Chapter 401
“Is it a serious matter?” Xenia glanced uneasily at Evan.
Along the journey, Cedric rehearsed everything he wanted to say.
Looking at them, he declared solemnly, “Mom, Dad, I love Sienna. I want to be with her.”
“What?” Xenia exclaimed. ‘I knew he was up to no good!‘ she fretted inwardly. “Cedric, why are you so stubborn-” she replied.
Frowning, Cedric interrupted firmly. “Mom, I did beed your advice. I’ve tried dating others but can’t force myself to love someone else.”
Xenia was at a loss for words. Trembling, she struggled to find a retort.
“Mom, I love Sienna. I hope you’ll accept this and stop hurting her. Otherwise, I’ll have to leave Jeiacrity.” Cedric said solemnly.
Xenia turned pale. “Cedric, are you forsaking your parents for an outsider?” she demanded.
“Forsaking you?” Brows furrowed, Cedric shook his head. “If you weren’t my Mom, I wouldn’t have forgiven what you did to Sienna. Did you know that bribing people to violate Sienna is a criminal offense?” he questioned.
Kenia’s heart skipped a beat as she stuttered, “A–Are you going to report me?”
“No, but it cannot happen again.” Cedric shook his head. “Mom, I’ll manage our business well and remain filial.”
He continued calmly, “But I hope you will respect my relationship choices. That’s all I can say. If you harm Sienna again, I’ll still fulfill my obligations as your son, but I won’t live with you anymore.”
Cedric inhaled deeply. “I’m an adult now and can support myself wherever I go.” It pained him to say these things to Xenia.
“Mom, I know you dislike Sienna. I’m not asking you to dote on her, I just hope you won’t hurt her.” Cedric stood up. “That’s all I wanted to say. Dad, Mom, good night.”
“What should we do? Did Sienna bewitch him?” Once Cedric left, Xenia massaged her aching temple.
Evan glanced at his wife. “What else can we do? He made himself clear, and you’ve tried your best to stop him, Just let him be. After all, he’s our only son,” he said helplessly.
“Let him be?” Xenia echoed reluctantly.
“Yes.” Evan nodded. “Maybe he’s stubborn because we’ve always opposed him. Once he gets his way, we can’t be certain he’ll remain committed to Sienna forever.” Evan chuckled. “Let’s just wait and see.”
“You’re right.” Xenia nodded in agreement. ‘Evan is right, can Cedric truly overlook Sienna’s past? Maybe he’s just saying things for the sake of it. They’re not actually together, she decided.
“Let’s do as you say,” Xelia agreed.
The next morning. Sienna woke up and noticed Cedric’s message.
Cedric: [I’m waiting for you downstairs.]
The text was sent at five o’clock, but it was now seven o’clock.
Immediately, Sienna headed to the window and saw Cedric’s Pagani was parked below.
‘He’s still here!‘ Sienna exclaimed inwardly. Quickly, she rushed downstairs.
Cedric exited the car with a bouquet. “You’re awake. This is for you,” he said with a broad beam.
“Thank you.” Sienna accepted the flowers. “Why are you here so early?”
“I couldn’t wait anymore.” Cedric rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, his eyes gleaming with joy. “I’m here to tell you that I talked to my parents last night. They won’t meddle with our affairs anymore.”
Sienna was shocked he managed to persuade Xenia. Yet, she didn’t share his enthusiasm.
“Cedric…” Sienna’s heart sank. Although she was reluctant to meet him, Sienna resolved to face the music. “After Fliraty and recent events, as far as I’m concerned, it’s over between us. I never considered getting back together.”
“I understand. But will you consider it now?” Cedric’s smile faded slightly, a hint of frustration crossing his features.

Chapter 401
Sienna was startled by his persistence. After consideration, she replied, “Joyce’s surgery is soon. My thoughts-”
“I know.” Before she could finish, Cedric nodded profusely. “Joyce’s surgery should be the top priority,” he said, his face filled with guilt.
He tilted his head to look at her. “There’s no need to rush things between us. I just wanted you to know my feelings, Cedric explained carefully.
Even Sienna was moved by Cedric’s persistence.
Nevertheless, she remained unwilling. “Cedric, there’s a saying, ‘times have changed. Do you understand what I mean?” she asked.
Sienna once considered being with Cedric, but that was then. Her circumstances and state of mind had changed drastically since. She shook her head. “Cedric, I can’t—”
Seeing that she was about to reject him, Cedric interjected anxiously, “Sienna, even if you don’t agree, don’t reject me outright.”
Though he understood her words, he asked, “Just because you’re unwilling now doesn’t mean your feelings won’t change, right?”
Sienna was speechless. ‘He’s not wrong,‘ she admitted. “But—” Sienna began.
“I’m going to fight for this opportunity,” Cedric said with a smile. “Even if I don’t get what I want in the end, at least I’ll have no regrets.”
“Cedric…” Sienna murmured. –
“Don’t feel pressured. I’m an adult and fully aware of my actions. Just follow your heart at your pace, Cedric reassured her.
After Cedric’s departure, Sienna went upstairs with the flowers, her mind jumbled with thoughts.
The thoughts lingered until Conner arrived to take Sienna and Joyce to the hospital.
Today, they visited the hospital for Joyce’s routine checkup and Conner’s health exam.
As the donor, he needed to prepare for the upcoming transplant. Unlike Joyce, he had more to do to maintain his physical and mental well–being in peak condition.
Since they both needed their blood drawn, they fasted the day before.
Knowing this, Sienna brought breakfast and, after their checkups, immediately handed them their portions. “Eat up.”
“Thank you, Sienna,” Conner said.
“Thanks, Mom,” Joyce echoed.
While they ate outside, Sienna waited for Lucas to produce and review their reports.
Hugging Joyce, Conner queried, “How is everything? I’m fine, right?”
Sienna nodded with a smile. “There are no problems.
“I thought so.” Conner kissed Joyce’s cheek. “Has the surgery date been set?” he asked.
“Yes, it’s the middle of next month.” Sienna nodded. “That’s less than a month and a half away,’ she thought.
