“I can’t make it,” Abigail stated emotionlessly.
Derrick was indeed nice to her, but considering she would meet plenty of people she disliked at the dinner–especially Eric’s uncle and his family—she refused to go.
They had never gotten along with Eric, and on top of that, his cousin disliked Abigail and would inevitably cause trouble whenever they met.
When she first married Eric, she thought her only responsibility was to be a dutiful wife and please his uncle’s side of the family. In the end, she got cold indifference in return
Now, with her mind set on divorcing Eric, she was even less inclined to attend the family dinner..
“I’ll make time to visit Grandpa in the future.”
“In the future?” Eric argued, “In the future, you’ll need my permission to leave the house. Without it, you can’t go anywhere.”
Abigail burst into a dry chuckle. “So, does that mean you won’t let me see Grandpa, too?”
“I’ll take you to see him tonight.” Eric left after that.
Her countenance turned grim. At that, Nancy consoled her, “Mrs. Gomez, he simply still regards you as part of the Gomez family and doesn’t want you to miss the family dinner. He means well.
“Besides, he’s never been good at communicating From what I can tell lately, he still cares a lot about you.”
“You think so?” Abigail laughed self–deprecatingly.
Well, she couldn’t blame Nancy for assuming that. She had worked at the Gomez residence for years–basically watched Eric grow up–and naturally sided with him.
“I wanna go back in Nancy, please,” she said faintly.
Nancy quickly affirmed, “Oh, sure.”
Abigailler like a papper on Eric’s strings. She had no choice but to comply whenever he needed her.
With the issue with her eyesight, he couldn’t divorce her just yet, for fear of being gossiped about. So, was he parading her around to show her off? An indescribable weve of anger surged within her.
The evening, Nancy came to help Abigail with her hair and even brought her a sage green evening gown.
“This is an exquisite dress Mr. Gomez has custom–made for you. Why don’t you try it on, Mrs. Gomez?” she asked cautiously.
Abigall felt a wave of disgust in her heart, but she knew there was no escaping it. She was completely under Eric’s control and couldn’t refuse any of his
All she could do was wear the gown and allow Nancy to style her hair.
Sary didn’t do much, though. She simply gathered her hair into an elegant updo and adorned her with some jewelry. Makeup wasn’t something she was goda, bu Aipal’s nature beauty was enough; even without makeup, it didn’t make a difference.
“org, Mrs. Comes,” Nancy complimented earnestly. “Your future child with Mr. Gomez will be a good–looking kid!”
sexy’s ter was devoid of emotions, and she stayed silent. Peletedly realizing the fault in her words, Nancy smiled awkwardly and said, “Mr. Gomez is weting for you downstairs. Here, let me help you.”

When Say arrived Gownsters, Erik rose to his feet and took Abigail’s hand from Nancy’s, “It’s about time. Let’s go.”
“Why you boy, your carriery with you?” Abigail suddenly remarked, “Or did you realize how inappropriate it was to bring your mistress to a Casully peering That’s why you need me to play the part with you.”
“O you taking do?” frowned. “Since when has Nicole become my mistress? Where did you hear that from?”
stogel corked why, and without a word, she struggled out of his grip. “I can walk by myself.”
