Chapter 16
Nathan brought Emelia to the hospital. He kept his posture very low, hoping that Owen would nod in agreement to his request.
When Owen said to let it go, he was really surprised.
It was obvious that Owen didn’t like Emelia, let alone Emelia, he could see it clearly. But Nathan has always been independent and opinionated since he was young. It was only when it came to taking care of Katie that he almost completely and willingly followed Owen’s orders.
But soon he understood Owen’s attitude and why he was so casual.
The door was pushed open from the outside by someone.
Katic and Zane walked in slowly with the dishes. For some reason, when Nathan saw Katie, he instinctively turned his head to avoid the gaze she might throw at him.
He didn’t know how to face her, how to explain the situation that day, it was just an accident.
After returning home from the hospital, he waited for Katie’s call, waiting for her to scold him, waiting for her to blame him.
He thought of a thousand different things to say in his mind, but never had the chance to say them out loud.
But once he missed this opportunity, he never had the courage to say it a second time.
But Katie did not look at him.
So when he looked up, all he saw was Katic and Zane standing by Owen’s bed, showing concern.
Owen busily greeted Katie to sit down, “Don’t tire out my precious great- grandson.”
After finishing speaking, he greeted the servants who had come with him and took out a tablet, showing the two of them a luxurious and beautiful ancient castle. “When you get married, you can have the wedding there, and I will cover all the expenses.”
Flipping over, there is a pile of things that babies will use, making it dizzying to look at.
Owen smiled brightly and said that he had already prepared everything needed for the baby’s arrival. Katie didn’t need to worry about anything and could just relax and be a happy mother.
The three of them chatted and laughed, making Nathan and Emelia. standing beside them seem particularly unnecessary.
But since the purpose of this visit had already been achieved, Nathan wast unwilling to waste any more time here and left with Emelia.
When he finally saw the person leave, Owen breathed a sigh of relief.
He looked at the two of them, the smile on his face fading slightly. “Come on, tell me, what’s the matter?”
Katie was surprised that they hadn’t said anything, but Owen had somehow figured it out.
Owen hummed lightly, “You two didn’t realize that you were forcing yourselves to laugh.”
The two looked at each other, sharing an awkward smile. But when Katie thought about what she had to tell Owen, she couldn’t bring herself to

smile again.
“Grandpa, I wanted you to take me and Zane away as soon as possible.”
Owen’s smile faded slightly, “No, I agreed to let you go back then because I was afraid you would…”
“Now that you no longer have this problem, why do you still insist on leaving?”
“Katie, my situation is really unstable. I might leave at any time. I still want to see your wedding, and see my beautiful great–granddaughter born safely. I still have gifts to give her.”
Owen was the one saying goodbye with reluctance, but it was Katie who couldn’t hold back her tears first.
She never wanted to leave again. Every inch of land in this city bears traces of her presence. Despite the earth–shattering change in her mood now, she cannot deny that the eighteen years she spent here were truly good and happy.
Owen spoke again, “You were just shocked, you need to rest, otherwise the little one in your belly won’t be able to handle it.”
What else could Katie say, Owen’s every word hit her right in the softest spot of her heart.
So she knelt beside Owen’s bed, and lay down on Owen’s pillow, crying and nodding.
“Grandpa, I’m not leaving, I’m not leaving.”
