Chapter 179
The pain left Jacob gasping for breath. “She’s incredibly tough. After I took off her coat, she kicked right through the car window, grabbed a shard of glass, and lunged at me.”
Tm not
not lying. Look for yourselves. She did all this,” he cried, rolling up his sleeve to reveal his arms, which were covered in multiple cuts.
“Shut up. Stop crying” Joush wasn’t there to listen to Jacob sob. “Tim asking you, where is she?”
I don’t know Jacob shook his head.
“Sull doesn’t know?” Josiah briefly closed his eyes and then looked down at Yvette, who had her arms wrapped tightly around his waist. “Yvette, let go. Today I’m going to finish him off. That fool won’t talk until he’s on the edge of death.”
⠀ “No” Yvette didn’t dare to let go. He really might not know.”
Jacob curled up on the ground, crying even harder. “I really don’t know. She stabbed me and then got out of the car and ran. I… I couldn’t catch her”
Yvette looked up at Josiah. “I think he’s telling the truth. At this point, there’s no reason for him to hide anything”
Josiah understood. He closed his eyes, feeling a deep sense of despair. “Where could Sienna have gone? And if she stabbed Jacob with glass shards. what about her! Was she injured?”
Suddenly, he opened his eyes and glared at Jacob. Tell me, where was she
“What?” Jacob’s mind was already in a complete mess.
“Asking for death? Josiah’s eyes flashed with anger.
As he was about to lose his temper again, Yvette clung to him tightly, struggling to keep her grip
“I remember!” Jacob was so scared he almost had a heart attack. He cried, “At the Stone Road intersection. She got out of the car there”
Jacob shivered, barely able to breathe. “She ran away. As for the rest, I really don’t know.”
At the Stone Road intersection, Howard sat in his wheelchair, his face tense. Finally, he said, “Josiah, that’s enough. Let him go.
He glanced at Jacob with disdain, as if he were just a piece of trash. His voice was calm, almost casual, but it sent a chill down Jacob’s spine
He said. “Listen carefully. If you’re lying about even one word, I won’t kill you. But in Jeiacrity–I have ways to make you wish you were dead”
Then Howard pressed the button on his wheelchair, turned it around, and headed out as he softly called, “Hervey
Hervey immediately stepped forward to steady the wheelchair. “Don’t worry, Howard. I’ll send someone over right away”
Stone Road was a lonely stretch, far from any village or store, with no development planned in the surrounding area. If Sienna got off here, no one would know where she might go. So, Hervey and Zach rallied a team to search and investigate there.
As dawn broke, Josiah was still awake. He hadn’t closed his eyes all night. Sleep just wouldn’t come; Sienna had been missing for nearly 24 hours.
He thought, “When she left, she wasn’t wearing anything warm, and she didn’t take her phone. She has no friends or family in the city. Where could she be? Is she cold? Is she hungry? Why am I just sitting here! Why am I not the one suffering instead?
Miranda woke up, went downstairs, and realized there was still no news. Her anxiety once again sent her blood pressure rising. “Where on earth has Sienna gone?”
It had been nearly 24 hours since Sienna went missing. Hervey and Zach reported back, saying they’d searched every inch of Stone Road but found
no trace of her.
It was as if she had vanished into thin air. There were no check–ins at any hotels or inns, no records at the train stations or airports, and not even a menting of lier at any accident sites.
Yvette came over to call them for breakfast, “Miranda, Howard, Jusial, lacakfast is re

Yvette said. “Miranda, I know you’re worried, but you really need to take care of yourself. She then turned to Howard. “And the same goes for you. You’re still in rehab, so make sure you’re eating to keep your strength up”
Howard nodded and glanced at Josiah “Come cat.”
“No.” Josiah shook his head as he began to walk upstairs. “Miranda, Howard, you eat. I just can’t”
Josiah Yvette tried to stop him.
But Howard interrupted, “Let him go. He deserves this.”
Yvette was stunned. Is Howard standing up for Sienna
Upstairs. Josiah didn’t go to his own room. Instead, he went to Sienna’s room, got cozy in his clothes, and lay down on her bed.
His cheek pressed deep into the pillow as he breathed in, surrounded by Sienna’s scent. “Where are you, really?” he whispered.
He hadn’t closed his eyes all night, and even as he lay there, he was wide awake. Every time he tried to shut them, his head throbbed like it was about to explode.
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed when there was a knock on the door. “Mr. Flynn, Zach called outside.
Josiah reluctantly got up and opened the door, his eyes bloodshot. “What’s going on?”
“Here’s the thing. Zach began. Sensing Josiah’s bad mood, he didn’t want to make it worse, but there were issues at the company that couldn’t wait. After Zach finished speaking, Josiah nodded. “Got it. I’ll clean up and head to the office right away.”
“Alright. Mr. Flynn, Zach replied,
Josiah returned to his room, took a quick shower, shaved, and put on some fresh clothes
Just then. Yvette came by. Seeing the redness in his eyes and the heavy dark circles, she gently suggested, “You’re heading to the office? Why not eat something first!”
“No need, Josiah replied.
Yvette grabbed his arm. “If you were staying home, I wouldn’t say anything. But you’re going out on an empty stomach. How do you expect to have any energy!”
Josiah took a deep breath and pulled away. “I can’t eat. Sienna might be starving right now.”
Yvette paused, laughing out of anger. “Is it my fault she’s hungry? Why are you yelling at me?”
Josiah’s voice suddenly rose, and his brows furrowed. “Yvette, stop taking things that belong to Sienna.”
“What?” Yvette was taken aback. “What did I take from her?”
“That evening dress. Josiah slightly narrowed his eyes. “You knew I ordered it for Sienna, yet you insisted on taking it
Yvette stood there in disbelief, letting out a frustrated laugh. “You’re blaming me? Over a dress?“.
After a moment of thought, Josiah continued, his expression tensing up. “If Sienna had the dress, she could’ve come to the party. Then none of this would have happened”
“You
