The loud wail of an ambulance filled the air. “Mr. Flynn! The ambulance is here! The paramedics hurried out of the car to check on Yvette. providing her with life–saving aid before they gently placed her on a stretcher.

“Got it. Mr. Flynn!”
As soon as he got into the car, Josiah called Zach. “Zach. Sienna-
“Mr. Flynn!” Zach’s anxious voice interrupted. “The cargo dock is on fire! The flames are huge! We can’t get near!”
‘On fire! How could that be? Andy!” Anger flared in Josiah’s eyes, and his jaw tightened as if it might break. His heart raced as frustration bubbled Inside him. “What about the firemen! Haven’t they shown up”
“They’re here!” Zach replied quickly. The firefighters are trying to put out

flames at the cargo hold! Once the fire dies down, we’ll rush in!”
“Wait? Could Sienna afford to wait! Josiah’s determination grew, and he frowned, trying to piece his thoughts together
Andy had said that Yvette was at cargo dock, while Sienna was at Emerald Ridge–one to the eastern district of the city, the other to the western district. He was certain he hadn’t misheard, but now he wondered if Andy had made a mistake.
The east dock blazed fiercely. “Hello! Is anyone there?” Sienna shouted, desperation in her voice as she lifted a chair she’d sat on moments before and struck it against the steel door with all her strength. But the door didn’t budge…
“What can I do? Am I really going to die here today? Fear gripped her, as it does with everyone; Sienna was no exception. Though she couldn’t see the flames yet, thick smoke was already seeping through the door’s cracks.
She frowned, her throat burning. With each cry and the suffocating smoke, her energy faded until she slumped against the door, falling to the floor. She gasped for air, feeling her body betray her as heat and lack of oxygen clouded her vision, turning everything red and flushing her face. In her despair, Sienna closed her eyes. She feared she might not survive this
In her life, the only moments of happiness were when she was a little girl, surrounded by her loving parents. But those joys didn’t last; her father’s betrayal and her mother’s early death shattered her world.
Her grandfather had died of grief, and though her grandmother was old, she raised her. Then the day o came when she lost her grandmother too. The Flynn family took her in, but she always felt like an outsider in their home. Even when they treated her poorly, she never complained. Her grandmother had taught her the importance of gratitude,
*So tired… Sienna whispered, her eyes still closed. Thinking about the last twenty years exhausted her. She thought, “Maybe leaving this world could be freeing. Perhaps Heaven would be kind to me.”
Suddenly, a loud crash jolted Sienna awake. Her eyes flew open opening where bright firelight poured in

She felt unloved; her life had been filled with struggles, but she couldn’t allow herself to die. She thought, What will happen to Joyce! If I were gone, my daughter would face the same tragic fate. Joyer is still so young…
She couldn’t let Joyce suffer through the same pain she had. She had to survive. She must. As a mother, she didn’t have the right to be selfish die alone.

Sienna cried aloud. “Joyce, Joyce… Despite trying her hardest, she couldn’t budge the door. Her delicate fingers dug into th

But that wasn’t all; soon, her fingertips were cut, and blood ran down her hands. Joyce, Joyce…
Outside, when Cedric arrived, firefighters had already sealed off the area and were battling the raging fire. “Do not enter! The rescued people are over by the ambulances; some have already been taken to the hospital; you can ask there!”
Cedric rushed over to check. As he searched, he found no mention of Sienna’s name and didn’t see her among the ambulances. This meant she was still inside. But the firefighters wouldn’t let him through.
Frowning, Cedric thought about the cargo dock, which he knew well, as his family had rented it out.
With the front blocked, he planned another route. Cedric headed around to the southeast corner of the cargo dock. Facing the flames, Cedric grabbed a blanket from his car trunk and soaked it with water.
Once it was wet enough, he secured it over his head and dashed in through the southeast corner. Steeling himself. Cedric braced for the worst: worried he wouldn’t find Sienna. After all, the cargo dock was huge.

He had seen Sienna get taken away, and now he was here. He couldn’t just stand around and do nothing. If there were any chance, he had to try. For that small hope might turn into a real chance for Sienna’s survival.
Cedric plunged into the dark, carefully weaving through the flames. Above, water poured down as firefighters fought the blaze. The flames had weakened a bit. In the thickening smoke. Cedric quickly found himself drenched.
“Sienna! Sienna!” He lifted the blanket now and then, calling her name as he searched around. “Sienna, are you there? Can y you can hear me, please respond
