Chapter 166

On the weekend. Sienna arrived early at the intersection at Lyceum Street, waiting for Josiah to pick her up. The entire Flynn family was eager to see her performance that night. Since the show started at 8:20 PM, Miranda suggested they grab dinner beforehand at Lucky Dining

Josiah pulled up in under five minutes. He stepped out of the car, a hint of nervousness on his face. Sorry, did you have to wait long?”

Not at allSienna replied as she got in the car, I just got here early. You’re so busy and you really didn’t need to pick me up. I could’ve made it on

my own

she’d mentioned this on the phone, but Josiah hadn’t agreed. Hearing it again now irked him a bi

Josiah held the car door, a slight

Sienna sensed his imitation but didn’t probe further. She just gave a brief nod. Yeah. I get it.”

Josiah wasn’t entirely convinced she truly understood, but he closed the car door and headed to Lucky Dining with her

Everyone’s settled in the private room, including Miranda and the crew

Sienna, pull up a chair right here,Miranda said, parting the spot next to her. Yvette’s on the other side, so Howard and Josiah have to scoot over

Miranda, all smiles, said with excitement. Isn’t in je be. Tonight’s gonna be a great family dinner

Sienna didn’t take the whole family thing, but she didn’t argue with Miranda’s comment, just smiled and said, I’m really looking forward to this. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Lucky DiningTM

She’d dined here when she was with the Flynn family and it had been over four years since she used to come around often

Miranda looked at Josiah, raiving an eyebrow. Josiah, what’s the deal? You haven’t been taking Sienna out much, have you?”

Josiah was speechless. He wanted to take Sienna out, but she had to be willing too. They had only just started dating

Don’t worry, Grandma,he said, glancing at Sienna. Till make sure Sienna gets to try all the good places from now on.But Sienna seemed her own thoughts, not even looking his way

The waiter came in with the food and started serving everyone, saying. Enjoy your meal

Howard, sining in his wheelchair, tried to put the waiter’s arm, signaling him to portion out the food

Yvette, surprised, looked at him. Howard, what do you want?she asked, ready to help him

But Howard shook his head, collected some food, moved the plate closer to Sienna, and smiled at her, NoSSienna, try some of this. It’s really good.”

Sienna looked down to find her favorite dishes right in front of her. She felt a warm feeling inside. Thanks, Howard,” she said

“You got it.Howard smiled and left

Beside Sienna, Josiah was already serving her some potatoes. He knew it was her kind of main dish. He whispered, Is this good? Want more

This is great.Sienna replied. There’s plenty here.”

Josiah nodded and started peeling shrimp, putting them on her plate. Go ahead. These won’t make you gain weight, he said

Sienna hesitated, her plate already full from what Miranda had recommended. Don’t do this, or I won’t be able to finish and it’ll go to waste,” she warned

No problem.Joush said and grinned at her. Eat what you can, and I’ll take care of the rest.”

Yvette watched all this and felt a bit left out. In this family setting, does anyone even notice me anymore!she wondered

Sienna was digging into her food, her long hair spilling over her shoulders. Josiah reached over and tucked it behind her ear

Chapter 166

I got this, she said, pulling a hairband out of her bag and quickly tying her hair back..

Yvette’s eyes flicked to Sienna’s hairband. Isn’t that the same one Josiah dropped a while back! Oh, I get it. So Josiah has got it for her? Either way, this is getting juicy

that hairb

hairband was Sienna’s, or maybe

After they’d mostly polished off their meal, Sienna got up and headed to the bathroom. When she came out. Yvette was at the sink, touching up makeup. Sienna just ignored her and bent down to wash her hands

Hey, Sienna,Yvette said

Sienna looked up, caught off guard, and wondered if Yvette was really talking to her

Could you grah me a cotton pad from my makeup bag? I messed up my lipstickYvette said with a bright smile, pointing to her bag on the counter. My hands are full.”

Sienna heated for a sec

a second, then took a breath and opened the makeup bag

The pink pouch. See it? Yvette added

Sienna didn’t see the pouch, but her eyes landed on a hairbandjust like the one she had on. She looked back up at Yvette, her eyes narrowing

s up?Yvette asked, pretending to be confused. Why are

are you looking at me like that?”

Uh, what’s

Sienna smirked. So Yvette was trying to show her up with the hairband. She sized Yvette up, her gaze steady

Why are you staring at me like that?Yvette shifted a bit under her gaze

Sienna’s smile turned a bit sassy. Tve gotta give it to you. You’re going after both Howard and Josiah, huh? How do you pull off being so bold”

Yvene’s face drained of color. Sienna, what are you even talking about?”

Sienna yanked the hairband from her hair, waving it in front of Yvette. You showed me that on purpose, right? Trying to hint you and Josiah have some secret thing going on!

“LYvette was speechless. Yeah, she wanted to

Ito get under Sienna’s s skin, but not like this

Please,” Sienna scoffed. Tve known about your little games with him for years. Oh, well, and your story. No need to try and subtly remind me.”

Sienna, just stopYvette snapped, both mad and embarrassed. You’re so quick to think the worst. Josiah and I grew up together. Our connection is way deeper than you can fathom”

Girl, I’m not even trying to fathon

to fathom. Whatever, Sienna shrugged, tossing the hairband

nd in the trash

She looked up and saw Josiah standing at the door, having found her without her noticing
