Chapter 49
ASHERS POV
I stand by the window, garing out at the world beyond, lost in thought about Raya. Her
er scent still lingered in my room, and I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was not quite right. The electric shock that had coursed through me when I first saw her in my bed was still with me, and I couldn’t explain it
I wonder what was happening to me. Was I becoming weak? I had always prided myself on my ability to control my emotions, but Raya was different. She had stirred something within me, something I couldn’t put my finger on
As I stood there, lost in thought. I was interrupted by a knock on my door. I turned to face the entrance, wondering who it could be. I didn’t expect anyone at this time of the night
“Who is it?” I asked, trying to keep my voice strady.
“It’s me, Rabiot,” came a voice from outside. It was one of my guards,
“What do you want?” I asked, still standing by the window.
“I have a message from the council,” he replied, his voice slightly muffled.
“Come in,” I said, turning away from the window to face the door.
The guard stepped in, his eyes flickering over my room before settling on me. He looked slightly nervous, and I wondered what the council could want at this time of the night
“What is it” I asked, trying to hide my irritation.
“The council has received a message from the neighboring packs, he began, his voice shaking slightly. “There have been reports of rogue activity in the area, and they are requesting our assistance.
I frowned at this. Rogue activity! This was not something we could ignore. The rogues were a constant threat, and we had to be vigilant at all times
“Send word to the council that we will not assist until we are done with our problems,” I said, my mind already racing with plans.
The guard nodded and turned to leave. As he walked out, I found myself thinking about Raya again. I wondered where she was, what she was doing The thought of her brought a smile to my lips, and I shook my head, trying to clear my mind.
ack to the window, the scent of her still lingered in my room, a constant reminder of the way the had made me feel
But even as I turned back to
I quickly peeled off my clothes and strode into the bathroom. I turned on the faucet and washed the blood from my chest, arms, and face. As the water washed over me, I felt a sense of relief. The cold water felt good against my skin, and it seemed to calm me down. Once I was done. I wrapped a towel around my waist and headed towards my closet.
As I was putting on a fresh shirt, I realized that I was still thinking about Raya. I tried to push her out of my mind, but she seemed to have a hold on me that I couldn’t shake. The electricity that had coursed through me when she had touched me was still there, and it was making it hard for me to focus on anything else.
I took a deep breath and walked out of my bedroom, heading towards the dining room. I needed to eat something, and I hoped that it would help me clear my head. As I entered the dining room, I saw that one of my guards was already there, waiting for me.
“Good evening, my lord,” he said, bowing his head. We have prepared your favorite, sir. Steak and potatoes, with a side of green beans and-”
“Shut up! And get out.” I said, taking a seat at the table. The guard quickly left, surely mortalised by my outburst. I could hear my maids giggle in the comer after I had said said to the guard.
The maid brought over a plate of food. The guard brought over a plate of food, and I dug in, savoring the flavors. The food was delicious, and it helped to distract me from my thoughts about Raya. But as I finished my meal, I couldn’t help but think about her again.
I stood up from the table and walked towards the window, gazing out at the moonlit city, the thought of Raya still coming into my mind.
I made a mental note of having her come over to eat something but els implications were staring at me tight and the face. It was very dangerous. But I commanded the guard anyway to go and fetch her immediately.
As the guard rushed out of the room, I couldn’t help but wonder why I was feeling this way about Raya. I
Raya. I have never felt such an attraction towards anyone, especially not a rogue. It was dangerous, and it made me feel weak. I knew I had to be careful, but I couldn’t help but want her around me.
When the guard returned with Raya, she looked afraid, and her eyes were downcast. I couldn’t help but feel guilty for scaring her earlier. I asked

her to sit and eat something, and the maids quickly rushed out of the room to get her some food,
I watched as she ate, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment that she was finally eating something.
It had been days since she had anything to eat. She wouldn’t eat bit I wasn’t concerned since I was busy with pack troubles, and it made me wonder how she had managed to survive on her own for so long.
As she ate, I couldn’t help but study her. Her eyes were downcast, and she looked so fragile, yet so strong. I couldn’t help but feel drawn to her. It was as if there was a magnetic force that was pulling us together.
After she finished eating, I asked her to come with me. I needed to talk to her, and I couldn’t wait any longer. We walked towards the balcony, and I couldn’t help but notice the way her scent lingered around me. It was intoxicating, and I knew I had to be careful.
Caden and some of the guards were dragging out the rogues to be tortured, I stood by the windowside, watching them closely. I felt Raya’s presence beside me, and I turned to her. “What did you want to tell me earlier?” I ask her, but before she can answer, a loud yell echoes through the castle.
“What the hell was that?” I ask, looking towards the dungeon Without waiting for an answer, I rushed out of the room, with Raya following closely behind.
As we approached the dungeon, I can hear the screams and shouts of the prisoners. The guards are rushing in and out of the dungeon, trying to control the situation.
“What the hell is going on?” I asked one of the guards
