Chapter 23 She Ran Away!
After all, Marvin was the grandson of Egbert, so Sierra couldn’t treat him like an average troublemaker. She spared him a bit of face and said, “Marvin. I won’t hold this against you because you’re Egbert’s grandson. Please move aside now.”
“I won’t move!” Marvin thought Sierra flinched because of his identity, so he became even more assertive.
Sierra glanced at him helplessly. She had already given him enough respect. If he didn’t move now, she wouldn’t be polite anymore.
Sierra slammed the accelerator, and the car roared to life. The loud noise immediately made Marvin flinch and cover his ears, stepping back as if the car was about to hit him.
Seizing the opportunity. Sierra jerked the steering wheel, executing a perfect U–turn. Suddenly, the car rolled out, leaving Marvin and the others standing dumbfounded.
After the car drove off, Sam shouted, “Marvin, she just ran away!”
Marvin slapped him on the head. “Do you need to say that? Can’t I see
that?”
“Sierra, let’s wait and see…”
Back home, Karla walked up to Sierra and asked, “How was your day at school?”
“It was fine.” What had happened at school was nothing to Sierra, so there was no need to tell Karla and bother her.

“That’s good. I was worried you wouldn’t get along with your classmates, but it looks like I was overthinking.” Karla took Sierra into the living
room.
“Mom, please just sit down. I’ll go upstairs to put my things away,” Sierra said, heading toward the elevator.
“Alright, what do you want for dinner?” Karla called from behind her.
“Anything works.”
Back in her room, Sierra finally relaxed. She took off her ckpack and collapsed onto the bed.
“So comfy…” She closed her eyes, enjoying the softness of the bed.
Suddenly, her watch rang.
Sierra opened her eyes and saw a message from Phantom. “The piece of land you were interested in is going up for auction in a few days.”
“Got it. Send me the time.” Her peaceful nap was interrupted by Phantom’s message, and Sierra didn’t feel like sleeping anymore. She got up, changed her clothes, and went downstairs.
In the living room, Isabella was chatting with Karla. When she saw Sierra. coming over, she made an excuse to leave all of a sudden. “Mom, I haven’t changed yet. I’m going to change first.”
As she passed by Sierra, she smirked secretly before walking toward the elevator, her ears still tuned to the conversation in the living room.
Sierra sat down on the sofa, reached for the remote, and turned on the TV. But Karla immediately switched it off.
Sierra was stunned. “Mom, why did you turn off the TV? I was

watching.”
“It’s not too late to watch later. First, tell me what you did at school. today.” Karla said. looking at Sierra with a stern face.
“I attended class. What else could there be?” Sierra lied without even
blinking.
“Still lying? I already know!” Karla looked at Sierra with an angry expression. This was the first time she had scolded Sierra, not for anything she did, but for keeping things from her.
“Isabella told you about it, didn’t she?” Sierra knew it. Otherwise, why would Isabella leave just when she arrived? It was clear she had been bitching about her.
“If it weren’t for Isla telling me, would you hide it from me forever?” Karla said with both anger and concern since being bullied was quite a big deal.
“It’s nothing serious. There’s no need to make you worry.” Sierra said nonchalantly.
“Nothing serious? Even the principal’s grandson can’t bully you! I’ll tell your dad to seek justice for you!” Karla was even angrier to see Sierra’s indifferent attitude.
“Mom, it’s not that serious.” Sierra tried to calm her down.
“Not serious? Being surrounded by boys trying to beat you?”
“Even your dad and I never scold you? How could they?” Karla was so irritated.
“Let me see if you’re hurt.” Karla began searching for injuries on Sierra’s body.
bullied at school. She meant well. When she comes down, don’t be mad at
her.” Karla looked at Sierra and warned her.
Karla raised Isabella up, and in her heart, she had always been a good and obedient child.
“Tomorrow, should I have your dad take you to school and talk to the principal?” Karla didn’t want Sierra to encounter such things at school again and didn’t want any conflict between the Cordova family and the Colon family. After all, Marvin was from the Colon family.
“No need. I’ve already solved things with the school.” Sierr.. said seriously, not wanting her mom to worry too much.
“What can you do? Tomorrow, I think your dad should go. It will make me feel more at ease.” Karla still didn’t feel right and insisted that Trevon should go.
Seeing that nothing she said would change Karla’s mind, Sierra stopped arguing and decided to wait until Trevon returned home. “Can I watch TV now?”
“Sure. What do you want for dinner? I’ll make it for you.” Karla said, looking at her daughter with affection.
“Anything you make will do. I love it all, Mom,” Sierra said from the heart.
“Flatterer! Well, just watch TV. I’ll let you know when dinner’s ready.” Karla then walked toward the kitchen.
Sierra found the news channel and settled down on the sofa.
After Isabella went upstairs, she didn’t return to her room. Instead, she hid at the stairs to eavesdrop on their conversation.
Chapter 21
She had thought that after telling Karla about Sierra’s situation at school, Karla would scold her. However, to her surprise, Karla didn’t blame Sierra for not getting along with the Colon family. Instead, she was concerned about her, which made Isabella even more jealous.
Her plan failed again!
