Angela was so shocked by his glare that she stumbled back, tears instantly spilling from her eyes. “Roy, please, let me explain… all those things… my parents forced me! They made me charm those men. I had no choice… You’re the only one I truly care about!”
Roy stared at her, his eyes filled with disappointment and disgust. “Angela, you make me sick.“%
With that, he turned to leave. But Angela suddenly lunged forward, grabbing his arm tightly. “Roy, if you love me, you should love all of me! Even if you can’t accept it, you should be mad, but instead, you’re rushing off. Where are you going? To see Emma? Have you fallen for her?”
Roy froze. His mind was swirling with confusion, yet he felt an unexpected sense of relief.%
Why was he in such a hurry to leave?
Why, after hearing the truth, did he feel more relieved than shocked? Why was Emma the only one on his mind??
He finally had to admit it. He had fallen for Emma.
As he turned back to Angela, his voice was ice–cold. “So what if I have? Angela, you’ll pay for everything you’ve done.“%
He made a phone call. “Dig up Angela’s messy past overseas and spread it around the city. I want her to be too ashamed to show her face again!“S
He shook off her hand and stormed out of the villa.
Angela crumpled to the floor, realizing everything was over.
She screamed, her voice filled with desperation. “Roy, it’s too late. Destroying me won’t change a thing. You hurt her because of me, and you’ll never win her heart!“&
Roy barged into Shelly’s place while she was busy packing. She glanced up at him, her tone indifferent. “What are you doing here?“> Roy’s eyes fell on the open suitcase, and he frowned. “Where are you heading?“}
Without looking up, Shelly continued to pack. “Los Angeles. There’s a wedding tomorrow, and I’m a bridesmaid.“}
Roy’s heart skipped a beat; he immediately thought of Emma. If Shelly was going to LA, she’d definitely see her.”
He quickly spoke up. “Take me with you.“>
Shelly paused, giving him a cold stare. “Take you? What about Angela? Remember you have a sister now?“>
Roy’s face tightened, urgency lacing his voice. “I found out everything about Angela is true. I’ve broken up with her, and I won’t make the same mistake again.”}
Shelly raised an eyebrow, her tone slightly mocking. “Oh? Finally wise to it? Not being led around by that damsel anymore?”
Roy lowered his head, his voice pleading. “I know I was wrong. Please take me with you. I just need to clear my head. I’ve just been through a breakup.”
Shelly’s gaze softened. After all, he was her brother, and she couldn’t stay mad. She sighed, her tone gentler. “Alright, I’ll take you this time. But if you mess up again, I’ll really kick you out of the family. Got it?”
Roy eagerly nodded, a rare smile breaking through. “Don’t worry. I won’t let you down this time.“>
They packed their bags and headed straight to the airport.”
Before boarding, Roy felt a weight lift off his shoulders. The thought of seeing Emma soon brightened his mood considerably.
This time, no matter what, he’d win her back. Even if it meant groveling, even if it meant begging, he’d bring her back into his life. He even bought a ton of gifts, ready to give to Emma and her family.
Shelly noticed the pile of presents in his hands and frowned. “Why did you buy so much stuff?”
Roy chuckled, a hint of anticipation in his voice. “For Emma. She’s in LA, right? After the wedding, I’ll go see her.”
Shelly paused, then smiled. “No need, you’ll see her at the wedding tomorrow.”
Roy, not catching the hint in her words, assumed Emma was also a bridesmaid. He smiled eagerly. “Perfect, I can’t wait to give her the gifts.“%
Before the plane took off, Roy pulled out his phone and sent a few messages to Emma.
[Emma, I’m heading to LA now. This time, I’ll properly apologize.]
[I know I was wrong. Please give me another chance, okay?]}
[Wait for me, I’ll be there soon.J
However, each message was met with a red exclamation mark.
Roy’s heart sank, his fingers trembling. Had she blocked him?!
