Chapter 5
I stood in front of the gate of the National Academy of Arts.
At that moment, I finally felt I was reborn.
I wasn’t a sick old woman on her dead bed. I was a carefree college student.
In one ordinary morning. I saw Antonio in front of the teaching building.
“Why didn’t you come to Seavista? Do you know that you’ve ruined Stella?!”
Antonio shouted at me in the crowd.
Purchase completed
“You love Stella, don’t you? I was doing you a favor.
“I only feel sick when I think about marrying you.”
This was the first time I confronted Antonio. He was at a loss for words.
“How dare you give me this attitude? Are you out of your mind?”
I looked at Antonio. He’d abandoned his pride and dignity. What a fool.
“Antonio, I have nothing to do with you now.
“You have Stella now. What’s your problem?
“Leave me alone. I don’t wanna see you again.”
Antonio dashed over like a rabid dog and grabbed my wrist. “Stella is just a sister to me. She’s just a girl. Get over yourself for once.”
I looked at the crowd and cried, “Why did you take your sister to a hotel?”
The crowd started whispering and Antonio retorted.
“Stella and I aren’t like that. Do you have proof? If no, this is defamation.”
“The hotel is across the street from the city hall. Shall I show you the photos?”
Antonio immediately quieted. He knew clearly he was guilty.
My parents adopted Antonio and gave him all their love.
I got picked on a lot. Antonio was always there to defend me.
“Don’t be afraid, Grace. They can’t hurt you when I’m here.”
I’d never be jealous of anyone. I simply enjoyed the warmth Antonio gave
- me.
Even though I found out he didn’t love me a long time ago, I was still willing to marry him.
I owed Antonio nothing.
Since that day, there had been many reports of Antonio around the dorm on the school forum.
Thanks to the reports, I was able to avoid Antonio.
Antonio went to the dean and said I was dropping out. I was shocked. when I found it out.
Luckily, the dean had summoned me to his oflice to ask me about it.
“Antonio, I have had enough of your pestering.
Chapter 5
“Would you leave me alone?”
“I merely want you to come home with me. Grace, I love you.”
Antonio put on a pitiful look again.
I sneered, “No, You don’t love me. The woman you love is keeping you
company.”
“No matter what, you’re still my wife. I have the right to ask you to come.
home.”
I waved my hand.
“Have you ever checked your marriage license?”
Antonio was stunned and made a call. His expression darkened as he listened to the person on the phone.
I chuckled.
“Happy now? You’re married to your beloved Stella. You two can be together forever.”
Antonio slammed his hands on the desk angrily. “You wrote Stella’s name when you filled out the form, didn’t you?”
“No.” I wasn’t a fool. He couldn’t trick me into telling the truth.
Antonio turned his attitude and acted humbly. “Grace, please. I’ll change as long as you ask. Please come home with me.”
For some reason, his compliance only made me angrier.
In my previous life, we fought about it. Once Antonio convinced me to return to him, he kept on cheating on me with Stella.
“Sir. I have nothing to do with this person. Can I go now?”
The dean was speechless and looked at Antonio.
“Mr. Kaufman. please do not harass my student again. If you disrupt her life on our campus again, we’re gonna call the police.
A huge weight was lifted off my shoulder. Thankfully, my college would protect its students.
Antonio still wanted to argue. But the dean stood up and was ready to
leave.
“Mr. Kaufman, do you need someone to see you out?”
With that said, Antonio left in resentment.
