“Grandma, you seem unusually sympathetic toward the Cooper family. Am I right? Levi said, his sharp intuition immediately picking up on Isabella’s unusual tone.

With a mysterious chuckle, Isabella replied, “Some things are better left unsaid, little guy.” She was still investigating a few things and didn’t want to get Levi’s hopes up prematurely.

After hanging up. Levi instructed Jack to bring his laptop and files to Noble Garden Complex. He didn’t return to the office but sat in the living room to handle business affairs from there.

Levi had just sent off an email. He glanced up at her and asked. This is my house. Why would I leave?”

Even though Zoey liked attractive people, she wasn’t someone who would be ungrateful. Levi had treated her so well, and she wanted to repay him properly.

Levi let out a helpless laugh. “You’re only making it worse.” He thought to himself, This silly girl has already decided I must be ugly. Trying not to hurt my pride, she kept complimenting my character but not my appearance. What a naive girl.

Levi suddenly felt like teasing her and decided to play along. “You’re right. I’m pretty ugly. Why else would I still be single at this age?” he said with an evil grin.

“Square face, tiny eyes, a flat nose, and a double chin Levi said, exaggerating every unflattering feature he could think of

Zoey took a deep breath, trying to reassure herself. Okay, that’s not too bad, she thought with a calm mind.

But Levi wasn’t done yet, he added, “And scars all over my face, pockmarked like the surface of the moon.
