igail wasn’t planning on becoming Eric’s secretary at all. All she wanted was a chance to enter Gomez Group so that it would make her investigation However, since Eric was offering her the secretary position, it all worked out great. After all, a secretary could get more classified information.
Derrick asked, “What do you think, Abby? If you don’t like it, you can choose another role. I’ll back you up.”
“There’s no need for that, Grandpa,” she said while shaking her head. “I think being a secretary is great, so let’s go with it.”
Derrick smiled, thinking that the reason why she suddenly wanted to work at Gomez Group was because she wanted to be close to Eric. It seemed to Derrick that she intended to fix her marriage. Since she was going to be Eric’s secretary, their relationship would definitely be taken to the next level.
With that thought in mind, Derrick was grinning brightly. “Alright, it’s decided then! Eric, since this is Abby’s first time working as a secretary, she doesn’t have any experience. So, make sure you teach her everything you can, and don’t be too harsh on her, alright?”
Eric nodded. “Don’t worry, Grandpa. I know what to do.”
When they were leaving the Gomez residence, Eric asked Abigail, “Why do you want to work so suddenly? Do you really just want something to do?” “Why else would I want to work?” She shot him a glance.
Then, he said calmly, “I thought you were worried about Nicole and wanted to keep your eyes on me at the company.”
When she heard that, she was dumbfounded. Since she didn’t know how to respond to that, she decided to just keep her mouth shut. Abigail wouldn’t care how he interpreted the situation as long as he wouldn’t interrupt her investigation.
When he noticed that she wasn’t saying anything, he thought she was tacitly admitting to it. “If you really care that much about her, I can transfer her away.”
“No,” she said. “Let’s just leave it as it is.”
“Alright. In that case, let’s make something clear first. The company is a place for work. Once you’re there, make sure to do your job properly.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Gomez. I’m not going to bring you any trouble,” she said with a subtle hint of sarcasm.
When the car stopped, she got out of the vehicle first. As Eric watched her leave, he had a feeling that she was a little mad.
After Abigail got out of the shower, she was prepared to take her medication before bed. Then, she saw Eric walking into the room.
“Hold on.” She called him and said with a frown, “What are you doing in here?”
He answered with a raised eyebrow, “Well, isn’t this my room?”
When she lost her vision, her temper was terrible. So, she hated having him around, and they had to sleep separately. Since her eyes had recovered at that moment, he figured they should sleep together again.
“Go back to the room where you’ve always slept,” she said with a frown.
“What do you mean by this?” He looked at her and said calmly, “Are you suggesting that we sleep separately now?”
“That’s right.” She looked straight at him. “Although I’m not bringing up the divorce, it doesn’t mean that I’ve accepted you. Before that happens, we’re sleeping in different rooms.”
Eric’s voice became colder. “This is my house, and you’re in my room!”
“You’re right. In that case, I’ll move out of here.” After saying that, she immediately opened the wardrobe and pulled out her suitcase.
Eric looked at her with a deep frown and finally compromised. “Fine. If you want to sleep separately, then let’s do that.” Then, he harrumphed coldly and turned to leave the room.
Abigail let out a breath of relief and went to the door to lock it. After all the pain he had brought her, there was no way she could just forget it and live happily with him. If she weren’t going to investigate Conner’s matter, she would’ve brought up the divorce long ago.
Abigail lay on the bed and called Jacinta.
“Abby? How are you feeling now? Lenny has told me that your eyes have recovered, is that true?”
