Chapter 23
She quickly pulled him away and only told him the truth about Owen’s memory confusion after closing the door.
Nathan sighed in relief, but then he took a deep breath again.
He felt that he had been acting strangely lately, always thinking about random things. He looked at Emelia behind Katie and decided that since Owen had woken up, the wedding would be brought forward again.
Katie grabbed his hand and shook her head desperately, “Grandpa now believes that we are… If he sees you marrying another woman, he won’t be able to accept it.”
Nathan calmly removed her hand from his arm and said coldly, “This has nothing to do with you.”
“Did you love her so much and want to marry her so badly that you didn’t even care about grandpa’s safety?”
Katie couldn’t help but raise her voice, and Nathan looked at her steadily, saying in a deep voice, “Katie, you crossed the line.”
Katie took two steps back. Yes, it was Nathan. What did he want and how could she control the situation?
He was no longer the Nathan before she turned 18.
Nathan and Emelia’s wedding preparations went smoothly, and Zane’s preparations were also well organized.
They counted the days apart by pinching their fingers.
Chapter 23
The wedding was soon held grandly.
Nathan didn’t invite them, and they didn’t think about going either. After all. that blessing was something no one could say out loud.
Before the plane took off, Zane asked again if Katie was really ready to leave Owen.
Katie touched her stomach and said, “Leaving on this day was a promise made between me and grandpa.”
Zane fell silent, and Katie walking with him was all he wanted to see.
Ask her, just unwilling to have regrets in the future. Once there are regrets, it is easy to develop obsession.
But they didn’t know that at the moment the plane took off, something went wrong at the wedding.
Originally, Nathan had someone guard Owen, not intending to go down. to attend the wedding, just needing to receive the greetings of the younger generation upstairs.
But who knew, the guard’s greed for that one cup of wine, a moment of carelessness, allowed Owen to slip away.
He had intended to see what Katic looked like as a bride, but instead saw another woman’s face on the poster.
He pulled him down and started shouting Nathan’s name.
When Nathan was alive, he understood everything.
“You were confused, Katie was pregnant with your child, but you married another woman. What were you thinking?”
Nathan’s face was serious as he called the security guard over. “Grandpa,
Chapter 23
I’ll say it again, Katie’s child is Zane’s.”
Then he gestured to the security guard to take the person away.
Everyone also chimed in, saying that Nathan had been avoiding Katie all along, how could he possibly have gotten her pregnant.
“What a mess, Katie has liked you since she was young, all these years she has only had you in her eyes and in her heart. Now that she is pregnant, if it’s not yours, then whose could it be?”
Owen was upset that no one believed him.
He suddenly pointed at someone in the crowd and said, “You, in the ninth grade, wrote a love letter to Katie, but she didn’t even accept it.”
He then pointed to another person, “You, you chased Katie for a whole semester in elementary school, giving her candy every day, but Katie didn’t even look at you.”
He then pointed out several people, each of whom had pursued Katie relentlessly, but Katie had a strong sense of boundaries and never did anything that could be misunderstood.”
But the clearest of all was Nathan. Yes, no matter when he turned around, he could always catch a mischievous glance.
Seeing Nathan no longer speaking, Owen also gave up, shook his head, sighed, and left. “Ah, what’s the use of believing? She’s already gone, to a place you can never find again.”
