Chapter 5
Tamia shouted so loud that people in the neighboring wards came close to their door and heard everything she said.
She kept going. “You’re a doctor. And doctors make sacrifices. The good stuff goes to the needed. How about let me have this single ward?”
Hearing this, other patients jumped in.
“It’s not fair. How come she gets a single ward? Just because she’s a doctor? I was here first!”
“I was told there’s no vacancy. And when she asks for it, suddenly there is one? This hospital is so unfair!”
“Right. I want a single ward too. It’s terrible to share a room with others. I don’t even want to use the bathroom.”
The racket and chaos went on and on.
Nurses‘ explanations sounded far–stretched to them.
People only believed what they wanted to believe when riled up. Words wouldn’t help.
Antonio seemed reluctant and said, “Tania’s case was more serious. How about letting her have it? She needs it more than others.”

Seeing I got angry, he was at a loss for words, staring at me like I was some freak.
“Over a ward?”
His absurdity made me speechless.
“Shame on you! I know everything about you and Tania. I didn’t expect. you to be such a hypocrite, with your filthy kink going on in the back.”
Just as I finished the sentence, his phone rang.
He picked it up with confusion on his face.
“Where did you get my number? Tania’s fine. You don’t have to come
here.
“What? You’re already here? Aren’t you supposed to be abroad now?”
“Who’s on the phone?” I asked, thrilled to see him panicking.
It was me who reached out to Tania’s fiancé.
I simply told him that Tania was seriously ill and was undergoing
resuscitation.
And now it was up to Antonio to come up with an explanation,
