Chapter 260
“Ah!” Too focused on listening to the phone. Sienna misstepped and ended up with her right foot sinking straight into a puddle. The biting cold of the winter immediately enveloped the sole of her foot
Her white sneakers were completely soaked. In a panic, she quickly picked them up, and water sloshed around inside. The coldness went right through her.

Sienna hadn’t forgonen about the call but when she picked up her phone, she realized the call had already
ue that no
none of these guesses were right.
Sienna thought, Who was it! A wrong number! A prank? Or some random annoying ad?” She had a feeling
“Sienna!” Josiah had arrived. His car was parked at the side of the road, and he was rushing over to her, grabbing her hand. “Let’s go.”
Josiah opened the door for her. However, Sienna didn’t rush to get in. She grabbed his arm, saying, “Wait a second
“What’s wrong?” asked he
Sienna didn’t answer. She held onto his arm with one hand while carefully pulling off her wet shoe. It was then that Josiah noticed her shoe was soaked. “How did you do that? Did you fall!”
“No.” Sienna shook her head. “I wasn’t paying attention and stepped into the puddle.”
Josiah took the wet shoe from her and helped her into the car.
Zaid was driving, Josiah gently held Sienna’s foot, and she instinctively pulled it back “What are you doing
“What do you mean? Josiah chuckled. Tm taking off your socks for you. Your shoes are soaked. Do you think your socks are still dry!”
“I know. Sienna felt a bat embarrassed and glanced at Zaid. “I’ll do it myself.
“Don’t move.” Josiah wasn’t about to let her go. He grabbed her ankle and swiftly yanked off her socks. “What’s the big deal? I’ve done it before anyway
“Hey!” Sienna blushed instantly. “Watch what you’re saying!
Josiah paused, realizing what she meant. Girls had delicate feelings, after all. He smirked. “Got it, I’ll be quiet.”
Sienna was about to pull her foot back, but Josiah didn’t let her. He frowned, clearly displeased. Don’t move. Your foot is freezing. This isn’t even
normal”
“It’s not that bad.” Sienna frowned in response. “Most women are easy to feel cold, and so am I. No matter how warm the shoes are, they never stay
warm.
“Is that so!” Josiah glanced at her other foot. “So, you’re telling me that one is the same–cold as ice
“Pretty much. That foot hadn’t been in freezing water, so it was still a little better.
Tll take a look” Before Sienna could even feel embarrassed, Josiah had already bent down and quickly grabbed her other foot, swiftly removing her shoe and sock
Sienna bit her lips, her face burning with embarrassment. “What’s there to look at?”
“Yep, just as cold as the other one” Josiah’s warm palm covered her foot, and Sienna felt a slight tickling sensation, shrinking her foot back.
“Stop moving” Josiah’s face darkened slightly, but his tone remained gentle. “Your feet are ice cold. Let me warm them up.”
Sienna wasn’t sure what Josiah meant, but then, she watched as he reached toward his waist. What is he doing?” She thought, wide–eyed, as he lifted his shirt and, with both hands, gently placed her feet against his stomach
Sienna froze for a moment, her eyes wide with shock as she stared at his handsome face, now only inches away.
Is that warm enough?” Josiah raised his gue to smile at her, his sharp features softened in the dim light.
In that instant, Sienna’s nose felt inexplicably tight with emotion because the last person who had warmed her feet like this was her grandmother,
“Hey, I’m asking you a question,” Josiah grinned, clearly hoping for some praise. “Am I doing a good job?”

Sienna nodded, her voice barely audible. She didn’t dare speak too much, afraid that if she did, some of the emotions inside her would slip out uncontrollably.
Not getting the praise he expected, Josiah felt a little disappointed. With a twinkle in his eyes, he mischievously said. “Do you have a stinky foot.
babe?”
“What?” Sienna was surprised, feeling uncertain. She had never paid attention to that
She mumbled, “No one has ever told me my feet stink.”
“Silly girl” Josiah held back his laughter, speaking seriously, “Who would say your feet stink to your face? They’d definitely talk behind your back.”
Sienna was a bit confused and somehow agreed with him.
“They’re not like me” Josiah was enjoying himself. “I always say it straight out
“You’re talking nonsense! Sienna was embarrassed. “Let me smell them.”
She was struggling to pull her foot away.
“I’ll do it!” Josiah couldn’t hold back any longer, grabbing her foot and bringing it to his nose, taking a deep breath. “Mmm… They smell great!”
Sienna was taken aback for a moment and then realized that he was playing a trick on her. “You’re so annoying!” She simply kicked him with her foot. “Don’t do that again“”
“I just couldn’t help it. Your cute foot is smaller than my palm.” Josiah laughed, holding her foot and placing a kiss on it, his dark eyes gleaming in the dimly lit car. “Your foot doesn’t stink. It’s so fragrant.”
Sienna’s back stiffened and her hair stood on end as he kissed her foot. She lowered her voice, glancing at Zaid. “Don’t..”
“What are you afraid of?” Josiah wasn’t embarrassed at all. “Zaid can’t see us
Sienna rolled her eyes.
Zaid played along, “Mr. Flynn is right. Ms. Shaw, I don’t have eyes in the back of my head. I can’t see anything You don’t have to mind me.”
“See?” Josiah leaned in, his forehead touching hers. He triumphantly raised his eyebrows at her with a smile.
They were so close to each other dut Sienna could see each of his eyelashes. His eyes were slightly lowered and his beautiful thin lips curved into a gentle are in the soft car light.
Sienna’s heart skipped a beat, suddenly remembering that what she had liked about him back then was his appearance. His charming and noble appearance could captivate anyone.
Back then, she didn’t know that men like him were like poison wrapped in honey–he would drag her into an abyss.
The next morning, while Sienna was still asleep, she heard Josiah getting up. He moved quietly, trying not to wake her, not even bothering to turn on the light.
When he finally finished getting ready and left, Sienna opened her eyes, her sleep gone.
Suddenly, a surge of resentment rose within her. She thought, ‘Why is he so gentle and considerate now? Why hadn’t he shown me even a shred of care all those years ago!”
She threw off the blanket and quickly tied up her long hair, heading to the bathroom. She needed to get to Sunshine Neighborhood early and still have time to eat breakfast with Joyce.
After leaving Silver Beach, Sienna ordered a ride through an app and headed to Sunshine Neighborhood.
When Sienna got out of the car, she passed by a pharmacy. After a brief hesitation, she bought a pregnancy test. She knew it might not be accurate yet since it wasn’t the best time, and she would still need a blood test for confirmation.
However, she just wanted to check and to have some clarity. She was desperate to get pregnant.
