Chapter 7
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but tear up. Even though Emily had been misled to believe I was such a despicable person, she didn’t show any disgust towards me. Instead, she was protecting me in her own way.
Although this silly child was using the most foolish method…
Suddenly, Nina’s lips curled into a malicious smile as she waved to Emily.
“Come here. Didn’t you want to apologize for your mom?”
She sat haughtily in her chair, arms crossed, scrutinizing Emily. “Well, you know the drill. Kneel and beg me. If I’m satisfied, I’ll let your mom off the hook.”
Emily hesitated, knowing I was there. She didn’t want me to see her in such a humiliating state.
Nina taunted her again, “What? Don’t want to save your mom now? Such an unfilial daughter. Your mom even stooped to being a mistress just to get you into our family!”
Karina Collier, sitting nearby, immediately caught Nina’s drift.
“Emily, Nina is giving you a chance here. Remember your place. When it’s time to bow your head, do so.”
Hearing the teacher’s words, I angrily rebuked her, “Is this how a teacher should behave? This is clearly bullying. How can you not stop it? How did the school even hire you?”

“What! Who are you to interfere?” Karina turned to scold me, “Someone of Emily’s status should be grateful just to be in this school! As the homeroom teacher, I naturally have to uphold justice. It’s clear that Nina is the one being wronged here!
“If I don’t speak up for her, should I make Nina kneel and apologize to Emily instead?”
She inched closer to Linda like a lapdog, “Mrs. Kaufman, don’t you agree with me?”
Linda avoided her gaze, thinking this fool was only hastening her own demise.
It was better to keep her distance.
The principal couldn’t stand it anymore, “Ms. Collier, what are you doing? I advise you to think carefully before you speak! This lady is-”
Karina stood up. “Mr. Dunlap, even if you are the principal, I must speak fairly. Nina was hit by someone’s parent, right here in our school.
“As the homeroom teacher, how can I stand by and do nothing? If I did, I truly wouldn’t be fit to be a teacher!”
Karina naively believed that as long as she pleased Linda, it wouldn’t matter if she offended the principal.
The principal clutched his chest, gasping for air, “You, you…you fool!”
“Mr. Dunlap, I think you’ve really gone senile. Can’t you tell who’s really in charge? If you’re not clear–headed, maybe it’s time for

you to retire!”
The principal was even more infuriated. In this school, no one had dared to speak to him like this before.
Today, he was publicly humiliated by a homeroom teacher. He couldn’t take it.
The principal took a deep breath, strode over, and slapped Karina across the face.
“You fool! You’re the one who can’t tell who’s really in charge. The lady standing next to me is the real Mrs. Kaufman!”
