Chapter 4
When Andrew saw me, he walked over with an irritated look on his face. “Olivia, what are you still doing here? Get out of here now. If you mess with our deal with the Knight Group, you’ll regret it.”
He quickly scanned the café and noticed it was just me and the staff. He turned to Freddy and asked, “Mr. Mills, didn’t you say the project lead was here? Why isn’t she around?”
Freddy stepped forward, gently pushing Andrew aside with a courteous smile directed at me. “Ms. Russell, what brings you here? Why haven’t you gone inside?”
I gave Andrew a quick glance and raised an eyebrow. “I went in, but I was kicked out. They said they were worried I might mess up their deal with the Knight Group.”
Freddy immediately understood what had happened, his expression darkening as he looked at Andrew. “Ms. Russell messes up the deal? Let me be clear—the Knight Group project is entirely in her hands. If she’s not involved, there’s no deal happening.”
Andrew and Kate stared at me, stunned. “Olivia, you’re the project lead for Knight Group? How could that be? There’s some kind of mistake. Mr. Mills, you’ve got it wrong. She just got fired from
our company. How could someone like her be a part of the Knight Group?”

Even after hearing this, Andrew and Kate still couldn’t believe that I was connected to the Knight Group.
Freddy, clearly frustrated, rolled his eyes. “Let me introduce you properly. This is Ms. Russell, our company’s vice president. She holds 10% of the company and was personally introduced by Mr. Knight to all the shareholders. Besides Mr. Knight, she’s the one with the most shares in the company. This project? It was handed to her by Mr. Knight himself.”
It took a moment for Andrew and Kate to process what Freddy had said.
Once they did, Andrew eagerly grabbed my arm. “Olivia, why didn’t you tell me? This was all a misunderstanding. I thought you were sneaking into the Knight Group, and I was worried you’d do something reckless. That’s why I had you kicked out.”
He quickly pulled out a contract and a pen and handed them to me. “But now that you’re the project lead, we can sign the deal right away.”
I took a quick glance at the contract, smiled slightly, and then threw it right back at him. “Knight Group is investing 50 million dollars, but only taking 30% of the profits? Andrew, you really think you can take that much without it coming back to bite you? With profits in the billions, that’s a huge ask.”
I turned to Freddy and, standing up, said firmly, “Remove them from the deal. Anyone who thinks the Knight Group is a joke doesn’t deserve to work with us.”

Andrew’s face instantly turned desperate. “Olivia, you can’t do this. You don’t understand how important this deal is for us.”
I looked at him coolly and responded, “How important it is to your company doesn’t concern me. Your proposal has so many flaws, and you’re trying to contribute the least while taking the most. Why should I work with you?”
Andrew was left speechless, unable to respond.
Kate, however, looked upset. “Olivia, you can’t let personal grudges get in the way of business. You know how much Andrew has invested in this company since college. This project is the last thing he needs to go public. Besides, you were the one who negotiated the deal in the first place. Why can’t it work now?”
