Chapter 8
Antonio really wouldn’t give up.
He never cooperated with the divorce process.
As a lawyer, Antonio knew the whole procedure better than anyone. He refused to divorce me, yet spent every day with Tania, flirting and playing love games
He’d even text me just to mess with me.
“In such a hurry to get divorced? Can’t wait to be with your man, huh?
“If you’re seeing someone else, I’ll agree to the divorce and let you two be together. But if you’re leaving me because of Tania… forget it.
“The baby you were carrying… is it his too?”
At first, I ignored everything he said.
But I underestimated how dirty Antonio could be.
He kept stalling the divorce while twisting the truth.
He told everyone Tania only asked him for help with IVF. Nothing more. nothing less.
Say a lie a hundred times, and someone will believe it.
Some people even said I was the one clinging to him, making trouble out of nothing.
My friends tried to persuade me. They told me to apologize to Antonio

and let go of the past.
”
When Antonio saw the rumors turning in his favor, he was rather pleased. and sent me another message.
“As long as you admit you’re seeing someone else, I’ll agree to live a good life with you from now on.”
I laughed out loud. Did this man trick himself into believing his own lies?
A few days later, I went back to the house to pick up my laptop and pack some stuff.
I wanted to avoid Antonio, but fate had other plans. Antonio came back holding Tania’s hand.
I quickly hid in the bedroom. They didn’t notice me.
Tania’s voice was sharp with anger. “Everyone in the neighborhood calls me a homewrecker now. You’ve no idea how angry I am! You have to make that bitch pay for this!”
Antonio gently comforted her.
“I will. And thank you for telling me about her affair. I always wondered how she suddenly got pregnant… We tried so many times, and she never did.”
His voice even trembled a little at the end.
“I really loved her… I chased her for three years to win her over. I never thought she’d betray me… I loved her so much.”
Tania stepped forward and hugged him tenderly.
“It’s okay… You have me now. I was the one who suggested IVF to give
you a child… just to show you how much I love you.
“Antonio… When the baby is born, you’ll love us both, right?”
I stood inside the room, silently laughing.
That morning. I had already asked the hospital to do a DNA test.
The baby in Tania’s belly… wasn’t Antonio’s at all.
