Chapter 42
“I don’t want to go back with ym. I want to leave,” Abigail said.
Eric looked at her with a calm expression. “Leave? Where do you plan to go? To Jacinta’s place? You can’t see now; wouldn’t that just trouble her? Why bother? Abigail, step being so stubborn. You need help, don’t you?”
“No matter how much help I need, I don’t need your pity!” Her face twisted with disgust. “Isn’t it your fault I’m like this? Are you trying to soothe your conscience this way?
His expression darkened. “So it’s my fault for spoiling you? Don’t push your luck.”
“Ob? Stock a nerve, did 1?” Abigail sneered. “Didn’t think you would ever be so rattled.”
He didn’t respond, instead grabbing her hand and pulling her forward.
She fought back fiercely. “Let go of me! I told you I’m not going back with you!”
“Let go of her!” Ryan walked over and shoved Eric aside, stepping in front of Abigail. His cold gaze was fixed on Fric “Didn’t she say she doesn’t want to go back with you? Didn’t you hear her?”
|_ “Ryan?” Ahigall froze for a moment as she heard his voice.
“It’s me
Ryan took her hand, reassuring her. “I’m here. Don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you.”
Eric’s expression turned grim when he saw their hands intertwined. His sharp eyes locked onto Ryan. “I warned you before, but you’ve completely forgotten!”
“Why are you forcing her when she don’t want to go with you?” Ryan stared directly into his eyes without fear.
“My business with her doesn’t concen you” Erie’s face darkened. “Let go of her hand!”
Ryan wanted to speak, but Eric threw a punch. He didn’t manage to dodge in time and took the punch, groaning in pain.
“Ryan?” Abigail gasped. “Are you hurt? What happened?”
She fumbled with her bands, reying to touch his face. Erie coldly watched her and grabbed her hand, pulling her back to his side.
He looked at Ryan with a frosty expression. “This is just a small lesson. You won’t be so lucky next time!”
He then pulled Abigail away with him.
Ryan’s expression darkened as he tried to chase after them, but the bodyguards stopped him.
“Let go of me! Eric, what did you do to Ryan? Did you hit him?”
Eric’s face darkened as he shoved her into the car. He growled, “Shut up! I don’t want to hear you say his name ever again!”
She bit her lower lip. “Eric, don’t make me hate you!”
“You can hate me all you want. You’ve probably hated me long ago, haven’t you?” Ene laughed nonchalantly. “Ryan this, Ryan that. You sound so affectionate. I never knew you two were so close.”
His face darkened as he entered the car, coldly ordering the driver, “Drive!”
The driver didn’t dare to say anything, starting the car engine.
Abigail was once again trapped in the cage that confined her. Her phone had also been confiscated, leaving her unable to contact anyone. She was stuck here, filled with anxiety
Jacinta tried repeatedly to sneak in but was caught by the bodyguards and driven away each time
Alter racking her brain, she still couldn’t find a way to see Abigail and had no choice but to go to Ryan,
She took a deep breath and asked, “Do you have a way to get Abigail out?”
Ryan said calmly, “I have a plan. It just depends on whether it works. “You actually have a plan?” She was surprised. “Can you tell me what it is?”
