Chapter 11
The riverside villa was all lit up.
Antonio in the car looked terrible. Rufus next to him just wanted to get him back home as fast as possible. If he stayed any longer with Antonio, he felt like he might freeze solid.
Megan had been waiting at the door for a long time, dressed in a strange shade of pink. Antonio frowned and asked her, kind of annoyed, “Megan, what’s with the outfit?”
Upon seeing Antonio, Megan felt like she had finally been rescued. She had been so stressed ever since she got Zelma’s order earlier that afternoon.
“Ms. Stanton said today was her birthday and told us to dress cheerfully. I’m not young anymore, and this pink dress is the only one that fits what she wants.”
Antonio’s face was gloomy when he saw Megan’s shaking hands. “How long have you been waiting here?”
“About two or three hours, I think. Ms. Stanton asked me to wait for you to come back ahead of time.”
“What on earth is Zelma doing, acting all high and mighty just because she’s my fiancée?!” Antonio thought to himself.
He told Rufus to take Megan to see a doctor. Standing out in the cold for so long, Megan was bound to catch a cold.
When Antonio walked into the villa, he felt a rush of warmth. The whole place was decked out like a birthday celebration.

There was a motley crew inside, throwing a party. Antonio,
looking pissed off, dragged Zelma to the side to ask her what was going on.
“Who said you could do this? Fix everything and get rid of those people, right now.”
Zelma acted all sad and grabbed Antonio’s hand. “Antonio, we’re getting married soon. So what if I’m at my own house? Today is my birthday, and they wanted to throw me a party. Do you want them to laugh at me?”
She kept talking about how they were getting married. Antonio was so angry that the veins on his forehead were showing. He cursed under his breath, “Zelma, get them out of here, or you’ll see what happens.”
After saying that, Antonio stormed upstairs to his study on the second floor.
He thought, “How could Zelma mess up the villa like this? Grace and I carefully decorated it together. Who does Zelma think she is?”
Zelma’s friends watched as Antonio went upstairs in silence, and they started asking, “Zelma, looks like your fiancé doesn’t like us. He just left without saying anything.”
Zelma had invited her friends to show off, but she didn’t expect Antonio to be so rude to her. She had to force a smile and say, “No, it’s not that. Antonio likes things quiet. Maybe we’re being a bit too loud. He’s usually very nice to me. Look at this ring. He went through a lot to get it for me.”
The guests stayed for a while, had some cake, and then left. After all, the owner of the villa didn’t want them there.

After Zelma saw the last friend off, she knocked on the door of Antonio’s study.
“Antonio, you must be tired after such a long day. I’ve heated up some milk for you.”
Antonio was gazing at Grace’s portrait on the wall. Hearing Zelma’s loud voice outside, he felt more annoyed.
Whenever he felt frustrated, he would come to this room to calm down. Only Grace could make him feel a little bit of
peace.
Antonio walked out with a cold look on his face and quickly closed the study door behind him.
In the whole villa, this study was the most special place. Even Megan wasn’t allowed to come near it.
Zelma held back her curiosity and looked at Antonio with gentle eyes as she held out the milk. When he picked her to be his fiancée, he must have had some feelings for her, right?
“Antonio, I won’t bring my friends here again. Please don’t be angry, okay?” Zelma begged in the softest voice she could
muster.
Antonio coldly glanced at the milk and then went back to his bedroom. Their first time together was because Zelma had lured him in.
