“The doctor’s words are all false, aren’t they?” Yvette shouted, suddenly raising her hand and gripping Josiah’s collar hard. Her eyes intensity. “He’s nothing but a quack, isn’t he?”
flashed
Josiah pressed his lips together tightly, staying silent. Earlier that day, during Yvette’s examination, the doctor found problems with her lower limb sensation and reflexes. His scary words still hung in the air.
“Mr. Flynn. Ms. Young has injuries to her back muscles and nerves from the accident, her lower limbs may become immobile.”
“What does that mean?”
“Paraplegia.” That word drove Yvette into despair and sent Josiah into a deep pit of gu
guilt
“Speak Just say something After a long silence, Yvette’s emotions threatened to spill over, her eyes looked wild and bloodshot. “I can’t be fixed! Why am I even alive?” She let go of his collar and nearly fell to the floor.
“Let go of me! I said let go!”
Even though Josiah tried to help her, Yvette, in her uncontrollable rage, was much stronger than usual. “Call the doctor!” Josiah frowned as he looked at the nurse; he worried for Yvette’s safety if this kept going
The nurse rushed off and soon returned with the doctor. The doctor said, “Give her a tranquilizer!!
“Let go! Let go
Yvette fought violently. Only with the combined strength of Josiah and the nurse could they manage to hold her down. Once the tranquilizer started to work, she finally fell quiet
Her eyelids drooped, and she went limp in Josiah’s arms. He sighed deeply and gently laid her on the bed.
Outside the hospital room, Sienna sat on a bench, peeking through the half–open door and watching the scene inside. She felt surprised. Yvette was Indeed in a tough spot.
When the room went quiet, the doctor came out first, followed by Josiah. He approached Sienna, looking somewhat worn out. He leaned back in the chuir, his gaze down at the floor, and murmured, “Since that night.”
Sienna understood–the night they had both been kidnapped. She nodded. Even though she couldn’t stand Yvette, she felt a flicker of Yvette’s condition was truly sad.
But that feeling was short–lived–just a fleeting thought with no real depth. “Can I leave now! Sienna asked.
“Sienna Josial frowned and grabbed her hand. “Her condition is because of me. Can you understand that? I can’t just leave her.
Sienna looked at him for a moment before replying, “Does my feeling even matter to you!”
“Sienna “Josiah suddenly tightened his grip on her hand.
Esympathy:
It hurt, Sienna frowned, letting out a low, sarcastic laugh. “If I don’t understand, will you stop caring for hert Your question seems pretty pointless”
Looking at his hand on hers, she said, “Still holding on? After keeping me here for so long. I just want to go home and sleep,” Her voice was calm, her attitude cool and indifferent
Just as she said, she didn’t mind or want to start a fight. Josiah felt a knot in his stomach; he wanted to say something but couldn’t find the words. He larld her fund, standing up with her hand still in his. “I’ll take you home.”
“Are you really Traving?” Sienna asked, surprised. “What if she wakes up and can’t find you? Won’t she freak out?
Josial shot her a glan
a glance. “She just got a tranquilizer; she won’t wake up quickly
Before Sienna could respond, he led her outside, driving her back to Sunshine Neighborhood. The car stopped at the foot of her apartment bulling, and Josiah walked her to the entrance. “Get some rest; FIl be back Best thing tomorrow.”
Sienna looked up at him, surprised. “Aren’t you tired? Her voice showed she cared about his well–being. But then she added, “You must feel worn out. Yvelle needs your full attention right now?

Josiah frowned, his voice tight. “Are you resting me? Or looking for a reason to break up?” He stared at her, searching her face for any sign of displeasure, but found none.
You misunderstand” Sienna chuckled softly, shaking her head. I wouldn’t dream of breaking up with you; Joyce still depends on you. I’m just worried about you, that’s all.”
Josiah laughed incredulously, lifting his hand to cradle her chin, his fingers brushing against her soft skin. “I know you don’t have feelings for me there’s no need to keep reminding me.”
Leaning down, his warm breath brushed her face. “What kind of tricks are you playing? Do you think annoying me will make me let you go? Not happening: you should get some sleep.
When Josiah returned to the hospital from Sunshine Neighborhood, Howard had already received the news and was there. Howard glanced at his brother. “What are the next steps”
A heavy worry clouded Josiah’s face, given the situation, all he could do was his best. “It’s too late tonight, I’ve asked Zach to contact specialists from cach hospital in Jeiacrity. They will meet for a consultation tomorrow.”
Howard nodded. That was the only plan they had,
The next day, the clock on the wall struck eight–thirty Joyce woke up. “Josiah?”
Sienna rushed in, scooping up her daughter. “You’re awake!”
“Mommy…” Joyce, still sleepy, looked toward the door. “Where is Josiah?”
These past two days, she had gotten used to seeing Josiah first thing in the morning him dressing her, and sharing breakfast together.
“Josiah.” Sienna paused, smiling as she tapped her daughter’s little nose. “Josiah is busy today.”
“Josiah isn’t coming Joyce pouted, her expression downcast. “He broke his promise!“.
Seeing the disappointment on her daughter’s face, Sienna felt a sharp pang in her heart and grew upset with Josiah. She could forgive him for what he did to her, but he should never let Joyce down.
“Be good, Joyce. Sienna comforted her. “You’re wearing your Minnie Mouse dress today”
“Oh Joyce dropped her head, still unhappy. “Will Josiah come to have lunch with me?”
“Joyce, be good. Mommy’s here with you.”
Joyce understood he wouldn’t come, pouted, and then asked, “Will he come today?”
Sienna struggled to find an answer. After getting Joyce ready, Tara took her to wash up. Sienna turned to grab her phone and called Josiah The phone n
rang several times before he answered. “Where are you?” Sienna got straight to the point. “Will “Sienna” Josiah hesitated, stuck in a tough spot. “I was about to call you; I can’t come this morning. Please tell Joyce…”
“Will you be here soon?”
Expecting this reply, Sienna sneered. “You didn’t say that last night”
