Levi watched Zoey’s figure and replayed her words in his mind. Suddenly, he felt a surge in his lower abdomen. After years of self–restraint, he had never experienced such feelings.
He loosened his tie and downed a large glass of cold water, forcing himself to suppress the surge of heat that had crept up
on him
Once Zoey recovered from her illness, she came to Levi with a request to return to school. “I’m worried if I miss too much, I won’t be able to catch up,” she said.
Brandor University of Finance and Economics was one of the top universities in the country, and the courses were notoriously tough. If she missed too many classes, she might fail multiple courses by the end of the term.
“Are you sure you’re ready? I heard you coughing just a minute ago. Levi asked with a glance at her.
Zoey’s throat still itched, but she held back from coughing and added. “I can take care of myself now, and I should be able to attend class”
Feeling her determination, Levi gave in with a pod. “Alright, if you’re sure, then go ahead.”
Her university was conveniently located near Noble Garden, making it easy to get to and from classes. “Should I move back to the dorms? Zoey asked hesitantly.
With a casual smile and tone, Levi replied, “Are you planning to trave me here all alone every night, darling?”
Zoey’s cheeks flushed instantly, and she shook her head to explain. “No, that’s not what I meant. But after denying it, she felt like she’d come across as too eager. She bit her soft lips, her face full of inner conflict
Noticing her flustered state, Levi couldn’t help but reach out and gently ruffle her fluffy hair. Even he was a little surprised by his own action. Clearing his throat, he said. “I’ve got work at the office. I gotta go

For the past few days, Levi had been staying at Noble Garden Complex, and every morning when Zoey woke up, she could sense his presence working in the living room. She never dared to disturb him and instead would silently bring him a glass
of water.
Now that he suddenly left, the house felt eerily quiet, and Zoey found herself a little unused to it. Still, there wasn’t much time to dwell on her feelings. ‘Mr. Horton has agreed to let me go back to school I need to start preparing right away, Zory thought.
Her cold hadn’t fully cleared up, so she put on a mask and headed out. Since her eyes couldn’t handle bright light, Levi had someone prepare a pair of sunglasses for her, which covered most of her face.
When she walked into the classroom dressed like that, it naturally caused a stir among her classmates Whispers and curious looks followed her every step.
A man in the first row turned around and whispered to another man. “Look, who’s that? I’ve never seen her before. Do we even have someone like her here?”
“In this heat, she’s wearing sunglasses and a mask? Does she think she’s a celebrity or something?” the other man replied,
Tch, what a show–off, another guy commented.

Sitting in the back row, Zoey felt uneasy as whispers reached her ears. It wasn’t until the professor rted taking attendance that everyone realized she was Zoey.
“So she’s Zory, huh? The one who didn’t show up for orientation or freshman camp, some big–time connection, someone said.
“Missing classes for so long and still keeping her spot at the university–that’s pulling strings, is it?” another girl chimed in Someone else asked, “Why’s she covering her face and eyes? Must be too bad–looking to show her face.”
Sitting next to Zoey was a girl named Abigail, who happened to be her roommate. Abigail, with her bold and outgoing personality, felt an immediate urge to defend Zoey, who seemed so gentle and sweet. “Zoey, just ignore what they said.
“I know you’re not some connection case. You were in an acciders, and that’s why you couldn’t attend class, right?”
She assumed that Zoey was wearing the mask because her face had been injured in the accident, but in fact, Zoey just didn’t want to spread her cold to anyone else.
Zoey was genuinely grateful, and she said with a few coughs, “Oh, thank you.”
Abigail flashed a friendly smile and replied, “No big deal. You missed a lot of classes, so if there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to ask me.
After class, Zoey stood under the shade of a tree, leaning on her cane and waiting for someone.
“Hey, who are you waiting for?” Abigail asked.
“I’m waiting for… my family,” Zoey replied, not wanting to mention that it was actually her husband. After all, she was still university student, and getting married right after starting college was pretty uncommon. She didn’t want to draw too much attention
Abigail, not fully convinced, said, I’ll wait with you. I leave when your family shows up.”
Originally. Levi had arranged for Jack to pick her up, but to Zoey’s surprise, Levi came himself. “Zozo,” Levi’s deep voice called out as he stood before her his tone as cool and commanding as ever.
“Mr. Horton? Oh, you’re here.” Zoey said, a soft smile creeping onto her lips, her voice unconsciously brightening at his arrival
The moment Levi appeared, Abigail seemed to freeze in place with her eyes glued to him. She stared at him in stunned silence and was unable to move.
Zoey thought Abigail had been shocked by Mr. Horton’s suppose “ugliness” and quickly whispered to her, “I know he’s not the best looking, but he’s a really nice person. Don’t be scared”
Levi overheard this and couldn’t help but snort in disbelief. He silently told himself to let it go, reminding himself that it wasn’t worth arguing with someone who could barely see.
Abigail, on the other hand, was utterly dumbfounded. She blinked a few times, wondering if she had misheard. ‘Not best looking? Is Zoey serious? Did she not have any sense of aesthetics at all? The man is more handsome than any celebrity I’ve ever seen on the screen. Zoey’s taste must really be… unique
Abigail forced an awkward laugh and said, “Well, since your family is here, I’ll get going now.”
Zoey gave her a sweet wave and said, “Alright, see you. After Abigail left, Zoey was still gazing in the direction she had gone.

Hazel didn’t know Zoey had returned to class yet, and since they were in different majors, it was hard to run into her during the day. Thankfully, she met Abigail. Otherwise, she’d be completely on her own
Without another word, Levi grabbed her wrist firmly and commanded. “Let’s go,”
Zoey was worried that someone might notice, so she tried to put her hand away gently, but Levi’s grip was unyielding.
Levi, clearly enjoying teasing her, said with a smirk, “What’s the problem? Embarrassed to be seen with me because I’m bad looking for you?”
Zoey shook her head. “No, I’m not embarrassed, Mr. Horton. It sust. I’m still a student. It wouldn’t look right if someone saw us together”
Levi raised his eyebrows, his tone calm. “What’s wrong with that! You’re an adult. It’s not like this is some high school
romance.
Zoey paused and thought it over, That’s true. Lam an adult now. Who says I can’t be seen with a man on the campus? Realizing there was no reason to keep struggling, she stopped resisting and let Levi hold her hand as they walked home together.
