Chapter 12
Chapter 12
Aquamarine’s POV
I felt a sting in my chest.
But the last thing I would do is let them see my weakness. What would Alexander do in this situation?
I straightened my back and held my head up high. Just the way Alexander did when he first showed up in my pack.
I promised myself I would be strong and nothing would stop me from doing just that. Not even the pain wracking my body and the war going on in my stomach.
“Who spoke?” His voice shut off the murmuring as he pulled the horse to a stop.
Silence fell, heavy and suffocating.
“Don’t make me repeat myself,” he snarled.
A man stepped forward.
No, it was more like he was pushed forward by the crowd.
He was a dirty–looking middle–aged man with an eyepatch and a golden croaked tooth that glinted in the sun as he chuckled nervously.
Levi pushed the man forward to the front of our horse. I looked back at Alexander. I wondered what he would do to his kind.
“Drunken Moose,” Alexander’s eyebrow twitched, his voice surprisingly calm as he smirked.
I swallowed hard.
Not for myself though.
But for Drunken Moose.
Alexander’s smirk or smile is never a good sign. Never.
“You find my chosen mate… objectionable?” Alexander asked.
Chosen Mate.
Those words caused another round of gasps and whispers from the crowd.
Drunken Moose’s face paled and his smile fell. It seemed whatever alcohol he drank had cleared off his head. He hurriedly stepped forward, “P–primus, I meant no disrespect to you, I didn’t—”
Before he could finish, Alexander’s hand shot out, wrapping around Drunken Moose’s throat, gripping it as he lifted Drunken Moose off the ground.
My jaw dropped; how could he lift a man from the ground with so much ease while still on a horse?
“She is Aquamarine, Alexander announced, his voice carrying across the entire courtyard. “My mate, your Luna, and the mother of this pack’s future heir?
He turned, facing the entire crowd.
“Anyone who insults her insults me. Anyone who threatens her threatens me. And anyone who harms her- He tightened his grip on Moose’s throat, causing the man to choke and claw desperately at Alexander’s hand. ‘–will face a fate far worse than death?
And with that, he flung Drunken Moose to the ground like he was an old rag.
“100 lashes, Alexander ordered. “At sunset. In front of the entire pack, bathe him in Rogiara first. I et’s see if he has a soul to claim”
As Alexander walked away, the cheers erupted again. I don’t know if it was hus speech or Drunken Moose’s punishment that triggered it.
But it sent shivers down my spine.

Chapter 12
From the corner of my eye, I noticed a group of older men and women standing on the steps of what appeared to be the main pack
house.
Elders, based on the way they carried themselves. Their gaze flickered between Alexander and me, as if they had just seen the most abominable thing ever.
One of them, a woman with grey hair pulled back in a severe bun, stepped forward. “Primus Alexander,” she said. “Perhaps we should discuss this… unexpected development in private while discussing why the Naturellians are troubled.”
Alexander’s gaze hardened. “There is nothing to discuss, Esmeralda. The Goddess has chosen and I have claimed.”
Esmeralda’s eyes darkened as she looked at me. Like she was sizing me up. I could almost see the calculations running behind those cold eyes.
Alexander came down from the horse and carried me down. But the moment my legs hit the ground they buckled, but he held me upright. His scent wrapped around me, and I felt a tiny bit better, as if his presence was the only thing keeping me sane.
“Very well,” Esmeralda finally said, though her tone suggested it was anything but well. “We welcome our… Luna.”
My vision began to blur again, the spots dancing more frantically now. The pain in my stomach twisted viciously, and I doubled over, a gasp escaping my lips.
Alexander caught me before I hit the ground.
“What’s happening to her?” I heard Katherine stammer loudly. Those were the first words she spoke since she woke up.
I looked up at Alexander, trying to focus on his face, but the only thing I could see was faded light. “I don’t feel right,” I managed to whisper. I held onto him like the world depended on it.
“Get the healer!” Levi barked. “Now!”
As darkness began to creep in at the edges of my vision, I heard Esmeralda’s voice, low but clear enough for me to hear the bitterness in her voice.
“It seems the Goddess rejects what should never have been joined.”
“Then you’re not as wise as you put yourself to be, Esmeralda,” Alexander’s voice boomed, and he tossed me over his shoulder. The moment his shoulder dug into my stomach, the pain intensified. But somehow it soothed me again.
“She needs no healer,” he declared as he entered the palace.
“I do!” I wanted to scream, but how could I when even breathing hurts? My eyes were shut tight, but I could only focus on the feeling of his body against mine as 1 dangled from his shoulder while he kept moving in different directions.
I heard the sound of a door opening and closing behind us. Alexander dumped nie onto a not–so–soft surface.
I really hoped this wasn’t his bed.
Before I could process what was happening, his hands began to move, tugging at my clothes.
He leaned down and gripped the edge of my dress, ripping it in one hard pull.
A gasp left my mouth as the cold air whooshed over my skin.
My breathing hitched. “W–what are you doing?!” I stammered, jumping back.
I raised my hands to cover my breasts as the sound of my heart pounded mercilessly in my ears. Despite the panic, being near him seemed to calm the storm inside me.
His scent, his heat. It was driving me insane, but not in a good way. I knew what he was doing, but I still wasn’t ready for it
“What do you think?” He replied, and I could almost hear a litle bit of excitement in his tone as he stared down at me.
I gasped, unsure whether to breathe or scream as he moved dangerously closer to me with dark eyes. “I am trying to help you here, Aquamarine.”
“What does helping me have to do with undressing me?” I asked out of breath “I need a healer”

Chapter 12
He suddenly pulled me to my feet, and I swayed, but his grip kept me upright. My breath hitched as my body slammed against his hard
one.
My exposed breasts and stiff nipples grazed against his hard chest. I swallowed hard as pressure rose from the unholy friction.
For a moment, I felt like I was melting into him, letting his strength hold me up.
“I assure you that you do not need a healer,” he said to me.
I shivered as his finger traveled down the skin of my clavicle.
“What then do I need?” I whispered.
“What you need is my dick buried deep inside your juicy wet pussy while my teeth sink deep into the crook of your neck,” Alexander replied huskily.
