Kate gave me a pointed look. “Olivia, don’t tell me you’re holding a grudge over the past and taking it out on our company. If that’s what’s happening, I’ll apologize, even if it means resigning. Please, don’t destroy everything we’ve worked for this company is the result of so many people’s efforts.”
Seeing Kate upset, Andrew immediately became defensive. “Olivia, enough! Stop making a scene. Just sign the contract, and you
can come back to the company. You’ll still be in charge of future projects.”
I glanced at Freddy, clearly frustrated. “Mr. Mills, I don’t want to see them in the Knight Group anymore. I also don’t want any more business dealings with them. The Knight Group will no longer collaborate with them.”
As soon as I finished speaking, Andrew snapped, “Olivia, what gives you the right to do this? You’re just a project lead—what makes you think you can blacklist our company from working with Knight Group?”
I didn’t want to waste any more time arguing with them, so I turned and walked away, leaving everything to Freddy to handle.
The next morning, I found Andrew waiting for me at my apartment door, holding a cheap bouquet of plastic flowers. “Olivia, I overreacted yesterday. It was a rash decision, made

I barely glanced at him. “Move out of my way. I need to get to work.”

But Andrew blocked my path again. “Olivia, is it because of Kate? I’ve always seen her as a little sister. You’ve been with me through everything in the company. You’ve sacrificed so much, and we’re so close to going public. Can you really bear to see all our hard work go to waste?”
I let out a small laugh. So Andrew finally realized how much I had sacrificed for his company. But he had never appreciated it or given me what I deserved–he was even trying to hand over my credit to Kate.
Thinking I was relenting, Andrew grabbed my hand. “Olivia, I promise. Once the company goes public, I’ll marry you. You’ll be the boss of the company. How does that sound?”
His patronizing tone pushed me over the edge. I yanked my hand away. “Andrew, just so you know, we’re done. You’ve been so kind to your ‘little sister‘, so I’m sure you two are a perfect match. Don’t come around messing up other people’s lives.”
Andrew’s face immediately darkened. “Olivia, don’t be ridiculous. Weren’t you begging me to marry you before? You’ve been trying to force my hand by ruining my company, haven’t you? Now that I’ve agreed, what more do you want?”
His arrogance was infuriating. I shook my head. “Andrew, do you not have a mirror at home? Take a look at yourself. What

makes you think you can just marry me because you said so? We’re finished, and you have no say in my life anymore. If you keep bothering me, I’ll call the cops.”
When I started pulling out my phone, Andrew finally realized I wasn’t joking. He shot me a cold look. “Olivia, are you sure about this? If you walk away now, even if you come crawling back later, I won’t take you back.”
I rolled my eyes. “Don’t worry, even if every other man in the world disappeared, I wouldn’t go back to you.“.
His pride wounded, Andrew stormed off.
I went to the Knight Group office, found a more suitable partner, and finalized the deal with them. Afterward, I sat back and relaxed in my office.
I’d known Andrew back in college. At that time, he was the star -the kind of guy everyone admired. I’d started liking him after an incident on the basketball court when someone accidentally bumped into me, and I collapsed from low blood sugar.
