Chapter 5
As the plane touched the ground, my phone screen lit up with at notification, showing that Antonio was home.
In the surveillance footage, Antonio was holding Luca, who was asleep. He carefully carried him to the room that I prepared meticulously for my
son.
Then, he began looking for me.
“Honey, today is our anniversary. Later, the three of us will go out for dinner.”
His voice was filled with expectations and I was a bit stunned.
Each year, no matter how busy Antonio was, on our anniversary, he would spend some time with me.
At the time, I thought it was because he loved me. But now, I realized that it was all a compromise for another woman.
Suddenly, Antonio’s gaze was drawn to the document on the coffee table.
Did he finally notice it?
As he realized it was a divorce agreement, his body shuddered.
He pulled the helper over, who was cleaning the floor, and asked, “Where’s Grace?”
“Mrs. Kaufman went out yesterday and didn’t return home.”
After Antonio heard that, his face turned pale.

At this time, a familiar figure showed up in the footage.
How ironic! He just said we would go out for dinner for our anniversary, but he also took Noemi home.
She noticed the change in Antonio’s expression and quickly stepped forward. After knowing what happened, she clicked her tongue in disdain.
“What’s the matter with Grace? She’s a mom now, yet she’s threatening
you with a divorce.”
After he heard what she said, he came to his senses.
“Right. She must be mad at me because I left her alone for a few days. She is just throwing a tantrum.”
Then, he was about to tear up the divorce agreement. However, Noemi stopped him.
“Antonio, she takes you for granted. Since she wants a divorce, why don’t you do as she wants? Then, you can announce to the world that we are getting engaged. I’m sure she’ll regret it and beg for your forgiveness.”
“I can’t do that. It’ll be unfair to you.”
Antonio’s eyes lit up at Noemi’s suggestion, but then he thought of something and held her hand gently.
“It’s nothing. As long as you are happy, everything I do is worth it.”
After saying so, Noemi had an expression on her face as if saying, “Everything I do, I do it for you.”
Then, Antonio felt sorrier for her. He pulled her into his arms and they started kissing each other.

I couldn’t put up with that anymore, so I turned off the camera.
The plane landed at Mallowwick, a famous city known for its piano heritage. Before I married Antonio, I was a gifted pianist.
Playing the piano often meant appearing in the public eye. To make Antonio’s family accept me, I gave up my career.
Now that I had decided to leave, I would pick up what I had left behind.
Previously, I had contacted a renowned piano ensemble here. With a friend’s recommendation, I was in.
This trip was not only about escaping a broken marriage, but more importantly, it was to join a nationwide contest.
I spoke with the person in charge. He told me that I needed to join a closed training program before the contest which would last for a year.
I agreed. There was still half a month before the training started, so I decided to travel around a bit.
