Alpha Mate Chapter 26

Chapter 26

ASHER’S POV

We made our way to the dungeon, the rogues tied up and struggling against their restraints the entire way. I could see the fire in their eyes as they tried to resist and put up a fight, but their efforts were fruitless. With his years of combat experience, Carden overpowered one of them when he tried to make a rum for it, causing a deep cut on his arm in the process

We finally arrived at the dungeon, and the sight of the cells seemed to fill them with dread. They knew what awaited them there. As we got closer. the rogues began to struggle more violently, but the restraints held fast, cutting into their skin. With a loud clang, we unlocked one of the cells and shoved them inside

Their screams echoed through the dungeon as they cursed and swore, but I paid them no heed. They were criminals, and they deserved nothing less than the fate that awaited them. I ordered the guards to keep a close watch on them and left the dungeon, feeling a sense of satisfaction knowing that they would be punished for their crimes

For a moment, there was silence, and I wondered if they had given up their resistance. But suddenly, there was a loud thud, and the sound of fists pounding against the metal bars

I leaned in doser to the cell, my eyes adjusting to the darkness. I could just make out the outlines of the men, their eyes gleaming with a fierce determination. They were trying to break free, but the restraints held them fast, their struggles only causing the cuffs to dig deeper into their skin. I rould hear the muffled grunts and curses as they continued to fight against their bond’s, but it was clear that they were no match for us. The men were locked up, and we made our way out of the dungeon, leaving the rogues to their fate

As soon as Caden left, I quickly approached the guard 1 had sent to find out what the rogues had stolen. He was walking fast, but I easily caught up to him Report, what did you find out!I demanded

The guard looked slightly taken aback, but quickly regained his composure. Alpha, they stole several crates of wolfsbane, we noticed a few other things were meddled with but we can’t provide the exact amount. But judging from everything, they were in for the wolfsbane. We don’t know how many yet, but we’re working on it.”

BstandsI yelled in annoyance but at the same time wondering how these men had gained access into the Pack. Well if they were sent by one of my guests then they were going to have to pay the price

I nodded thoughtfully, Very well. Keep me updated on any further developments. With that, I dismissed him and continued to follow him at a distance. I knew it was risky to leave the Soiree unguarded, but I couldn’t let the rogues get away with their theft

As I walked, my mind was racing with all sorts of scenarios that could unfold. What if they had more accomplices waiting to ambush us! What if they managed to evade our guards and escape into the city! The thought of the wolfsbane falling into the wrong hands made me shudder

Suddenly, the guard turned into a side alley, and I quickly followed sun, staying out of sight. As I crept closer, I could hear muffled voices coming from a building at the end of the alley. With my heart pounding, I carefully made my way towards the door, pressing my ear against it to listen in on the conversation. My wolf senses contined to gens sharper as I crept closer and closer

they’ll never find us here, one of the voices said. Those fools at the Soiree won’t even know what hit them.”

I gritted my teeth in anger, “I won’t let them get away with this, I thought to myself. It was time to take action. I reached for the door handle, ready to burst in and apprehend the rogues when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my head

Everything went blark

Well, for a moment

The smell of wolfsbane hits me like a punch in the face, and I immediately recognize the danger. My wolf whimpers in pain for a moment before I turn around to face two men standing behind me, each of them holding a large pouch filled with the deadly poison. My guard, who had been walking beside me, stops and asks if everything is okay, but I can barely hear him over the pounding of my heart

The punger smell of the wolfsbane fills my nostrils, and I fight the urge to gag. It’s the greatest poison known to wolves, capable of killing even the strongest and agost powerful of our kind. The fact that these men are carrying it is a clear indication that they mean me barın

1 take a step back, assessing the situation. The two men are both taller than me, with broad shoulders and thick, muscular arms. They’re dressed in dark clothing that seems to blend in with the shadows, making them even more intimidating. I can see the glint of metal beneath their jackets, and I know that they’re atued I have no weapons, and no backup. It’s just me and my guard against these two unknown assailants

As the last of the two men crumpled to the ground, I panted heavily, my wolf still howling in my head. I could feel the blood pumping through my veins as the adrenaline coursed through my body. Caden stood beside me, his wolf pacing restlessly back and forth, the scent of blood making him

I can feel the rage boiling inside me as I face the dangerous men with the deadly Wolfbane. But before I could even make a move, a snarl sounds

from behind, and Caden’s wolf jumps at them with lightning speed. The men yell in pain as Caden tears one of them to pieces, while the other one tries to use his blade to kill Caden

Without thinking, I shift quickly, and my wolf jumps on the man, tearing him to pieces instantly. I can feel the power of my wolf surging through me as I attack the enemy with every ounce of strength in my body. The man tries to fight back, but I am too powerful for him, and he goes down in a heap

As I shift back to my human form. I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins. I turn to Caden and give him a nod of gratitude. Thanks

man. That was close”

Caden just grunts in response, his wolf still snarling as he stands over the men’s remains. They deserved it,” he growls

I nod in agreement. Yeah, they did. But we need to find out who sent them and why.”

We quickly search through the men’s belongings, but we find nothing that could give us any answers. I turn to my guard who is still standing behind me, watching the scene with a mixture of horror and awe. Did you see anyone else around here?I ask him

He shakes his head. No, Alpha Just those two men.”

I sigh, feeling frustrated. “We need to find out who’s behind this. They could be planning something big, and we need to stop them before it’s too Late

Caden nods, his wolf still growling I’ll start investigating, Alpha. We’ll find out who’s responsible for this”

I nod in agreement, my mind already racing with possibilities. Good. I need to return to the ceremony right now because it seems they came in their number. We need to track down every single one of them and kill them. Run down the alleyway with some guards quickly, you search the first room and let me know if you find anything suspicious.”

Caden shook his head in response, staring far off into the distance

Are you hurt?” I asked him, my voice slightly shaky with the aftermath of the fight

No, I’m fine, Caden replied, his eyes scanning the area for any other potential threats. But what the hell were they doing with Wolfsbane?”

I don’t know,I said, my mind racing as I tried to piece together what had just happened. But we need to find out. It’s not safe to have that kind of

Caden nodded in agreement, his eyes still sharp as he scanned the area. We should probably move these bodies somewhere more discreet. We don’t want anyone stumbling upon them.”

I could hear the sounds of approaching footsteps. It was only a matter of moments before a group of my guards appeared on the scene. I let out a sigh of relief, knowing that things were going to get better now, and easier as well

Caden immediately gestured the men towards him and they followed immediately, each of them walking briskly on their heels
