Chapter 10
Sure enough, after hearing Daniel’s confession, Ashley’s mother grabbed his collar and screamed hysterically:[]
“What did you say? You’re not Jackson Reed? Then who are you? You’re really just a driver? How could you lie to me? I got pregnant before marriage and faced so many obstacles to be with you. Now you’ve made me a laughingstock. I’ll kill you!“[]
With that, Ashley’s mother lunged at Daniel like a madwoman.[]
Daniel, resigned to his fate, didn’t resist.[]
Ashley was dumbfounded and quickly tried to pull her mother away:

Surprisingly, this comment seemed to trigger Daniel. He slapped her back:[]
“What’s wrong with being a driver? Did I ever deprive you of food or clothing? If you weren’t so obsessed with status and luxury, would we be in this mess? This is your own doing, Vanessa. You have no one else to blame!“]
Vanessa hadn’t expected Daniel to hit her. Red–eyed with rage, she attacked him again.]
The onlookers watched in shocked silence, too afraid to breathe and tried to sneak away.
I laughed coldly and blocked their exit:]]
“Where are you all going? You destroyed my family’s Rolls–Royce and the imperial jade bracelet. We need to discuss compensation.“]
“Just so you know, this townhouse has excellent security cameras, much clearer than in most neighborhoods.“[]
One student stuttered a protest:[]
“Ashley told us to do it. If you want compensation, ask her.“[]
I smirked:
“You’re all college students–are you really that ignorant of the law? In our legal system, the person who causes damage is liable for compensation. If you don’t believe me, consult a lawyer or Google it.“]
Hearing this, everyone’s faces fell:[]
“Olivia, your family is so wealthy. Why persecute a few poor students? You know we can’t afford to pay. Are you trying to ruin our lives?“]
“Why not convince Mr. Reed to let this go as an act of charity? We made a mistake we were confused and fell for Ashley’s manipulation.“]
Chapter 10
I rolled my eyes, exasperated:]
“You were much more arrogant when you were helping Ashley bully my mom and me. Save your excuses for the police station. I don’t have the patience to listen to your justifications.“]]
With that, I took my dad’s phone and called the police.[]
After the police assessment, thirteen students including Ashley were ordered to pay $23 million in damages to my family.[]
Vanessa and Ashley were detained for three months for trespassing and defamation.[]
When the verdict was announced, everyone was stunned.
Paying such a huge amount would require their parents to sell houses and cars–otherwise, they simply couldn’t afford it.[]
If I didn’t show leniency, they would certainly try other tactics.]
Sure enough, these students took to social media platforms, distorting facts and spreading rumors that I was using my position as Mr. Reed’s daughter to bully them, trying to pressure me into signing a statement of forgiveness.[]
Left with no choice, I reported them to the police again.]

The result? They were not only forced to pay compensation but also detained for a month and given disciplinary warnings by the university.[]
