Lyra nodded. “I wish for our family’s happiness.”
I hesitated, unsure what to say.
“What’s your wish, Tricia?” Lyra asked. Flashing me a confused look
I forced a smile. “I wish for… everyone’s happiness.”
Lyra’s eyes sparkled. “That’s beautiful!”
ANN’s perfect.”
But my heart ached. My wish was a lie.
I wished to escape, to flee this pack and its secrets.
We walked down the street. Our faces were full of smiles showing we all enjoyed our time in the market.
Suddenly, a group of shadowy figures surrounded us.
We halted in our steps immediately. Fear written all over their faces
Even if we want to escape there is no way we can do that because they also give is no chance of escaping.
“Who are you people?” I asked, my voice trembled slightly.
“You will soon pet to know that.” One of them replied. A coldchackle escaped his lips.
Before we could react, they grabbed us, covering our mouths,
We were dragged away, helpless and silent. The last thing I saw was the fading lanterns.
I struggled against my captors, but they held me tight. Lyra and Ava’s muffled screams echoed through the darkness.
We were thrown into a dimly lit wagon, its contains drawn.
The ropes bound our wrists and anides.
Lyra’s terrified eyes met mine. “Ava, Tricia, don’t worry,” Lyra whispernd. I know she was trying to assure me that we would be fine but I did not fail to see the doubt in her eyes
She is not me
Ava nodded, tears streaming down her face.
I forced a reassuring smile
But inside, 1 panicked
Who were these rogues? What did they want?
The vragen lurched forward, racing through the night.
Lyra’s voice trembled. “Where are they taking us?
Ava’s eyes locked onto mine
1 mouthed silently: “I’ll protect you‘
The wagon’s pace quickened
My mind racing, I vowed to escape. For Lyra and Ava’s sake. For my own freedom
The wagon’s wheels creaked and groaned as it navigated the rough terrain.
Lura’s voice trembled: “What do they want with us?”
Arz’s eyes trimmed with tears.
I remained silent, my mind racing
The wagon halted, and the curtains opened. A tall, menacing figure loumed over us
“Welcome, Princess
he sneered, his gaze on Lyra.
“You’re worth a fortune.“”
Lyra’s face paled. Ava whimpered. I tensed, helpless..
The rogue leader signaled, and his men lifted us out.
We were dragged into a dilapidated mansion. The interior reeked of decay. Lyra struggled, but her bonds held
Ava’s pleas were muffled by her
I remained still, assessing our raptors.
The leader neered. “No escape, Princess.”
The leader gestured to a hooded figure waiting in the shadows
“Meet our buyer,” he said, liis voice dripping with males
The figure stepped forward, revealing a shocking face.
“Lord Victor,” Lyra whispered, horrified.
Ava’s eyes widened in terror
My heart sank. Though I did not know who the man called Lord Victor was but sure he is a dangerous person.
This thing will not end well. I could feel beads of sweetness forming on toy forehead but I tried my best to remain calm
Lord Victor’s cold gaze swept over UK.
“Excellent condition,” he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.
He signaled, and his men dragged us deeper into the mansion
Every step took us farther from hope.
We were trapped, at Lord Victor’s mercy.
“How did you manage to get them?” Lord Victor’s voice echoed through the place.
I guessed he was directing his questions to one of the rogues
“Today is the lantern festival so we know almost all the maldens in town will come. I spotted the princess and 1 recognized her immediately.” The man said with a big smile on his face,
How badly I wish to wipe that annoying smile off his lips.
“Robert is already with the other slaves.” The leader of the rogues said with a satisfactory smile on his lips
Suddenly, the door burst open and several girls were pushed in… I widened my eyes in horror.
“What the heck is going on,” I screamed in my head.
1 am very sure the girls would be more than fifty.
What did he want to do with us?
I tried my best to remain calm. This is not the time to panic.
1
I moved my gaze to Lyra and Ava, I could see fear written all over their faces.
They dragged the girls to where we were seated. They pushed them violently.
I quickly avoided the girl that almost landed on me.
This is so much more annoying than I thought. How the hell will we get out of this place?
My eyes scanned the entire place looking for where an exit was aside from the big door.
Unfortunately. There seems to be none.
A frustrated sigh escaped my lips.
“Please when are you planning to release us? When are we going home?” I asked, furrowing my brow.
My voice echoed through the place. All heads turned in my direction.
Lyra pinched me. Signaling me not to say anything further.
But we can’t keep silent forever.
Lord Victor directed his icy glare to me. He seems to be in his early thirties. Half of his face was covered with a sear The only word I can use to describe him is ugly
