Chapter 1
It was Valentine’s Day. He kicked my belly. So, we lost our baby.
A naked young woman was carried out of the ambulance, and there was ambiguous liquid on her legs.
A doctor came to me in a hurry and asked me to take charge of the surgery. I went to find the woman’s family to sign the operation notification.
“I’ll sign it!”
When I saw the man, I was stunned.
He was Antonio Kaufman, my husband, the man I spent my life with!
It was Valentine’s Day. He was not with me because he said he was busy at work when the truth was that he was dating another woman.
Without hesitation, he wrote “husband” as referring to their relationship. It made me feel nauseated.
I was wearing surgical scrubs and a mask, so he didn’t recognize me.
He grabbed my hands and kept begging me. “Doc, please save my wife, please!”
I simply yanked his hand away.
At the same time, the wedding band slipped off his finger and fell to the ground.

After all, I still went to the operating room because saving lives wast
paramount.
My face darkened as I looked at the woman lying on the operating table, her hair tousled and her face drained of color.
Who would have guessed that the woman lying there was Tania Becker, my best friend?
After all this time. I failed to notice that something had been going on
between them.
Before I could gather my thoughts, her legs began to tremble uncontrollably. She was clearly in a lot of pain.
knew I had to start the operation now.
Inside her private part, a cucumber was stuck there, and on top of it, there was a tennis ball!
If I couldn’t get them out soon, her life would be at risk.
This was absolutely absurd and I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Moreover, the one who did such a thing was my beloved husband.
I was about to sedate her and use forceps to take those things out.
But even at this point, as she was in so much pain that she was bathed in sweat, she was still flirting with my husband.
“Antonio, where are you? Just get in here; I’m so scared without you!
“Doc, just let him in!”
I pressed down on her quivering body, looked at the anesthetist, and

motioned him to jab her.
But she pushed him away and got up from the operating table regardless. of the pain in her lower body.
“If you don’t let him in, I won’t accept the surgery.”
Everyone in the operating room was amazed, for they had never met such
a crazy woman.
To break the deadlock, the doctor in charge waved his hand and gestured for Antonio to come in.
“Get him sterilized.
“Just stay there and don’t touch anything,” the doctor ud.
After Antonio was sterilized, he rushed over and pushed me away just to hold Tania’s hands.
“It was all my fault. I had gone too wild.”
Tania raised her hand, caressed Antonio’s face, and forced a smile.
“It’s OK. We’ll try it again, as long as you are happy.”
“You were simply too hot, did you know it? I’ll do anything for you.”
I paused as they were flirting with each other and the scalpel slipped from my hand.
Antonio thought that I was so careless and shouted at me in rage, “You’re a doctor, OK? What if you dropped that scalpel on her body? You could have hurt her!
“You’d better be focused. If anything happens to my wife, you’ll be in

huge trouble!
“If you’re not capable of doing it, just say it now. So, I’ll take her to Grandview Hospital. I know some doctors there, and they are way more professional than you guys.”
Wife?
I smiled bitterly inside.
I got it now. He brought her here, instead of Grandview Hospital, to avoid me, since I worked there.
But he would never have guessed that I would be in this hospital today for instruction teaching.
And I happened to run into him and his girlfriend.
No one in this hospital knew my husband, so he had nothing to worry about.
That was also why he dared to pretend to be her husband.
He would be so shocked if he knew that I was standing right in front of him and listening to his filthy words.
It didn’t take long to finish the operation. After she was sedated, I pulled those things out of her with forceps.
When the surgery was over and I walked out of the OR, I heard someone in the hallway speaking impatiently.
“Just find an excuse, and tell her that I’m kinda busy right now, and I don’t have the kind of time to celebrate Valentine’s Day with her.
“Tell her that I’m in an important meeting and not to call me today.”
