Chapter 20
Luna Aquamarine’s POV
The day had finally arrived, and every pack member gathered to witness my coronation as the Luna of the Theriakon Pack.
I stood in front of the mirror in my chambers but I couldn’t recognize the person staring back at me.
The gown was a masterpiece of soft green fabric, with ruby and gold gems attached to it. Each movement I made caused the gems to shine brighter against the light.
The off–shoulder gown fits closely around my upper body, showcasing my curves. From my hips down, the fabric flows out in soft folds, creating a gentle, flowing shape down to my feet.
The long emerald earrings sparkled in the light, complimenting the necklace that had its crystal hanging low on my chest.
My white hair was neatly brushed to fall down to my waist. The maids had even braided some strands with threads of silver and red ornaments. I didn’t even realize my hair was a little wavy till now.
A little dark red lip colouring was applied to my lips and around my eyes. They added a little bit of brown colour to it.
Everything was different from what I used to be, but yet it was something I thought I’d be in the Moonstone pack.
“You look beautiful, Aqua.” Katherine’s voice rang in my ears and I turned to her. Her blue eyes sparkling as she held my arms, “You know, I don’t think this place is that bad.”
She hesitated and continued, “I mean, nobody disrespects you or even hits you for being you.” She cupped my cheek and smiled.
Oh, Katherine.
If only you knew what was really going on. The scroll Alexander had commanded me to open still haunted my thoughts, along with Katherine and I’s conversation yesterday.
*****Flashback*
“Kyrexeis Levi showed me some artifacts with weird symbols on them,” Katherine said as we sat together in her room in the west wing.
“He said they were from our pack, from Moonstone. But I swear on my life, I’ve never seen anything like them before.” She said again with genuine confusion.
“Just be careful,” I whispered instead of telling her everything, hating myself for not being able to offer more protection, more answers.

I couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was more to this whole nonsense than what I knew but the moment I tried approaching Levi, Alexander stopped me.
A soft knock interrupted my spiralling thoughts.

“Luna Aquamarine, it is time for us to walk down to the hall.” A familiar voice announced and I felt my heartbeat quicken.
Katherine squealed, gave me a big hug and a kiss on my forehead. “If only Mother could see how beautiful you’ve grown.” She whispered as I melted into her arins.
She pulled away and gave me one last look before stepping out, leaving me alone with Juliet.
Juliet entered, her warm smile doing little to calm my nerves.
“You look breathtaking, Luna,” she said, adjusting a fold in my dress. “The entire kingdom will be in awe.”
As I descended the stairs with Juliet, the weight of the upcoming ceremony hung heavy in the air, and my mind was still preoccupied
with the scroll
Juliet, I whispered, trying not to draw attention to our conversation as other maids walked beside us. “Have you seen a scroll anywhere? Perhaps in the corridors or .. lost somewhere?”
Juliet raised an eyebrow and then relaxed. Her eyes darted around, making sure no one was hearing us. “A scro!!! No, I haven’t. But if I

do, shall I bring it to you?”
“Yes, but…” I hesitated, then decided to trust her. “Please keep the search quiet. I don’t want to alarm anyone unnecessarily.”
Juliet nodded. “Of course, Luna. Your secrets are safe with me.”
I nodded, thankful for her help. We reached the entrance of the grand hall and I took a deep breath.
I won’t be the same person I was weeks ago.
With a nod from Juliet, the guards stationed at the door pushed the door open.
Immediately I stepped into the great hall, my eyes widened in surprise. The high ceilings were decorated with beautiful carvings. Mighty sculpted pieces were lined at both sides of the wall from the door to the throne.
Instead of just brick walls, there were tall windows with beautiful glass in many colours. The sunlight hitting the windows lit up the chandeliers and filled the room with colorful lights.
The great hall had been transformed into something out of a fairy tale. But it was the guests that truly took my breath away.
Creatures I had only heard about while sneaking in during sessions back at home filled the hall.
Tall, ethereal–looking beings with pointed ears and eyes like starlight.
Massive figures with bird wings folded against their backs stood near the walls.
Extremely short grumpy people with long braided hair who were armed to the teeth.
Extremely tall monsters with big builds and one eye in the middle of their heads.
And there were others I couldn’t even identify. Beings that seemed as if they existed partially in another realm. I had known other supernatural creatures existed, but seeing them gathered in one place was overwhelming.
Frightening but still, beautiful.
As I began my walk down the aisle, whispers and looks followed.
“Look at those eyes…”
“Is she even real?”
“What creature is she?”
My steps faltered for just a moment, the familiar sting of judgment and fear threatening to break my composure. But I refused to let them see weakness.
Not today. Not ever,
I lifted my chin higher and straightened my shoulders, meeting the stares with as much dignity as I could muster. Just like Alexander always did
Speaking of the devil, Alexander stood in his full glory on the dais in the middle of the hall quite far from the throne.
Dare I say, he looked devilishly handsome.
He was magnificent in his ceremonial robes, all green and ruby clasps, looking every inch the powerful and deadly creature he was His red curly hair was neatly brushed like mine but he had more of his hair strands braided. His golden eyes glowed as I watched his eyes roam my body while I walked up to hum.
He looked like a predator, proud of his hunt. I felt a shiver run down my spine.
Esmeralda and an elderly man also stood at the dais. Both were dressed in the same blue robes I always say Esmeralda on and I took it that he was also an Elder
I stood beside Alexander when I got to the dais. A sword rack, a gulden goblet and a small dagger were all placed on a round table
Just like Juliet had lectured me late yesterday. It’s supposed to be a short mating ritual, but since Alexander had already marked me the

night we arrived, I only had to accept
I suddenly felt a sharp sting in my neck and I almost screamed out, gripping Alexander’s strong arm.
Alexander’s fangs were sinking into my neck.
Why on earth was he marking me again?!!

The pain wasn’t as intense as the first one, but he still held me possessively. I closed my eyes shut as I took in the slight pain. Then his tongue grazed over the spot and pulled away softly.

His eyes had changed yet again and he smirked while I glared at him. He let his fingers run over the spot while my knees were shaking like jelly.

From the corner of my eyes I could see Esmeralda, her hand clenched at her sides as she rolled her tongue. But I paid no mind to it.
The Elder nodded, then he and Esmeralda took the staff from the stand and raised it up, as if it was heavy.

“With this union, I hand over the staff of authority to you,” he announced as he handed me the staff.
I felt a spark as I touched the rod. Like harmless sparks of lightning at my fingertips, but surprisingly the staff was very..
Compared to the way Esmeralda carried it. It was like a long golden rod with a full moon on its head.
I didn’t have time to look at it well, so I faced the crowd and smiled softly as all heads bowed.
Well, aside from Alexander, who stood tall and proud.

After another bow from Esmeralda and the Elder, Alexander offered his arm. I took it, allowing my body to rest on his while the staff was on my other hand. We stepped down and began walking towards the huge throne at the end of the hall.
“It’s a good thing you didn’t pass out or let the staff touch the ground,” Alexander whispered.
“Why?” I asked curiously. “What would have happened?”
“Then as per tradition,” he said and he paused.
For some reason, his pause sent shivers down my spine.
“The members would have to kill you.“.
