Chapter 13
Alter Maren woke up, Kaleb went to the ward alone.
It took halt an hour to get there.
Carly was on pins and needles, thinking only about how to get through it by deceiving others
When Kaleb emerged with a stern face, Carly looked up and met his gaze.
My heartbeat quickened, and my speech began to stutter. “Dail, how are Mom and Dad?”
Kaleb’s face turned pale as he stated fixedly at the woman in front of him.
“Don’t call me dad!”
“Do you take our whole family for tools?”
She had seen her father get angry before, no matter how she tried to confort herself, she would still tinch when she heard his yelling.
She lost the momentum she had just had at home arguing with Maren, and her eyes immediately turned red. Kaleb has always been a
person of few words.
“No, I genuinely took it for you and mom.”
This statement is fine when said to Maren, but when said to him, it is completely useless.
“We have been together for so many years, I will let you leave with dignity.”
“From now on, you were no longer our daughter, the Nielsen family.”
His tace had no expression, Carly knew he was serious,
She burst into tears in an instant, and ever since she was little, whenever she cried, her parents would always give in.
“Dad, how could you treat me like this?”
She was scared.
Afraid to leave this home, she had been living her life relying on Julia’s identity all these years.
She couldn’t accept that she had nothing.
But she forgot how much Kaleb used to date on her, and now how much he despises her.
He even refused to look at her for a moment
Even if kneeling on the ground.
“Don’t let me see you again.”
This was the last thing Kaleb said to Carly.
Ten minutes later, news of Carly being kicked out of her home had already spread throughout the community.
Kaleb himself came out to declare that Carly had no further involvement with them.
She was firmly nailed to the pillar of shame, and everyone knew she was a fraud.
People who used to dislike her also started openly discussing her.
Those people whom she looked down upon, also began to mock
She looked at the news on her phone, seeming to cry and smile at the same time.
Even she couldn’t believe it, everything she had, just today, was gone.
She, now, is like a rat crossing the street.
Anyone who saw it could curse a few times. Sitting on the bench, looking at the door, a fire ignited in her heart.
She hated it, she hated this hypocritical family.
She was unwilling, why could Julia still have what she used to have now?
Why did you treat her like this?
She secretly vowed in her heart that she would regain everything that belonged to her.
Kaleb sat by Maren’s bedside, looking at her pale face.
It was the appearance she hadn’t seen for a long time, and it was a bi
bit heartbreaking.
She stared blankly at Kaleb, and when Julia was
as mentioned, she couldn’t help but wake up with tears.
Which mother doesn’t love her child?
But she insisted on making her suffer for so many years,
Kaleb’s mouth was comforting, but he also knew how Julia had been living all these years.
When they heard the whole truth, it was like a bolt from the blue. They felt uneasy in their hearts, and the two of them locked eyes, both understanding
Maren asked Kaleb, struggling to keep her eyes open.
“Do you think Julia will forgive us?”
Kaleb gave her a slight smile and nodded.
After Maren fell asleep, he stood in the corridor and smoked a cigarette.
Unable to
find Julia, which was her answer to them. After being kicked out of the house, Carly had no choice but to pack her belongings and find a place to stay.
She had already chosen someone in her heart.
And he arrived at Colton’s doorstep early.
“Colton, it’s me, I came to find you.”
