote me the letters and bought me strawberry milk. Sir, hello.”
“Good job” Josiah said, reaching up and gently ruffling her head.
Joyce was wearing a cute bear hat with two plush cars sticking out from the top-
She looked adorable, but her expression seemed to show some unhappiness.
Joyer, what’s wrong?” Josiah asked. Although he didn’t usually like kids, he had an unusual patience when it came to Joyce. “Why aren’t you happy?”
“Sir, I’m not unhappy.” Joyce replied, shaking her head.
Her expression was a mix of confusion and seriousness. “Sir, does every child have a mom and… a dad?”
Josiah was momentarily taken aback by the question. He was surprised.
“Of course, he replied, nodding.
“Then Joyce still had more to ask. “Are moms and dads a pair?”
“Yes,” Josiah replied, suppressing a smile.
Joyce asking this question is just too cute, he thought to himself.
“With a mom and dad, that’s how you were born, Joyce,” he explained

why is she asking this? Josiah wondered.
