Even though tears welled up in her eyes, she didn’t say a word..
Even though she was puzzled, she wondered when Nathan, who never smoked, had picked up this bad habit.
“Quack.”
The car suddenly slammed on the brakes, and due to inertia, Katie involuntarily leaned forward. “Nathan, are you crazy?”
Nathan chuckled, “I thought your mind was completely immersed in sweet nothings with your lover, unable to speak.”
“Get out of the car.”
Katie looked up and realized she had already arrived at the underground. ‘parking lot of the auction.
The painful memories from the last time I was here resurfaced once again.
Before that day, Nathan had been ignoring her for a long time. Suddenly, he knocked on her door and asked her if she wanted to go somewhere with him.
Katie agreed without even thinking about it.
Throughout the journey, she was praying for Nathan’s forgiveness.

Nathan didn’t speak, but he didn’t get as angry as before either. He just looked at her calmly, with a fleeting curve at the corner of his mouth.
They parked the car and a person who looked like a supervisor came in to lead the way. He looked at her face several times, and the satisfied smile made Katie feel like she was not a person, but an object.

others.
Her mind was full of what Nathan had said to her before signing, “Don’t you want me to forgive you? As long as you sign, I won’t be mad at you.
anymore.”
“I have never lied to you before.”

anymore.
She thought she would be grateful to the doctor of traditional medicine. for the rest of her life. It was he who saved her life, otherwise, she might have really sought death.
The car door was opened, it was the same security guard as last time, but his eyes were more naked and unbridled.

emotions.
She told it that she just needed to sign a document, and they would be able to leave soon. A gentle and handsome uncle would soon take them to a beautiful new country.

Katie steadied her mind and carefully began to read after flipping it open.
After a while, Nathan began to grow impatient. “I can’t fool you anymore. Just sign it already.”
Katie didn’t look up, “I have to see it for myself to feel at ease.”
Her tone was flat, devoid of any personal emotions, but even so, Nathan was still angry and felt a lump in his chest. The last time she
unconditionally trusted him to sign above, Nathan cursed her as foolish and cursed her for loving him so much.

He loosened his tie and told the people inside that he had something to attend to and needed to leave first. He asked them to wait for Katie to finish signing and then figure out a way home on her own.
After saying that, he turned around and walked away, took out his phone, – and dialed Emelia’s number.
