Chapter 10 That Glass of Wine
After last night’s party ended, Trevon and Karla intentionally brought Isabella back so as to give Fabian and Sierra more time to interact. So, they didn’t know Sierra had stayed out all night; they assumed she had come back late and was still sleeping.
“Oh. I see.” Isabella glanced at Trevon.
Realizing Trevon and Karla had no idea Sierra hadn’t come back at all, she wanted to speak ill of Sierra. But then, she remembered Sierra had been with Fabian last night. If she told them the truth, she might not smear Sierra at all; instead, it might work in Sierra’s favor. The more she thought about it, the angrier she felt.
Noticing that Isabella was gawking at the food in front of her without eating. Karla reminded her, “Isla, eat. Or you might be late for school.”
Only then did Isabella come back to her senses. She smiled, “I don’t feel like eating now, Mom. I’m heading out. See you, Mom, Dad.”
Then she grabbed her bag and walked out.
Watching her retreating figure, Karla was puzzled.
“What’s up with Isla today? Is she sick?”
“Don’t overthink it. Everyone has moments when they don’t have an appetite,” Trevon said, not particularly concerned.
Then he put down his fork and stood up. “I’m full. Time to head to the office.”

“Be careful on the way.” Karla reminded him gently.
“OK.” He nodded.
As Isabella walked out, she happened to bump into Sierra, who had just come back.
Isabella stopped in her tracks and looked at Sierra, her eyes darkening to
the extreme.
Sierra stayed out all night and came back so late. Maybe she had breakfast with Fabian.
With such a thought, she couldn’t help but clench her fists.
“Sierra, you came back after having breakfast, right?” squinting, she asked sarcastically.
Sierra glanced at her impatiently, annoyed by the sight of her. “We aren’t that close. Let’s just keep our interaction minimal.”
With that, she walked inside, ignoring Isabella’s reaction.
Isabella shot a glare at Sierra’s retreating figure fiercely. A glint of malice flashed in her eyes as she murmured, “How dare you act so smug after you stole my fiancé from me? I swear. I’ll take Fabian back from you one day.”
“Dad, are you heading to the office?” As Sierra walked inside, she happened to see Trevon putting on his shoes.
“Yes,” Trevon replied instinctively before realizing something.
“You… Did you go for a morning run?” He looked at Sierra, puzzled. Didn’t Karla say she was upstairs sleeping?

Trevon didn’t think any further after he heard Sierra’s answer.
“Oh, by the way, Mom, do you have Fabian’s number? There were some things I didn’t make clear to him yesterday, and I wanna talk to him. today.” Sierra said, getting straight to the point.
Trevon and Karla exchanged glances when hearing Sierra ask for Fabian’s number. They looked surprised at first and then both smiled knowingly.
Come
“Dad, Mom, on. What’s with that face? It’s not what you think,” Sierra said hurriedly, trying to explain.
“Calm down. We aren’t thinking of anything. We’re just glad that you’re reaching out to Fabian voluntarily,” Karla smiled gently.
“That’s right. On this matter with you and Fabian, we support whatever you do.” Trevin echoed.
“Dad…” Sierra turned to Trevon, wanting to explain again.
“Here’s Fabian’s number. I’ve texted you. Well, enjoy your breakfast. Karla will be here with you. I’ve got work to do, so I’ll head out now,” Trevon interrupted her, looked at her with satisfaction, and then left.
Sierra watched Trevon leave and then looked at the number on her phone. She figured that for now, they could think however they wanted; once she explained things to Fabian, all misunderstandings would be naturally
cleared up.
Making up her mind, she flashed a slightly awkward smile at Karla before. continuing to eat her soup.
Karla didn’t say much more. She simply sat there with a smile, keeping Sierra company.
As Sierra finished the soup, she asked with a smile, “Do you want some

more?”
“I’m full. I’m heading upstairs now, Mom.” Sierra put down the spoon and left Karla’s sight quickly.
“She’s shy.” Karla sighed, amused by Sierra’s reaction. Sierra reminded her of her younger self.
Sierra closed the door to her bedroom and finally breathed a sigh of relief. This whole morning was so awkward, and it was all because of Fabian. As she recalled her conversation with Karla and Trevon, she still felt uneasy. In her entire life, this was the first time she had experienced such a feeling.
Sitting in front of the computer, she seethed with anger as she recalled being drugged.
Someone was bold enough to drug her at the Cordova family’s party. She swore she’d find out who it was, or the suffering she endured last night would be for nothing.
She tried to recall everything from last night. Parties of this level placed great emphasis on privacy, so she didn’t think there would be many surveillance cameras. Besides, there were so many guests there, and they were all meeting for the first time. There shouldn’t be any of her enemies among them.
Even if there were, they wouldn’t just drug her with an aphrodisiac. So, she was certain that it wasn’t an enemy.
She was talking to Fabian back then. And then a waiter came over…
“It’s that glass of wine!” suddenly, she exclaimed. She remembered clearly. It was after drinking that glass that she…
