Chapter 20
Katie’s eyes turned red, her voice trembling, “Let me go!”
Nathan did not look at her, but his body did not move, obviously wanting to protect Emelia.
She tried to pull, but Nathan didn’t budge.
Emelia’s eyes were swollen at this point, and she kept apologizing, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, I just spoke without thinking, I never thought it would have such consequences.”
Katie was trembling all over at the moment, unsure if it was from being angry at Emelia or from being scared by Owen passing out.
Even the words spoken were trembling, “Is sorry useful? Can sorry make grandpa recover?”
“You have opinions and dislike me, just come to me directly, why go to grandpa?”
“Grandpa is now in there, his life hanging in the balance. Why are you crying here, pretending to be mentally handicapped?”
“From now on, you will kneel outside the ICU. When grandpa wakes up, then you can stand up.”
She was talking while unable to control her steps approaching Emelia, but Nathan always stood in front of Emelia, saying nothing, but not allowing Katie to get close to Emelia.
Katie suddenly broke down, “Nathan, how long are you going to protect her!”
Chapter 20
Nathan suddenly looked up and saw her looking almost broken. He
instinctively wanted to reach out and pat her head, telling her that I was there for her.
But then he came to his senses, all of this was because of him.
But Emelia was his only pillar in his heart, he had to protect her.
Looking at Katie, thinking about everything that happened last night, unable to say anything, in the end, it all boiled down to three words, “I’m sorry.”
Emelia was stunned, Katie was also stunned, neither of them understood why Nathan was apologizing, but he did, what exactly was he apologizing for?
No one knew.
Zane rushed over and saw Katie, pale–faced and on the verge of collapse. He tenderly embraced her and reassured her that he had called in the most. advanced medical team from overseas. They would also be in the operating room, ensuring Owen’s treatment went smoothly. “Grandpa, everything will be fine,” he said.
Katie was still immersed in Nathan’s apology, it seemed like he had softened his stance, but his determination to protect Emelia only grew
stronger.
Katie suddenly chuckled a few times, “Since your fiancée is unwilling to kowtow and apologize, you better keep an eye on her. Otherwise, I will keep hitting you every time I see you until grandpa wakes up and personally tells me to stop.”
After she finished speaking, she pushed Zane away and knelt down facing the door of the ICU. The slender girl, with a straight back.
Chapter 20
Emelia watched as Katie suddenly turned fierce, and she forgot to cry until Nathan led her to the underground parking lot. It was then that she realized what had happened and she burst into tears, clinging to Nathan.
At the moment when Owen fainted, she was really scared to death, afraid that Nathan would blame her, then reject her, and she would return to the dark days she had once experienced.
Luckily, Nathan was still facing towards her.
He was her only reliance, she had to hold onto him tightly.
The next second, “You, don’t go out recently.”
Emelia stopped crying, lifted her head, and said, “Why? I didn’t mean to.”
Nathan felt a trace of annoyance in his heart. “Katie has always had a good relationship with grandpa. Whether you did it on purpose or not, grandpa’s fainting is indeed related to you. She is angry again now, full of anger waiting to be directed at you. Why do you have to confront her?”
Emelia quit. She didn’t have to listen to her, so she avoided her.
“Are you her brother? Doesn’t she even listen to you?”
Nathan thought again about the look Katie gave him last night, feeling guilty. He responded impatiently to Emelia’s words, “If you stay at home, just stay at home. If something happens to grandpa, do you think we can still get married smoothly?“.
After speaking, Nathan hurried all the way to take her back home, and even called two nannies to take care of her daily life.
Emelia suppressed her dissatisfaction and, even though she knew that Nathan had called these two people to monitor her, she no longer had any objections. She just obediently nodded and asked him to come and spend. more time with her whenever he had the chance.

Nathan responded haphazardly, quickly leaving.
So he didn’t see Emelia’s eyes gradually darken.
