Chapter 11
The next day, I received a call from the lawyer.
The division of assets was fair.
Daniel didn’t show up, and I was glad to avoid further entanglements with him.
After everything was finalized, I went to Tommy’s house to say goodbye.
He was filled with reluctance, but he didn’t try to stop me. Instead, he asked me to promise to send him pictures.
Of course, I agreed.
The following day, I packed my bags and headed to the airport.
While waiting for my flight, I heard a child crying. I looked over and saw Ryan. Somehow, he had come to the airport too.
He reached out in my direction, but Daniel held him back.
“Don’t go, Mom. I’m sorry. It’s my fault. Please don’t leave me,” he cried.
His loud voice attracted attention.
Daniel didn’t drag him away, nor did he let Ryan run to me.

He just watched, waiting for my reaction.
I knew Daniel was using Ryan to try to keep me. He didn’t believe I could leave Ryan behind.

But he was wrong. They were the ones who abandoned me first.
They had done it so many times over the past seven years.
Nothing could hold me back now.
The announcement for my flight echoed through the airport. I stopped watching the scene unfold and turned toward the boarding gate.
I would never look back.
