Chapter 15
“Abigail, I’m here! I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault for not arriving in time, letting that scumbag steal your cornea!”
“Jac, is that you?” Abigail’s eyes couldn’t focus, and her hand reached out aimlessly.
Jacinta was struck with a heavy blow, quickly grabbing her hand. “What happened to your eyes? What’s going on?”
Abigail felt a sense of relied when she found out it was Jacinta and comforted her, “Don’t worry. It’s just remporary blindness. It will get better in a couple of days.”
“How could this happen?” Jacinta grew anxious. “This has never happened before!”
Previously, her blindness had been briet, but now it lasted much longer!
Jacinta glanced at Abigail’s medical records, the medication, and the TV fluids she was receiving. Her face grew darker.
There was no doubt that the emotional shock had worsened Abigail’s condition.
“Eric is such a jerk!” Jacinta gritted her teeth, her eyes reddening.
Abigail reached out in the air, calling. “Ix.”
Jacinta tightly grasped her hand, unsure of what to say, feeling a deep sadness in her heart.
“It’s okay,” Abigail said softly. “This has only made me more determined to divorce him.”
“I want to kill him!” Jacinta seethed “How could he do this to you?
Abigail’s expression darkened, and she fell silent.
When one didn’t love someone, treating them however one wanted was easy. In Eric’s eyes, she was probably no different from a stray cat or dog.
Eric frowned, quickly walking down the stairs. He dialed a number for his bodyguard and ordered him to find out Abigail’s whereabouts.
He felt uneasy for someon
Suddenly, he saw a familiar figure. He stopped, I
d, his gaze sharp as he stared in a certain direction.
The tall man suddenly raised his head, revealing a handsome face with a bag of food in his hand. It was Ryan
Ryan seemed not to notice him, walking past without looking
Eric asked coldly, “What are you doing here?”
Ryan stopped and turned to face him. “This is a hospital. Does it mean only you can come, and I can’t?”
“What’s your relationship with Abigail? Eric turned, his gaze turning piercing.
Ryan looked at him calmly. “This is my private matter, and I don’t think I owe you an explanation.”
“Don’t let me find out that you’ve deliberately approached her, Eric warned with a frosty glare. “Abigail is my wife. Don’t blame me for being ruthless if you have improper Intentions toward her!”
With that, Eric walked away.
Ryan watched him leave, his expression still as calm as ever. He pashed open the ward door and saw a woman sitting by the bed.
Jacinta didn’t recognize Ryan. Seeing him standing at the door, she instinctively asked, “Did you get the wrong ward?”
“No,” he replied, closing the door behind him as he stepped inside. “I’m a friend of Abigail”
Surprised by his elegant appearance and demeanor, she was taken aback. She wondered when Abigail had gotten to know someone like him.
She turned to her. “Abigall, is he really your friend?”
Abigail nodded. “Let me introduce you. This is my friend, Ryan Gomez Ryan, this is my best friend and attending doctor, Jacinta Bennett.”
“Dr. Bennett, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” Ryan said, extending his hand. “Thank you for always talong care of Abigail.”
The way he spoke felt strange to Jacinta, but she couldn’t quite place what was odd. She shook his hard politely. “It’s nothing. It’s all part of my job.”
