Chapter 442
The phone rang. It was Derek. Sienna’s face paled, and she steeled herself to answer. “Hello, Mr. Pittman.”
“Sienna,” groaned Derek. He was under pressure from the production team and at his wit’s end. “The trending topic…haven’t you dealt with it yet? Can’t you clarify? Who is that man? What’s your relationship with him?” he asked.
Sienna couldn’t blame Derek for being suspicious. There hadn’t been any response from her side to date.
Derek bluntly asked, “Tell me the truth. What’s going on, Sienna? Don’t tell me you really…
“I–I… stammered Sienna.
Derek cut in urgently, “Sienna, the online community is harsh on artists nowadays. Pay your taxes, don’t sleep around–these are the bare minimum requirements. You’ve just started your career…
“Ruining the drama is one thing, but do you still want to work in this industry? This could get you blacklisted. It’ll be over for you.”
Josiah overheard the commotion. He set down his glass of water and walked over.
Rosie whispered to him, “It’s Mr. Derek Pittman.”
Josiah frowned and nodded. He stood in front of Sienna, extending his arm toward her. “Give me your phone,” he coaxed with his palms opened
toward her.
Sienna hesitated, struggling internally. She knew very well what it would mean to hand over her phone…
“Give it to me,” urged Josiah, not forcing her, his tone persuasive, “I promise. I’m just helping you out of this. I won’t bother you because of this. Trust me, okay?”
Sienna wavered, wondering, ‘Can I trust him?‘
“Give it to me,” cajoled Josiah, moving his hand closer to her again.
Sienna bit her lip and placed the phone in his palm…
Josiah quickly closed his hand around the phone, bringing it to his ear. He lowered his eyelids slightly and spoke in a deep voice, “Mr. Pittman, it’s Josiah.”
Derek exclaimed in surprise, “Mr. Flynn… no… Mr. Evans!”
Josiah wasn’t concerned about minor details now. He declared straight off, “I just found out about this. I’ll take care of it right away. Don’t worry, Mr.
Pittman.
“That’s kind of you, Mr. Evans. I’m sorry to trouble you,” replied Derek.
“That’s settled then,” stated Josiah before ending the call, passing the phone back to Sienna and taking out his phone.
‘I’ll have someone take care of it right away. You don’t need to do anything,” added Josiah.
Sienna nodded slowly, clutching her phone tightly.
Half an hour later, a post from Edgar–Josiah was trending on Instagram.
The word “photoshopped” was captioned on the picture circulating online with a long paragraph stating: [We were only made aware of this incident after being informed.
[At the beginning of Sienna’s debut in Maze, I was amazed by her. I fell for her and pursued her. However, I did not meet her expectations for a
lover.
[After nearly a year of dating, we broke up at the end of last month and are no longer lovers. I respect and accept her decision.
[The rumors spread online are malicious rumors and are not true. The past is in the past, and I shouldn’t have brought it up again. I’m sorry to disturb her. I hope she’s well.]
Between the lines, it not only clarified their past legitimate relationship but also stated that they have now broken up and have nothing to do with
each other.
Moreover, in this Instagram post, Edgar–Josiah didn’t tag Sienna as if he really didn’t want to disturb her anymore.

Sienna held her phone and finished looking at the post.
Her heart surged, and she looked at Josiah uncertainly. “Will it work? Will they believe it? Will that person come out and refute it?”
“Don’t worry, consoled Josiah, shaking his head, his eyes calm. Then he added. “He wouldn’t dare. If he dared, he wouldn’t have blurred out Ryan’s picture. Besides, he would have seen the trending topic now.
The corner of his lips curled up, and he couldn’t restrain his ruthlessness as he continued, “Since he knows to threaten you, he naturally knows how to weigh things up Can he afford to offend the one I want to protect?
Sienna’s heart skipped a beat as understanding came over her. What Josiah did was not only to resolve the crisis for her but also to warn that person
If that person was still rational, they would stop this now.
At this point, the matter seemed to have been resolved. The atmosphere suddenly became quiet, and Sienna’s mind instantly relaxed.
Sienna’s eyelashes fluttered, and she pursed her lips, hesitatingly saying. “Thank you.”
“Hmm.” Josiah nodded and gave a faint smile. “You are welcome.” He looked down at her, his eyes filled with tenderness.
Sienna felt a pang in her heart. She looked away uncomfortably, avoiding his gaze.
Josiah’s smile faded. Tm going in to see Joyce. He sighed.
As soon as he left, Rosie, holding her phone, trotted over to Sienna. “Sienna, look!” she exclaimed.
Because of Josiah’s Instagram post, public opinion had taken a hundred eighty degree turn.
[And that’s why you should wait till the end before commenting. I’m tired of repeating this…]
[Where are the haters now? Why aren’t they speaking up?]
[How could anyone in this world dislike Mr. Evans? It’s such a shame.]
[I used to ship them so hard.]
Following closely behind were numerous technical analyses, all claiming that the picture was photoshopped.
[Can the person who maliciously photoshopped that picture just drop dead?]
[Who did Sienna offend?]
[Is dancing at Maze a crime? Is there something wrong with Sienna and Mr. Evans being in a relationship?]
[Everyone, please disperse. Let’s not disturb Sienna. Mr. Evans will be upset if he finds out.]
[Oh my god, Mr. Evans is such a tragic hero.]
[Will my ship have a happy ending?]
The incredible power of public opinion transformed Sienna’s image from being universally condemned to admire overnight.
Rosie sighed. “It’s finally over. A close call, but everything turned out alright. It’s just like a rollercoaster ride.”
“Yes,” Sienna murmured, her eyes downcast. “It’s like a dream.”
A few days later, while Joyce was taking her afternoon nap, Sienna woke up first and went out.
As she was putting her hair up, someone knocked on the door. Careful not to wake Joyce, Sienna went over to open it. It was Cedric, whom she hadn’t seen in days.
“Cedric, Sienna greeted him with a small smile. “You’re back. Come in…” She stepped aside to let him in.
“Yes.” Cedric nodded slightly and walked over to the couch and sat down.
Sienna followed him in. “What would you like to drink? Water or something else?” she asked.

“Nothing, thank you” Cedric shook his head, interrupting her. “Sienna, sit down. I need to talk to you.”
“Okay.” Sienna smiled and sat down as she was told. “What is it? Tell me.”
Cedric paused for a moment before saying, “I only just found out about what happened to you. I’m sorry I couldn’t help. He was referring to the trending topic online.
Sienna was taken aback for a moment, then she burst into laughter. “Why are you apologizing? Besides, it’s all been resolved…”
“I know,” Cedric said, his lips curving into a bitter smile, his eyes downcast. “But when you needed me the most, I wasn’t there…
“Stop it,” Sienna interjected sharply. “Don’t say that…”
“Let me finish,” Cedric lowered his voice and said self–deprecatingly, “I always thought that the reason we couldn’t be together was because of my
parents.
“But now, my parents aren’t in the way, yet I’m still one step behind. I get it now. The problem is me.”
