Hearing the name, Lydia was enraged

She helped Aurora up and stormed into Sebastian’s office

Isabelle, don’t push it! Aurora didn’t offend you. Why are you making her kneel? She’s my brother’s secretary; it has nothing to do with you. Why are you acting like the CEO’s wife?”

Sebastian was inside

Seeing Aurora’s disheveled state, he frowned, about to ask what happened when Isabelle threw herself into his arms

Sebastian, I didn’t! I have no quarrel with Aurora. Why would I make her kneel? I don’t know what I did to offend her, she’s slandering me”

Hearing Isabelle’s lies, Lydia was furious and slapped her

You’re lying, Aurora never lies!”

Isabelle, for the first time in her life, was so humiliated that she burst into tears

Sebastian, your secretary slandered me, and now even your sister is bullying me. Fine, we’re over.”

Hearing this, Sebastian panicked, then stood coldly, slapping Lydia

Enough! Lydia, when will you stop? Isabelle is your sisterinlaw!”

Then, he coldly looked at Aurora

Why are you slandering Isabelle? If this happens again, you’re fired!”

Lydia covered her face, shocked

Aurora regretted involving her and quickly pulled her away

Lydia was still fuming, wanting to go back and argue, but Aurora had no choice but to reveal that she had already resigned and planned to leave Washington, D.C.

She shook her head, choked back tears, and told her

Hearing she was leaving, Lydia was heartbroken, neglecting to cause further trouble, hugging her and crying, begging her not to go

Aurora just patted her back, eyes red,Lydia, all good things must come to an end.”

Lydia cried even harder

On their last day in Washington, D.C., the girls had a meal together, filled with unspoken sadness

That night, Lydia stayed with her in the small apartment

Aurora repeatedly assured her that even after she returned home, they would contact

each other daily

She would tell Lydia immediately if she found a suitable dating prospect

The two chatted all night, discussing the past, present, and future

At dawn, Lydia personally took Aurora to the airport

As they said their goodbyes, Sebastian messaged, asking where Lydia

was

Aurora stopped her

Lydia still resented last night’s events. She was about to call and scold him, but Forget it, Lydia. Let the past be the past. Don’t clash with Isabelle anymore; your brother really loves her. She’ll be your sisterinlaw, get along.”

Lydia’s eyes reddened again

It was soon time to board

Aurora waved goodbye to Lydia and walked to the gate

Before boarding, she sent Sebastian a final message

Eight years of secret love, four years of foolishness it ends here. Mr. Hawthorne, I’m no longer your secretary, nor am I in love with you. We go our separate ways now. There’s no need for us to meet again.”

After sending it, ignoring his reply, she blocked all his number

Then, she boarded the plane without looking back
