Chapter 3
The next morning, I sneaked out of the house before Samson got up and went to our grandma’s place.
To be honest, I was a bit hesitant.
Because the new perspective I chose for my essay was hard and also very risky.
Upon seeing me, Grandma immediately served me some
warm soup.
“What’s wrong, Grace? You look unhappy.”
I forced a smile that was uglier than crying.
“Grandma, if I can’t make it to MIT, will you be disappointed in me?” I asked.
She smiled, stroking my head.
“Don’t be silly.
“All I want is for you to be happy. No matter what, I’ll always love you unconditionally. I’ll take care of you; you’ve got nothing to worry about.”
Hearing her words, I suddenly was more resolute in doing this. After leaving Grandma’s place, I received a call from Samson.
“Where are you, Grace? Antonio went to bring you breakfast, but he didn’t see you. He’s throwing a tantrum now.”

I replied coldly, “I’m out buying books. I’ll be back shortly.”
I wasn’t going to tell either of them about my new plan.
After all, about the plagiarism incident, they were the ones I was suspicious of the most.
I decided to go to the library to prepare the new outline of my
essay.
Besides, it’d be easier for me to look up information here.
After finishing most of it, I stretched out, ready for a bit of
rest.
I was curious; how would Vivian react?
Just as I was lost in thought, I saw Samson and Antonio.
I couldn’t help but feel confused. How did they know I was here?
In the next second, Samson placed a food container on my desk.
“I brought you something to eat in case you were too preoccupied with studying.”
Meanwhile, Antonio handed me a glass of juice.
“It’s freshly squeezed orange juice.”
They looked so sincere; would they really frame me?
Was I wrong?
But who else could it be?
Chapter 3
I had so many questions that I craved answers.
Pulling myself together, I forced a smile.

“You guys are my lifesaver. I’m starving. Well, let me go wash. my hands first.”
With that, I went to the restroom with my phone in hand.
But I didn’t go into the stall; instead, I clicked on Vivian’s social account next to the sink.
Sure enough, she posted again.
“I’m so unlucky. It’s a good thing that I shared with you guys the essay topic I predicted, right? But someone actually plagiarized my essay outline. I know I might not predict the essay topic for the SAT correctly, but… Still, this is such a disgusting thing to do. I’ve decided to come up with a new outline.”
Along with the post was a photo, which showed the back of a girl in the library.
Anyone who knew me could recognize that it was me.
But who took the photo?
Someone commented, asking Vivian what she was about to
write.
She replied that she’d like to change her perspective.
I was stunned.
Her new perspective was identical to my outline.

Someone around me must be helping her to keep an eye on
- me.
Was it Samson or Antonio?
Or both?
But why?
Just then, someone patted me on the back.
“Grace? Why are you in a daze?”
Startled, I almost jumped.
Turning around, I saw Samson and Antonio, who had come to the restroom to find me.
They got a bit worried since it had been quite a while already.
My heart kept pounding; I just wanted them to leave.
“I’m fine, Samson. I just wanna eat later.”
Hearing this, Antonio was mad.
“Grace, what’s this about? We’re here to bring you food because we care about you.
“You think I don’t know? You’ve been guarding against us these past few days. Are our concerns garbage to you?”
Samson quickly intervened, “Grace, don’t take it to heart.
“He’s just too upset.

“I know you’re under a lot of pressure now that the SAT is around the corner. Antonio and I are just worried about your safety; that’s all.”
I said immediately, “There are guards in school.
“I’m perfectly safe.
“Or I can go live in my dorm. This way, you’ve got nothing to worry about, right?”
Antonio rolled his eyes.
“Whatever. I’m not gonna be your servant anymore.”
With that, he pulled Samson and left the library.
I exhaled, feeling a bit relaxed.
