Alpha Mate Chapter 52

Chapter 52

ASHER’S PON

I woke up early the next morning, feeling restless and out of sorts. The events of the previous night were still weighing heavily on my mind, and I needed to clear my head. Lacingup my running shoes, I headed out into the cool morning air, setting a brisk pace as I tried to put Raya out of my

While running, my thoughts gradually began to quiet, and I fell into a rhythm that felt almost meditative. My body moved effortlessly, my breathing steady and even. The world around me fell away, and I was left with nothing but the sound of my own footsteps and the steady beat of my heart

By the time I was done running and had returned to the house. It felt almost like myself again. My muscles were loose and warm, and my mind felt clear and focused. I headed to my bathroom to shower and shave, hoping to start the day fresh and new

But while standing at the sink, the razor in my hand, I couldn’t help but think of Raya again. My mind drifted back to the previous night, to the horror and disque on her face as I punished the prisoner. I winced as the razor nicked my skin, distracted by the memories that were still haunting

I quickly need off the razor and washed my face, hoping to shake off the memories and focus on the present. But as I reached for my towell. I felt a sharp pain in my hand. Looking down. I uw that I had sliced open my palm on a loose piece of metal on the edge of the sink

The pain was intense, and I cursed under my breath as blood welled up from the wound. I quickly washed off the cut and wrapped a towel around my hand, feeling my anger growing with each passing moment. This was not how I had wanted to start my day

As I stormed out of the bathroom, my wounds healed almost immediately, leaving no trace of the injury behind. But the anger still burned within me, furled by the memories of the previous night and the frustration of the moming’s mishap. I needed to find a way to get Raya out of my head

and for all before the drove me completely insane

I mindlinked Caden instructing him to come to the Packhouse immediately. I needed to talk to him about an important matter, something that needed to be dealt with as soon as possible. I waited, pacing back and forth in my office until I heard a knock at the door. Caden had arrived, almost immediately, despite having been patrolling the boundary all night

What’s up, Asher.Caden asked, as he walked into the room

I have a job for you.I said, trying to keep my voice even

Caden raised an eyebrow. What kind of job!”

I hesitated for a moment, trying to gather my thoughts. This was not going to be an easy conversation

“I can’t have Kaya in my Pack, I finally said. I need you to find her a safe place to stay, somewhere she’ll be protected from other packs and the

Caden’s face contorted with confusion. What are you talking about? Raya is your mate, Asher. You can’t just kick her out of the Pack”

I know that,I said, my voice low. But I can’t have her here. It’s too dangerous. There are too many risks

Caden crossed his arms over his chest. What kind of risks?”

I shook my head. I can’t go into detail. But I need you to find a safe place for her, somewhere she’ll be protected until I can figure out a solution.”

Caden looked at me skeptically. And what about you! What are you going to do?”

I shrugged. Im going to focus on the Pack. I have a lot of work to do. And besides, I can’t be distracted by by her

Caden’s eyes narrowed

The main thing I want yo

want you to do is to spike her drink with something and take her away. Not forcefully”

I stood there, watching as Caden tried to leave. I need you to do this for me, Caden,I said, my voice barely above a whisper

Caden turned around, his eyes filled with anger. I can’t do that, Asher,he replied vehemently. You should face her yourself if you want to. And she’s your mate, despite the fart fact I don’t want her around, have you considered how long you have waited for this.”

I argued. I can’t have her in this pack. It’s too dangerous for her

and for us

Caden shook his head. That’s not a good enough reason to kick her out,” he said. You’re just afraid of your own feelings”

That’s not true,” I protested Tran’t have het bere, Caden

Since when

Since the bloody humans killed my parents!”

Caden’s eyes softened. I understand that, Asher,” he said. But kicking her out isn’t the answer. We can find a way to keep her safe here because she will die if you attempt that. The werewolves will get her.”

I shook my head. I can take that chance,I replied. I need you to do this for me, Caden. Please,”

Caden’s eyes narrowed. I can’t believe you’re even asking me to do something like this,” he said. What would the rest of the pack think if they found out!”

“They won’t find out,I replied. You’re the only one who needs to know.”

Caden sighed. I can’t do it. Asher,” he said. “I won’t betray the pack like that.”

I felt

my anger rising. You’re supposed to be my beta,” I said. You’re supposed to do what I ask

Gaden shook his head. Til follow you when you’re right, Asher,he said. But I won’t follow you when you’re wrong”

1 felt a surge of anger in my chest. Fine, I said, clenching my fists. If you won’t do it, I’ll find someone who will

Caden’s eyes widened. You can’t be serious,he said

“I am,I replied. I need Raya out of this pack. And I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.”

Caden shook his head, a look of disgust on his face. I can’t believe you’re willing to go this far,he said. I thought I knew you better than this, Asher

I felt a pang of guilt in my chest. Caden was right. I was willing to do whatever it took to get Raya out of this pack. But was it worth losing her over

As Caden stormed out of the room, I slumped into a nearby chair, feeling defeated, What had I become? Was I really willing to sacrifice everything for my own selfish desires

I knew I had to find a way to make things right with Caden. But for now, I needed to clear my head. I stood up, mindlinking the rest of the pack to let them know that I would be gone for a while
