Chapter 6
Looking at him freaking out. I can’t help but taunt, “Hey, what are you gonna say?
“I heard her fiancé was a boxer, with many gold medals from international contests. Be careful with your words, otherwise, you’re gonna need that ward too if he punches you in the face.”
Antonio’s face was overcast.
“How…how dare you!”
He had scarcely said that when someone fiercely forced his way in through the door.
“Tania, how are you?
“Antonio, thank you for taking care of her.”
Antonio froze, not sure how to react, and tried to phrase his response. To me, the game was on.
I pointed at Tania, “Go see your fiancée. She played so hard that she hurt herself.”
“Play what? What does that mean?”
Antonio cut me off, asking the nurse to get me out of here.
“You need that single ward to rest, go.”
Thus, I successfully checked in that ward.

As soon as I walked in, I called the lawyer asking about divorce and told him to handle all procedures for me.
Afterward. I reached out to the nurse, “I want to go back to Grandview Hospital. Can you help with the transfer?”
“You’re going back? How are you holding up?
“Well, should I reform him…your husband?”
People already knew he was my husband and had sympathy for me.
While I was recovering in Grandview Hospital, I didn’t get a single call or even a text message from Antonio.
However, the news of an accident at the previous hospital got to my ears: A man violently beat up a male and a female.
I didn’t need to think to know who were involved.
The lawyer sent divorce papers to my phone as fast as possible, and I sent them to Antonio.
That’s when he finally responded to me.
“I won’t accept it. I’m not getting a divorce.”
He then begged me to not leave him, saying all kinds of sweet things.
But I hung up on him.
My mind was made. I will divorce him whether he agrees or not.
After I had fully recovered, I went back home with the divorce settlement.
While looking at my house, some memories set in.

The house was the fruit of decades of hard work in this city with Antonio.
It was a witness of how we made it.
And now, it will be a witness of how we fall apart.
I scanned my face at the gate, but it kept saying invalid.
I was confused. “Did Antonio change my facial ID while I was not here.”
The security guy, who saw me stuck here, came up to me.
“Wait a second. I’ll contact Ms. Kaufman for you.”
“Ms. Kaufman?” I wondered, “Isn’t he talking about me? it be?”
My heart sank, knowing what was going on.

The gate opened after a while. And there before me was Tania Becker.
She stood by the gate in a sexy robe while holding a cat.
“It’s you.
“How dare you come here. You killed my baby and snitched to my fiancé. He kicked me out.
“But fortunately I have Antonio. And you…you have nothing left.”
Having said that, she frowned at the security, shouting, “What are you waiting for? I don’t know her. Get her out of here.”
The security was confounded, not sure what to do.
Smack.
I slapped her hard on the face, and yelled at the security. “Call the police!
She was a mistress.”
I then got out my wedding certificate to prove my identity.
Thanks to the divorce procedures, I carried it all the time with me.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to explain it.
The security checked it and called the police.
Tania, seeing the shift in the situation, attempted to leave.
I grabbed her still and blurted out, “What? Wanna go nov thought about this while you were screwing up with Anto.
Tania started to scream hysterically, wanting to break loose.
Taven’t you
”
But there was no way she could escape from me and the security, after all, she was tiny.
The scene attracted old neighbors.
“Dr. Parrish, haven’t you divorced Mr. Kaufinan yet? That woman’s hist mistress? She was here all day. I thought you broke up and Mr. Kaufman.
moved on.”
“Yeah. I often ran into her at the grocery.”
“Who could’ve known Mr. Kaufman was like this? You never know.”
I felt warm in my heart at this collective attack on Antonio.
I continued. “You know what? On Valentine’s Day, she cheated with my husband while carrying another man’s child. She ended up in the hospital and I caught her on the spot.
“Her fiancé found out about this and dumped her. She then stayed in my house. How can someone be as shameful as her!”
My words added fuel to the fire. Some people even threw groceries at her.
