Chapter 7
We gave each other our numbers before I boarded the plane back to Mallowwick, the city of piano.
I thought I’d never hear from Antonio again for the rest of my life, but somehow the live stream of his engagement with Neomi popped up on my phone.
Before I knew it, I’d already clicked in.
Neomi was wearing a customized wedding gown from of luxury brand, which was insanely difficult to order.
He really did love her. The set was a hundred times better than the one we held our wedding.
Back then, I was the one who prepared everything, from the ceremony to the hotel. He didn’t bother being a part of it.
But looking at this, I knew instantly it was his style.
Although I decided to move on, I still felt sad seeing how he treated her differently.
Standing together facing the guests, Neomi seemed bashful, while Antonio looked anxious, peeping at the gate from time to time, as if he was waiting for something.
Just as the MC’s about to kick off the ceremony, Antonio snatched his microphone.
“There will be no engagement between Neomi and me today. Please enjoy the food and drink like a normal banquet.”
11.00
Hearing this, Neomi’s face turned pale, and she could barely stand up. It was Sonia who held her up.
“Stop it! You can’t just walk away from your engagement!” Sonia lashed out at Antonio while he remained sullen.
“The ceremony is fake. I won’t marry Neomi. My wife will only be Grace,” replied Antonio.
Neomi cried at the sound of that while holding Luca.
Normally, Antonio wouldn’t let anything happen to her, but now he’s deadly indifferent.
I can tell from his eyes he’s disgusted by her.
And then, his phone rang. He was delighted to get it but grew grimmer after checking it.
Looks like my gift for him has arrived.
Back when I decided to join the training, I schedule sent him a bunch of videos.
They must be unpacked and played on a computer instead of a phone.
Unfortunately, the assistant didn’t bring an extra computer. The only one was connected to the big screen of the venue.
I was curious to see if he would use the only computer out of desperation.
After two seconds of silence, Antonio yelled at his assistant, “Go unpack these videos! Be quick!”
His howl terrified Luca, the flower boy, who burst into tears.
Neomi comforted him and gave,
a resentful look, but dared not to
say a word.
The package I sent included multiple clips of intimate moments between Neomi and Antonio with their conversations.
Antonio’s face turned blue while watching it, and he couldn’t stop shaking.
“Grace…Grace knew it all,” muttered Antonio.
The guests and viewers online went crazy.
“I was just saying what a perfect couple they are. Yet she turned out to be a side chick!”
“My god, poor Ms. Kaufman.”
“They should walk hand in hand straight to hell!”
Antonio shoved Neomi, with a fierce look on his face.
“It’s all your fault that Grace left me!”
Luca started wailing for mom and dad.
The guests knew instantly that Luca was Neomi and Antonio’s kid.
But no one dared to point that out considering how powerful the Kaufman Group was.
Seeing that the situation was getting out of control, Sonia slapped Antonio.
“You’re still thinking of that woman? You’re a loser who can’t even protect your own kid.”
Sonia addressed the guests explaining that Antonio and I have long been
Chaper!
divorced, and declared Neomi as her daughter–in–law.
Antonio said nothing and walked straight out of the venue, leaving the guests there.
The live stream was then cut off, and shortly after the Kaufman Group posted a statement, clarifying that their relationship came after our divorce.
But the people online didn’t buy it, flooding the comment section with mean words.
I was not at all interested. I had everything handled and then committed myself to the one–year secret training.
