Chapter 3 Impostor
“Yes.” Jamal smiled as he walked on with her. “Grandpa likes Kinsley’s
Works a lot. But she’s only created a few works. He wanted to buy two of her paintings, but she wouldn’t sell them. Grandpa has been waiting for her new paintings. It’s a shame that they say it usually takes her months to create a painting.
Sierra felt embarrassed to know her grandpa was her fan. What would he feel if he knew she was Kinsley?
The two of them entered the hall of the Cordova’s manor. A middle–aged couple was sitting there. There was also a girl Sierra’s age.
“Dad, Mom, Sierra is back.”
Karla Houston’s eyes brightened when she saw her biological daughter. She stood up at once and waved at Sierra. “You’re…Sierra?”
At the sight of this woman, Sierra recalled her dreams.
This face was too familiar. She dreamed of it a lot at the orphanage. She learned fine arts because she wanted to draw a portrait of her mom and find her.
A touch of warmth ran through her heart. Clasping her hands, Sierra tried to keep her emotions in check.
“Yes… Mom?”
Hearing Sierra call her “Mom,” Karla stepped forward, held her, and cried, “My daughter! I’ve finally seen you!”
The sight moved Trevon Cordova. The eyes of the rational man reddened. He said in a low voice, “We’ve finally found you.”
Sierra hugged Karla awkwardly, but she felt a strong sense of belonging and an unprecedented sense of security.
Now, she had everything. Her only wish was to be reunited with her family. It had come true.
Sierra was savoring the moment when a low voice began, “It’s my fault. If I hadn’t appeared, the mistake wouldn’t have happened. And Sierra wouldn’t have been away from home for so many years…”
Sierra eyed the girl, having no idea who she was.
Hearing Isabella Cordova’s words, Karla reached out to take her hand. “Silly, if it weren’t for you, I’d have been sad these years. Don’t worry. Although Sierra has come back, you remain my daughter.”
Isabella was moved. Her eyes reddened. “Mom.”
It was a touching scene. Today was Sierra’s reunion with her family, but suddenly it was all about Isabella.
Sierra frowned. She got the gist.
Due to the mistake, she separated from her parents, so they adopted a daughter.
The Cordova family was powerful but didn’t look for their missing daughter. No wonder. There was an impostor in their home. Luckily, Sierra had insisted on finding her family. Otherwise, Isabella would pretend to be her for the rest of her family.
Thinking of this, Sierra hated Isabella and said coldly, “What a surprise. Besides my brothers, I also have a younger sister. No wonder my family

never looked for me these years. There’s a substitute at home.”
Sierra spoke in a lukewarm tone. Isabella pretended to be innocent. immediately. “Sierra, I’m sorry. This isn’t what I wanted. The police made a mistake with the DNA test results…”
Trevon looked frustrated. Back then, they lost their daughter. Karla almost had a mental breakdown. So, they didn’t apply for another DNA test and let Isabella stay. However, as Isabella grew up, she didn’t resemble the Cordova family at all.
“The police made a mistake with the DNA test results? And they happened to make your DNA and my parents‘ a match of 99%?” Sierra snorted. What a load of crap! “I wonder which police station it was. I’ll look into it. Otherwise, I’ll think someone sabotaged the DNA test results to be the impostor.”
Sierra’s analysis made sense. Jamal squinted a little.
Sierra wasn’t the only one doubtful. Jamal had begun having questions, too. But it happened ten years ago. The investigation would be tricky.
Isabella was embarrassed. Then, she put on a sad face and bit her lip. “I know I was wrong to take Sierra’s position. Sierra, I understand that you don’t like me. Hit me or yell at me if you want. I won’t complain.”
Squinting her eyes, Sierra watched Isabella act. When it came to tricks, the latter was so much like Carissa. But this was Sierra’s home. She would tolerate no one. She returned, “Good for you. You manipulate without a trace. You make it sound like I picked on you. My place was taken, and I was separated from my parents for ten years. Yet here you are, crying. If one didn’t know better, one would think I took your place. for ten years.”
Sierra’s eloquence reduced Isabella to silence.

Isabella had belittled Sierra, thinking the girl returning from outside after so many years wouldn’t be her match. Clearly, she had underestimated her
rival.
Karla could tell Sierra was upset. She comforted her, “It was my fault. I missed you so much as to neglect some details. Don’t blame Isabella.”
Sierra frowned a little and looked at her mom, feeling sorry for her. Although she was mad, she didn’t have the heart to voice it out..
The good thing was, she had made achievements and earned multiple identities in the past ten years. Or she wouldn’t spare this scheming little bitch.
“Don’t worry, Mom. I’m indeed upset, but Isabella took care of you for me for many years. As long as she doesn’t plot against me, we’ll make peace.”
Isabella looked at Sierra’s aloof face and said awkwardly, “How could I possibly pot against you?”
Sierra raised her brows. “It would be best that you don’t.”
She scrutinized Isabella with sharp eyes.
Sierra wouldn’t stir things up. As long as Isabella didn’t mess with her, she’d leave her alone.
Karla was relieved to see her two daughters get on fine.
Jamal said, “Dad, Mom, Sierra came without having dinner. Let’s go to the dining room.”
“All right.” Karla–nodded and smiled, “I don’t know about your likes and dislikes. So, I had the butler prepare choice ingredients. I hope you’ll like the dishes.”

Trevon saw the problem. “It’s late. Why haven’t you had dinner?”
Sierra didn’t wanna explain, but Jamal concisely told Trevon what happened at the Giada’s house.
Trevon’s face went livid. “How dare they pick on my daughter! They’re gonna pay!”
Sierra was the apple of his eye. Of course, he’d protect her. How could he let the Giada family hurt her?
“Don’t worry about it. I’ve handled it. There’ll be no Giada family in this city from tomorrow.” Jamal said carelessly as if he were talking about the weather.
Among the brothers, Jamal doted on Isabella the most. But now, he was dealing with another family for a rural girl having just returned. It made Isabella jealous.
She used to be the boys‘ favorite. Whoever found fault with her, they’d defend her. But they were never so protective.
