Chapter 187
As Rosie cried so much, Sienu felt she couldn’t say more. After leaving the apartment building, she stayed gloomy.
Josiah drove the car while trying to console her, “Are you still worried about your friend?”
Siena didn’t speak and just nodded.
“I want to say something, but please don’t get upset.” Josiah tapped the steering wheel lightly. “She’s just a friend. You can care about her and help her, but you can’t live her life for her. Try not to worry too much, okay?”
Sienna nodded, still feeling gloomy as she looked out the w
window–she really didn’t understand
Earlier, as Sienna said Daniel had a wiffe. Rosie was extremely calm about it, not surprised at all. It seemed like she already knew. Sienna couldn’t understand why she was still getting so involved with Daniel.
Although they hadn’t known each other for long, Siena didn’t think Rosie was the kind of person to get involved with a married man. She just couldn’t understand what was going on.
Sienna and Josiah didn’t speak the whole way until they arrived at Silver Beach. The car drove through the community gates, and the security guard greeted them with a smile, “Mr. and Mrs. Flynn, welcome home.
Thanks,” Josiah smiled, feeling quite pleased.
Sienna was taken aback and looked at him. He had called her his wife carlier, and she really hated that label. She frowned and asked, “Why is he calling me Mrs. Flynn!”
Josiah acted like it was no big deal, “Of course, I said it.”
Sienna found it amusing. “Are you forgetting things? We’re already divorced?”
Josiah was momentarily taken aback. As the car entered the garage, he parked and turned to face her. His eyes darkened; he didn’t expect her reaction to be so intense.
He admitted fault first. “Sorry, but it’s just a habit. For four years, you’ve been my wife. How long has it been since we divorced? I just slipped up” Sienna wasn’t sure whether to believe him. She bit her lip and said, “A wife is different from a girlfriend, so please, get it right.”
Josiah froze for a moment before reluctantly agreeing. “Alright, no problem. But soon, he felt a strange itch in his jaw. Unable to help himself, be glanced up at her.
With a teasing tone, he said. “Have you ever thought that if we keep moving forward and things calm down a bit, we might have a chance to get back together!”
“No way” Sienna quickly replied, almost cutting him off, leaving no room for doubt.
Josiah didn’t expect her to respond so quickly and firmly. It stung him a bit, and he asked with frustration, “Why?”
“It’s simple. We tried marriage; it didn’t work, did it? It’s a path that doesn’t fit us. Why go through the same mistakes again! Sienna picked up her bag, opened the car door, and got out.
Josiah sat in stunned silence for a couple of seconds before getting out. His face was tense and even darker than the night around them.
After taking a shower, Sienna lay in bed and started watching videos on her tablet.
Josiah joined her a moment later, climbing into bed and wrapping his arms around her. “What are you watching?
Sienna was so engrossed in the video. She just pointed it without bothering to reply.
“Oh, that show Poker Face. It’s not bad,” Josiah said, holding her tighter and tighter and getting a little restless. He leaned down to give her a peck on the hair, then moved down to kiss her cheek.
Sienna was fed up and put down her tablet. “You’re annoying.“
“Not at all” Josiah stared at her beautiful face, his eyes lighting up. “Sienna, it’s been a while

touching—how was he supposed to manage! He gave her a pleading look. “Sienna, have some pity on me.”
Too bad. Sienna was hard–hearted. She pushed him away without any pity. “I told you already, I’m not interested for now.”
“You did say that Josiah frowned, trying to persuade. “But hasn’t it been days?”
“Oh. can’t wait anymore?” Sienna looked at him mockingly “Well, you can always find someone
“Sienna Shaw!” Josiah cut her off. His lips pressed into a line as he suppressed his annoyance. “If you don’t want me to touch you, I won’t. Just don’t say things to annoy me on purpose.” With that, he threw off the covers and headed to the bathroom.
Sienna was puzzled. What’s he up to? Acting like a virtuous husband? Why? For me? Suddenly, her heart skipped a beat. ‘No, could it be? In our relationship, respect and loyalty aren’t exactly good signs.
The next day. Sienna finally had a day off, Josiah didn’t go to the office and took her to Pine Valley Golf Course.
Josiah had some work to do here too. Businesspeople often made important decisions in informal settings like this. Of course, he arrived early to spend some time with Sienna first
After all, Sienna was an adopted daughter of the Flynn family. Miranda had spared no expense in educating Sienna, raising her according to high society standards. This was why Sienna had mixed feelings about the Flynns over the years.
Miranda had hired a teacher specifically for Sienna to learn golf. Although Sienna didn’t play much and her skills were average, they were good enough for casual social events.
“You’re doing well” Josiah was a bit surprised.
Sienna raised an eyebrow. “I don’t play much, so I’m a little rusty.”
Just then, Yosef and two other men dressed like elites walked towards them.
Sienna lifted her chin towards Josiah. “They’re looking for you. Go and take care of it
“Alright” Josiah wasn’t in a hurry. He took the towel from around his neck and wiped her sweat cold if the breeze hits you.”
“Make sure to wipe off your sweat. You’ll catch a
“If you get tired of playing, take a break.” Josiah held her hand and pointed in a direction. Over there was the lounge, where people could rest and enjoy the scenery outside.
“Got it. Just go, Sienna urged, annoyed by his nagging. He wasn’t like this before, and she guessed it was because he was getting older. That even reminded her of her grandina.
“Wait fo
“Wait for me.” Josiah withdrew his hand without getting angry. “Tll take you for something delicious at noon.”
Sienna frowned. “I don’t like dining with you and your business associates. A table full of scheming businessmen gives me indigestion.”
“Don’t worry. It’s just us” Josiah liked it when she made requests of him–she looked so lively and vibrant then. I’m heading out,” he said, waving his
hand
“Yeah, see you, Sienna replied. Somehow, after he left, she swung a few more times but felt bored and went to the lounge.
Although Josiah was dealing with business, he noticed that Siena stopped playing quickly. Is it because I’m not with her? Has she become so dependent on me? he thought, a smile spreading across his face.
Suddenly, a loud explosion
rang out, followed by another, Josiah and the others turned their heads at once, staring toward the lounge, where flames were ibination on and thick emskemu nouring out.
