Chapter 18
Luna Aquamarine’s POV
I felt blood rush to my head and my whole body trembled.
Alexander banged the door shut behind him, leaving me alone in the room which suddenly seemed too hot and suffocating.

My limbs grew heavy and my knees gave out underneath me. I sank to the floor, my sweaty palms hitting the cold floor as I tried to put myself in order.
What just happened?
How could he threaten me like this? One minute he was partially responsive to my question and then, the next he wanted to kill me. All because of a scroll? something I knew nothing about.
There was a soft knock on the door and but I wasn’t able to do anything. The door opened slowly and Juliet walked inside with a tray in her hands.
Her eyes widened when she saw me, “Luna Aquamarine, are you ok?” She rushed to my side, helping me sit.
“Shit, you’re drenched,” She mumbled. I didn’t even realize how bad it was till she patted my face, chest and back with a napkin. “The potion wouldn’t work well without food Luna, you don’t know how lucky you are that Primus Alexander got it.”
Am I really lucky? Or should I ignore the fact that he wants to kill me.
When she was done she sighed and brought the food closer to me. “Please don’t refuse this one, Katherine said you’d like it,” she said with a small smile.
Juliet began feeding but I could only take small bites because my mind was somewhere else. I was curious about something Alexander said.
I looked up at Juliet, “what is Rogiara?” I asked.
“It’s poison.”
My eyes went wide and my jaw went slack.
“Poison?” I repeated, my voice shaking. “Are you serious?”
“I’m very serious, Luna. It’s a deadly one. It can kill within minutes depending on how it’s taken.”
Oh no.
What Alexander said earlier wasn’t a compliment. It was another threat and he’s dragging Katherine into it too.
Juliet stood with her hand on her chin and her eyes low as if she was deep in thoughts, “Are you strong enough to walk, Luna Aquamarine?”
1 couldn’t speak but I nodded. The sound of Juliet’s voice echoed as my eyes were still on the scroll on the table.
I didn’t notice that I was outside till I felt the sun and wind on my face. Juliet must have led me outside while I was deep in thoughts. I noticed the sun was already setting, casting an orange glow over the castle. A carriage immediately stopped in front of us and Juliet helped me inside.
I had no idea where we were going, but I followed her lead regardless. Perhaps, Alexander gave her more instructions
When the carriage stopped, Juliet stepped out and helped me down. But as I looked around, I found myself in the middle of nowhere.
“Over there Luna,” she said pointing at something at the comer of the fence.
1 squinted my eyes and followed where she pointed to
Something making weird cries and dragging its body on the ground Pink skin with red stripes. Like a newborn cat.
But as it moved closer to us I noticed something odd. The thing was struggling to stand and when u managed to kneel, it gnashed its teeth and grabbed a fistful of its hair as if pulling it apart and released a heart–wrenching scream.

Chapter 18
I almost jumped out of my skin at the sound.
Juliet’s voice was detached. “This….. is what Rogiara does to a person. But just imagine what would happen to him if they actually fed Rogiara to him.”
My eyes widened as I took in the gruesome sight.
That’s a person?
I looked at the thing again. Loosely hung eye–patch and a golden crooked tooth.
Wasn’t he the man Alexander had ordered to be punished the night we arrived.
Drunken Moose!
Something swirled in my stomach but I fought the urge to throw up.
This could be Katherine’s and my fate if I don’t find a way to open the scroll.
The thought made my throat run dry.
Let’s go back,” I managed to say.
Juliet nodded and we returned to the carriage, Nobody spoke during the ride back. My mind was a big old mess.
When we got back to the castle, it was already dark outside. We were welcomed by maids asking what I’d like to eat and the temperature of water I’d prefer to use to bathe.
For a second, I felt light. Like I had no worries. But when I caught a glimpse of Levi, talking to Katherine and I felt a sharp pain in my head.
I turned to Juliet, “I forgot something in the study. I need to get it.”
“Let’s go.”
I shook my head. “I’m fine, Juliet. I just need to grab something real fast.”
Juliet turned to one of the maids, a few seconds later, a guard walked up to us and bowed his head. Before I could speak, Juliet had already began talking.
“See her to the study,” Juliet instructed the guard. “She’s not familiar with the layout yet.”
The guard nodded and gestured for me to follow him. I trailed behind him all the way, no words exchanged till we arrived at the study and the guard pushed open the door.
“Thank you,” I said, turning to him. “I’ll be fine from here. You can go.”
The guard bowed and stepped back, allowing me to enter the study alone. I walked over to the desk, to get the item I needed.
Spotting it, I quickly grabbed it and turned to leave
Exiting the study, I looked around, trying to get my bearings.
But the hallways seemed soo unfamiliar and I couldn’t quite remember which direction led back to my room
I walked for what felt like minutes, but every corridor was the same and to make it worse, no guard was in sight. I quickened my pace. hoping to at least see someone
Dismissing that guard was definitely a terrible idea
But, a familiar scent suddenly hit ine. Like dried leaves and ashes, then I heard a sound coming from the same direction and I followed
IL
The closer I got, the more I heard the voices speak softly
I reached a part way and then I caught sight of someone Tall, slender, grey hair and blue robe that I saw once but already imprinted itself in iny brain for an odd reason.

I instantly recognise that chill voice. The Elder that was stylishly rude to me the day I arrived.
Esmeralda
Then I stopped and hid beside a wall as I sneaked a peek. She was softly whispering words to someone while her hands roamed someone’s body.
I leaned in closer, my heart beating faster. I needed to see the person that’s making Esmeralda act like a teenager in heat.
I don’t know why though, but I could feel something was off about her. I’ve never been soo invested in someone else’s mate’s life before.
Still hidden in the corner, I moved out a bit, straining my neck to see whoever the poor guy was she had on chokehold.
Her arms were already rounding the person’s neck as if lowering the person for a kiss and the person obeyed, moving forward towards her.
My feet moved subconsciously towards them.
My wolf was as restless as I was.
No, she was far more restless than I am.
No,
My body moved forward as I caught a glimpse of the person.
Imposing build, extremely tall, broad shoulders and red hair……..
Alexander!??
