Stunned by the slap, Nicole immediately fumed angrily and tried to slap back.
Suddenly, a series of footsteps approached. She let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
“Ms. Reed, why did you hit me? What did I do to upset you?” Nicole’s voice sounded aggrieved.
Abigail frowned, sensing something was off. Although she had slapped Nicole with force, it shouldn’t have locked her to the floor. She had heard a thud just now
As she was about to speak, she heard more footsteps approaching,
“What’s going on? What happened?” Eric’s voice suddenly echoed.
At that moment, Abigail realized what had happened.
He saw Nicole sitting on the floor, her face marked with a red handprint and her eyes swollen. He frowned slightly. “What are you doing here?”
She quickly explained, “Teame to visit a friend. I didn’t expect to run into Ms. Reed in the restroom. When I realized she was blind, I wanted to help her,
She lowered her head with a regrethal expression. “It’s my fault. I must have said something wrong and upset her.”
Eric extended his hand. “Get up”
Nicole smiled faintly and grabbed his hand to stand up
“Why did you hit Nicole?” He looked at Abigail, his tone hinting at displeasure
Abigail replied coldly, “Because she’s shameless.”
His face darkened slightly. “Abigal…”
“Eric!” Nicole quickly grabbed his sleeve. “Ms. Reed must have become irritable because of her blindness. Please don’t blame her.”
She turned to Abigail. “Ms. Herd ”
“Move aside, Abigail said expressionlessly.
Erie furrowed his brow. “Abigal…”
Abigail crouched down, feeling around for her care on the ground.
Nicole tried to pick it up for her, but be grabbed the cane quickly. He tried to hold her hand instead of handing to Abigail right away.
However, Abigail was very familiar with him, even his hand. She immediately pulled her hand away from his grasp.
Nicole’s expression darkened upon seeing her action.
What an ungrateful bitch!
“Give me the cane!” Abigall said coldly.
Eric’s face grew tense, but he still handed her the cane. She took it, ripping her way out of the restroom.
Nicole looked at him with an aggrieved expression. “Eric…”
“Go back for now,” he said indifferently, then followed Abigail.
“Don’t you owe me an explanation for what just happened” Encasled
Abigail sneered. “I said she’s shameless. Didn’t you hear? If you don’t want your sweetheart to get hurt, don’t let her appear in front of me again!”
“What sweetheart? Why are you speaking so harshly? I’ve already explained it to you. She’s just my junior from college.”
“How am I to know if this is some sort of special bond between you two?‘ she said mockingly. “I don’t care what your relationship is, and I’m not interested. I just want a divorce.”
The mention of divorce immediately soured Eric’s expression. He quickly changed the subject. “I’ll have someone find a cornea for you. Let me take you back first.”
Then, he tried to put his arm around her shoulders, but she suddenly pulled away.
