Chapter 17
Realizing she had said something inappropriate, Nicole quickly corrected herself. “Sorry, Erle, I shouldn’t have bothered you. You must be very busy. I’m just scared of being alone in the hospital. It’s fine; you go ahead with your work. I’ll be fine on my own.”
Seeing her obedient demeanor, Erie added, “You have a nurse with you, so it’s fine. If you need anything, just call me anytime.”
“Okay, Landerstand,” she said with a smile and nodded.
After leaving the ward, he suddenly thought about his encounter with Ryan at the hospital, Ryan wouldn’t have appeared there without reason, maybe he was there to visit Abigail.
So, was Abigail in the hospital?
He changed direction and went to check the hospital’s admission records. Of course, it took some effort to get access.
He confirmed that Abigail had been admitted, but she had been discharged that day.
After leaving the hospital, Eric drove back to the villa,
Peter Chapman, his butler, say him wall in and hurried over, “Mr. Gomez, you’re back.”
“Has she returned?” Eric asked while heading inside.
“Who?” Peter was momentarily confused, then realized he meant Abigall. He shook his head. “Mrs. Gomez hasn’t returned.”
Eric stopped abruptly.
She hasn’t returned? Could it be that she’s with Byan?
Eric sneered and pulled out his phone to dial Abigail’s ember.
At that moment, Abigail and Jacinta had just arrived at Jacinta’s home. While Jacinta went to pour water for her, her phone rang.
Looking down, she saw it was a call from Eric, and she hung up without hesitation.
Then, after a moment’s thought, she composed a message and sent it. “Please sign the divorce agreement as soon as possible.”
Jacinta handed her the cup of water. “What’s wrong? Did that jerk call you?”
“Yes,” Abigail replied, sipping the water before opening the medicine bag to take her pills.
Jacinta scolded. “Where was he all this time? That two–faced scoundrel! Don’t you dare go soft on him! You need to cut ties this time completely”
“Don’t worry. I won’t be soft–hearted anymore,” Abigail whispered.
Being soft–hearted toward someone who didn’t care about her was the inflicting torture on herself.
Jacinta saw it was almost time to go to work and reminded her, “You should rest a bit. I’ll order some takeout.‘
“No thanks. I’m not hungry. You go ahead and work.” Abigail shook her head, understanding Jacinta was busy and didn’t want to bother her too much.
Alter giving a few more instructions, Jacinta hurried off to work
When Abigail woke up from her nap, it was already 4:00 pm. Her head throbbed a little, and her vision was blurry at first, but it cleared up after a while.
The two days of blindness had made her fully experience the fear and pain that came with not being able to see. She had to get her eyes healed no matter what.
For several days, Abigail remained out of contact. Eric’s calls and messages went unanswered. She seemed unwilling to discuss anything except the
divorce.
For the first time, he felt frustrated.
What new trick was she playing now?
Derrick’s friend sent over an invitation in a birthday banquet, so Derrick specifically called Eric “T’ve been unwell lately, so I won’t attend the banquet You take Abigail and go in my place.”
Eric frowned. “We’ll see!
